Terrific song. When you consider this was released in the Stock Aitken and Waterman era, its criminal that a band with this much talent didn't chart higher.
Brilliant song brilliant band still have the 7inch single best kept secret from the A&R men 2FM plugged them but sadly not enough . another Irish band that deserves respect well done lads.
A truly fantastic band. I had the joy of seeing them in Glenavon Hotel approx 30yrs ago. I thought life was pretty brilliant at that moment. AND IT WAS!!
This is indeed a masterpiece. It’s so sad it hasn’t got the success a song of this quality deserves. I can only hope songs like this get pick up in a tv show or film.
Brilliant song, Brilliant band, will be seeing them live at the Forever Young Festival next month. Loads of 80's bands but Cry Before Dawn are the one I'm especially looking forward to seeing 😎😎😎😎
Odd thing. I was listening to Radio Caroline and the guy mentioned Cry Before Dawn, and I went 'Hang on-they were brilliant! We saw them at least twice! We had their album. How did I forget?' So I came looking and here it was. We had this on a loop and I was able to sing straight in with this, note and word perfect (well,My version of note and word perfect) They were excellent! But how come I lost that? Thanks Caroline for giving me something back. He didn't play them, by the way! Why they never 'Made it' is one of life's great mysteries. Bloody Kylie Mingenote is still out there doing her Minnie Mouse impressions and she was about the same time?
Mighty boys of Wexford. Another act that got away without the fame they deserve. Had a great smile when I heard them booming out at a Wet and Wild resort in Florida in 1989. Thanks men...what's the Storey!
So happy to have found this song again after many years as only had it on vinyl. Never was big hit back in the day sadly but still sounds as fresh as it did then and I love it.

I first heard this song back in 1993 and never knew who sang it until recently when I decided to look it up again after so many years of just singing the song (badly) from memory. It was on a best of album back then and on a cassette that was already copied from another cassette. Great song and Great fucking times!!!
Cracking song, and amazing album, was well chuffed when I found the CD on Ebay about 6 years ago for about £4, this and Last Of The Sun are 2 of my fave all time songs.
absolutey fukin deadly song i came across these guys around 10 minutes ago and my senses are goin clean mental fron the vibes and sounds. sssaaaaaaaaaaaaweet
how come a brilliant band like this get no attention and crap bands around the rest of country do...bet if they were from dublin they would be rich by now
When live bands traveled the whole county not just the cities and big towns.. Seen this brilliant band out on Achill Island 🌴 in 1992 !! Small gig but big music !! 🌴
I have the vinyl, it was pressed only in a few countries, here in South Africa as well, this song was played a couple of times, as well as Yesterday's Girl (was it a single and played in Ireland?), his voice sounds to me a little bit like Andy Bell from Erasure
Witness for the World was a single. Yesterday's Girl was album track only. Good that it was played in South Africa. I agree. His voice is not too dissimilar from Andy Bell.
+nlgbbbblth The answer is no. The single version is still unavailable on CD. The ideal time to include it would have been on the recent Best Of. But no.
This song and its "success" shows in a very embarrassing way that people do not like nor realize quality but just go for what the music industry makes them listen to often enough.
Terrific song. When you consider this was released in the Stock Aitken and Waterman era, its criminal that a band with this much talent didn't chart higher.
Great band but far too sad, SAW songs were happy pop song dude, 3 minute classics that we all danced to!
Cranberries ripped of this song (linger)
Just heard this track first time in years on RTE GOLD, Saw this band in Waterford around 1985, Forgot how good they were. Great track
Stock Aitken and Waterman destroyed British music should never be spoken about
@@lippyfrybender4622sounds nothing like it at all 😂😂
One of Ireland’s best bands absolutely fantastic
Listening in Sept 22. This song is most appropriate for the times we living through.
One of my favourite songs.
Listening in 2023 and still a classic
Love this song, listening from New South Wales in Australia.
It is a good song alright isn't it?
G'Day from Ireland, they' were pretty great alright ,I was saddened they didn't make it huge.
Fab song. great memories of college life in the 80s. as relevant today as when it was written.
Still holds up in 2024❤ what a band
Brilliant song brilliant band still have the 7inch single best kept secret from the A&R men 2FM plugged them but sadly not enough . another Irish band that deserves respect well done lads.
I saw them at Leascliffe Hall Folkstone with Big Country. Brilliant. We still talk about it.
A truly fantastic band. I had the joy of seeing them in Glenavon Hotel approx 30yrs ago. I thought life was pretty brilliant at that moment. AND IT WAS!!
I was there too. August 1989 it was. They played there about 2 years later as well. Great times.
This is indeed a masterpiece. It’s so sad it hasn’t got the success a song of this quality deserves. I can only hope songs like this get pick up in a tv show or film.
Am amazing song from a great era of Irish Music!
Haven't heard this in ages...had it on cassette 30 odd years ago.
Brilliant song, Brilliant band, will be seeing them live at the Forever Young Festival next month. Loads of 80's bands but Cry Before Dawn are the one I'm especially looking forward to seeing 😎😎😎😎
Were they as good as you expected? I hope so.
@@peterlensic7053 they were brilliant, every bit as good as i had hoped for. One of the true highlights of the festival for me. 🎵😎🎵
what a band. Brendan has such a great voice. Pity we don't see or hear more of them
One of my all time favourite songs.

Re release this brilliant song lads. Watch it fly.
Cannot wait to see them on on Friday night. 😊
A travesty that this only got to number #67 in the charts. To the record buying public at the time, shame on you!
I bought it! Not sure who else did though...
@@rde4017 Glad to hear it.Im sure your purchase was appreciated at the time . Shame not enough other people at the time bought it as well!
I bought it after seeing them Support the mighty Big Country another group never really appreciated

I'm 19 and this better than most of the stuff out nowadays I wish I could have been around for them :(
You're now 26 and the same probably applies.
how come a brilliant band like this get no attention and crap bands around the rest of country do...bet if they were from dublin they would be rich by now
What a ridiculous thing to say.
and what would you have to say
+blaknblond Perhaps something that's not an unbased wild accusation based on a personal dislike of a particular geographical location?
i never said i dislike dublin...its an ok town ....just sticking to my opinion that this band has been ignored due to their geographical location
+blaknblond And I'm sure the statistics you have bear that opinion out...
Great stuff .x
Why the hell was this not massive????
I never understood at the time and I still don't!!!!
Proud wexford man listening to this absolute belter of a tune 😊
And so you should be.
How the hell this band past me by in the 80s i will never know . ? Absolutely fantastic
Absolutely an Irish great 🇮🇪❤️
