I just drop 10 sample risk analyst specific questions for your reference. 1. How would you calculate Value at Risk (VaR)? 2. What's wrong with VaR as a measurement of risk? 3. What is non-Linear VaR? How would you calculate it? 4. What is Expected Shortfall (ES) and how you calculate ES? 5. What is the historical method of calculating VaR? What are its advantages? 6. What is Risk Weighted Asset RWA? 7. What are the challenges in calculating VaR for a mixed portfolio? 8. What are the Greeks? 9. What is the one-day VaR of a $50m portfolio with a daily standard deviation of 2% at a 95% confidence level? What is the annualized VaR? 10. What do you know about extreme value theory?
I beg to defer, these questions are for IT risk analyst role, and I have been asked more than half of these questions in 2 interview already. I'm in the final stage of one interview for Control assurance analyst role. In the first phase I was asked most of these questions. I answered with everything here and in 10mins I got a mail to continue to the next (final) stage.
Hi I have a data analyst degree and can code but I do not have an in depth maths background such as calculus, linear algebra etc. Is this something that’s heavily part of the job or can I apply?

There is college in India gurgaon GRMI (global risk management institute) it provides Post graduation in risk management and it's total fees is 12 lakh and average placement is 9 lpa and they say as per there placement scenario 85% are working in big 4 companies and i have asked few students from thier institute i got positive response only Can you please suggest this
