I had a 1997 GMC S-15 Sonoma with the 4.3ltr Vortec V-6 that had a running very rich issue around 235,000 miles on it. I had to replace the fuel pressure regulator which was under the intake plenum. Luckily the spider web injectors were okay because they were over $200. Even the aftermarket kit that was redesigned was not cheap. I've always worked on my own cars when I could and I can say I'm glad I became a motorcycle technician and machinist rather than a car mechanic.
Same thing happened to me. It ended up being the $60 fuel pressure regulator not the entire $400 spider injection system. Not a terrible job. But a dangerous problem. Glad yours did now blow up or catch fire.
Mine has so much fuel in it it stalled out and then hydro locked when I tried to start it. An overwhelming smell of fuel filled the cab because the exhaust system was filling with fuel and vaping it off under the truck. I'm so lucky the thing didn't blow.i still love these motors. I am more mad at the vacuum actuated 4wd than anything with GM on these little jems.
Those CPI problems! Don't miss those!
I just swapped this engine in there 2-3k miles ago with no major issues till this catastrophe 😆
@@s10life I replaced a lot of regulators and the feed/return lines while at the dealership.
Yeah I feel like that would’ve been a common dealership job back in the day. Very cool looking intake though 👌
Teach her young bro I hope to do the same with my sisters gotta keep them focused off the streets and the phone 🔥
Amen to that!
Had a 4.3 in my wife’s 95 GMC mini van she put over 500,000 miles on that engine really liked it
Wow! Yeah these are great engines
Good video and I just love the way your helper is involved, teach her everything you can, you go young lady, thank you

Yeah that seems like a much simpler life style!

Thank you sir! Details of the exhaust build in the description 💪
Got lucky it didn’t blow the oil pan off it
And by some miracle it had great oil pressure with all that gas in the oil
You need what gm called a nut kit and spider injectors easy fix
It ended up being the send and return line
