Singing is way more complicated than I originally thought, there's so many slight things you can do to change your tone. The main one ive noticed is how much air you put behind a note, things sound way different based on your exhale speed. And you can sing for longer between breaths or with more power depending on the amount of air used. The most impressive part of opera singing to me is their extensive use of full exhalation but never hearing them breath

The fact he rolled with it so well! I'm extremely impressed with how heads-up he was with the modulations. Man changed on the fly, faster than my ear in drumming can catch something.
it's staged, sir.
Florian Sempey, excellent baritone. He has a real ease in singing.
That Singer was a full blown MAN. So much talent, I admire his courage and ability. ❤
This was so enjoyable to watch, and listen. Incredible playing and singing! Loved all of it!!!
That was amazing, the improvisations were so slick and that singer was sharp AF!
Brilliant
😂Improvisations he says as if it wasnt giga staged 😂
@@Chali_9 that's ok if it's staged.
Still sounded good to my ears, fun to watch.
Any suggestions for other music in this genre thats worth a listen?
Florin Sempey is one of France's most famous opera singers - and a lovely personality. Figaro is one of hisbest known roles and The pianist obviously recognised him.
MAGNIFICENT!!!! That's all I can say. Thank you for sharing this!
Yes yes! Wonderful excerpt! And I love how he picked up his cue with your change -- and I love how you worked your change in so seemlessly!! Impressive for both of you!! Well done well done!!! BRAVO
Flawless
Wow! You together made history! So epic, precise, entertaining! Thanks from Germany!
A brilliant performance of two talented Musicians. Thank You .
Amazing! So wonderful!!!❤
What a lovely impromptu performance! It lifted my soul on a dark and cold October morn. Merci bien!
Multiple camera cuts would imply otherwise
I don't personally like opera but even I recognize that famous part. You guys worked INSANELY WELL together! Truly fantastic artistry 👏🏻 Bravo, gentlemen.
I'm a raptor, doing what I can, goin' to eat everything till the appearance of man. Yo yo see me, I'm living beneath the soil. I'll be back but I'm coming as oil.
Anyone that's ever watched Bugs Bunny cartoons knows that song.
Wow! The power in that gentleman's verbrato is amazing!!!! Beautiful voice!!! You both did an amazing job!!! 🙌💯💗
The minute the guy started playing the singer was like "hold on a sec".
Not sure how I found this video, glad that I did!
I thought that Florian was going to be a diva but he totally followed your lead and it was amazing.
Excellent playing Julien!!
He's the pianist at the opera. They're the singers. They're all in the same production together. They're friends.
Yeah, I think the big girl is with them too. She looks like a typical opera singer. How did they get a close up of her laughing as she says she always wanted to go to the opera? It's staged, but it's still fun to watch. The girl at 0:55 kinda looks like the opera singer from one of the other videos made by the pianist.
Meh. So what. Still a cool video.
@@SharkWithFreakinLaserBeam not really.
@@kylesmith5668 ok
In any case, how can you be certain the singer knew the pianist was going to sit down and play his song? Still cool, especially with all the changes.
I’m not even a fan of opera but I wish I could have been there. That was incredibly impressive.
WOW ! What a voice! I'm 74 and about 30 years ago I remember seeing Luciano Pavarotti and Placido Domingo at the Metropolitan Opera House in NYC in the same season!! I was stunned by the beautiful voices ! I still get goose bumps when I hear opera!! What an art form!!😅😊😊
What a gracious, lively, friendly, young opera singer!😊 Really enjoyed his enthusiastically generous personality 👍
Thank you to the accomplished piano player
who gave the young opera professional a chance for an impromptu share
of the music that he obviously loves❤ so much, and can sing so well 🎵🎶 - even without rehersal or advance notice !🎉
Oh please this is as impromptu as the Iraqi invasion.
It looked impromptu for Florian and the piano player but I’m guessing somebody knew that Was Florian Sempey eating dinner and asked the piano player to play Figaro’s Aria. And then it was on!!!! I absolutely loved this and watch it for a shot of joy when I need one.Bravo Bravo Bravo!!!! I love getting to see high end craft in people no matter what it is… like watching Simone Biles tumble or watching Kobe Bryant hustle the basketball court or James Gates giving an astrophysics lecture😎 I’m a grateful listener❤
@@theshushu7940
Not quite, Sunshine. Iraq invasion was evil and lethal. This talented artist offers neither effect.
Cheers🎉
@@rmp7400 Lol whooosh!
Wow, you got to have an impromptu performance with a famous opera singer. His voice is stupendous. These people also got a free show. Damn, that was incredible!
The show was great!
But let's be honest, there were a bit too many camera angles right from the start for it to be "impromptu" 😉
@@wawan3961Not really. The guy playing the piano probably got permission to set them up JUST IN CASE anything cool happened. Like this.
Plus he's also probably got buddies filming it all. On top of the crowd filming perspectives.
@@wawan3961 while I've never watched this guy's other vids, it's clear he has a crew that films public reactions to his random performances. I think he just got really lucky this time around.
@@SessmaruKusanagiGamingunrelated but I have a bridge to sell you
@@MidnightSonnet Yes yes and the moon is made of cheese.
Bravo, magnificent opera singer and pianist!
That was POWERFULLY WONDERFUL!! Amazing singer, amazing accompaniment!!!🔥🔥🔥
As a classically trained musician, i love it when this happens ❤.
Compliments to both artists!!!!! Bravo!!!
Brings tears to my eyes. Bravo to both of them! 🎉
These videos are wonderful, so much fun, such talent, I enjoy them so much.
Guys you are amazing! Bravo!👏
BRAVO TO THE PIANIST AND THE BARITONE! WHAT A MAGNIFICENT IMPROMPTU PERFORMANCE!
Is that why he had his hand on his ear/neck so much? Because of these variations in tone?
Breath control is a huge factor for sure. You have to think about every single note and how much breath you’re going to ration for each one.
@@Fyodor2976 i am pretty sure, it helps him to hear better, how he sings and concentrate. Some Beatboxers do that as wel, when they concentrate on something
I am pretty sure, they use an " Overtone Technique " to get their Voice out more easily but still strong, i sang in a Choir for Months, there i first heard of that Technique.
Florian Sempey. His voice is something that always gives me goosebumps.
WOW what a wonderful music duo to have my breakfast with. Thank you very much for sharing the whole amazing experience with us! 🇦🇺😊❤👏
For two people of that amount of talent and skill to just happen to be in the same place at the same time is astounding.
Ya it's staged lol
Ffs 😂
@@NiteRacerYou’re probably American… It’s quite common in Paris to have a piano in a supermarket, a metro station, a shop, a restaurant and to watch people sing. We have a piano at St Pancras station in London too… We don’t need to fake anything….
@@Judi.TThat’s not what makes this video scream “staged!” Did you notice the MANY different cameras set up in the restaurant? Filming the singer BEFORE he began?
@@Judi.TThere are thousands of these videos that are planned in advance, including this one. It's not a conspiracy theory.
Outstanding, I fell in love with Opera and the Symphony when my Mother took me to Music Hall in Cincinnati when I was 5 years old!
the connection between them is amazing each knew what the other wanted to do
Impressionante!
That was amazing. Wish I’d been there to hear his power live. Great watching two musicians adjust to each other on the fly. Very impressive.
Paz e bem
Two CONSUMMATE professionals in absolute control of both their respective instruments. The utmost of respect from West Virginia!!!
Absolutely magic! I'm amazed hiw the singer jumped from one part of the aria with the pianist. Well done both of you ! Magnificent! ❤😊
What a wonderful surprise for the crowd. It was beautiful and so much fun to watch. Thanks for posting it❣️🙏🏻
Extraordinaria interpretación del pianista y el cantante! Bravo! Bravissimo!❤❤❤
You two are very dynamic together! Beautiful performance!!! ❤
Marvelous!!!, simply two immensely talented artists collide to each other to bring this magical moment up, one-off and unique instant, totally nourishing for the soul. Opera is eternal, music is everlastingly encarned love and power over the flow of life. Thank you for your wonderful talent.
So amazing. Every time I watch it.
The best part of being an opera singer/pianist is exactly this - believing in one's skill and having the confidence for spontaneity. Such an exhilarating performance... hat's off to you both. (/¯◡ ‿ ◡)/¯ ~ ┻━┻
I'm going through all your videos now, from one to another, all are amazing. The joy they bring is unbelievable, gives me hope for happiness amongst humans ❤️ 😊
