Startup Repair - or Automatic Repair in Windows 8, 8.1, and Reset in Windows 10 will try to automatically repair computers that are unbootable because of any of a number of reasons.
Startup Issues this guide can help with :
Has your Registry become corrupted?
Are there missing or damaged system and driver files?
Are you experiencing Disk metadata corruption like MBR, partition table, and boot sector or file system metadata corruption?
Having issues installing problem or incompatible drivers?
Installation of Windows service packs and patches coming back with incompatible errors?
Corrupt boot configuration data?
Bad memory and hard disk hardware errors?
You will want to run a Startup Repair when you are experiencing these issues, but while its early enough that no other issues have been caused as a knock on effect.

Bro, I have so many (1,000’s) beats, drums, kicks, claps, sound loops, samples all on this computer as well.... I’m praying that the method I used recovers some of it :-/
All my files are !@#$% even new word documents come up like that idk what to do for this laptop
I actually found a fix.... I restored mine, and it gave me the option to restore but keep all files under C:/Users and now I have a brand new laptop, with all of my User data from my old one still intact, thank god I managed to save my beats.
You have to press F12 on boot and press HDD Recovery, and when prompted, select “Keep All User Files.”
Worked.
Edit: pretty much exactly what he said but press keep all user data, not factory reset
My computer just starts up and goes straight to Startup Repair, when I try to cancel it, I click finish and it just restarts and does it again. Can you help me with this?

For start-up repair you needs bootable CD or USB then you can as per your installed windows.
But how. Can u explain
If you click on the "X" (close) or "Cancel" it won't allow you to do either. But if you press the power on/off button, it should bring you to the Recovery Manager screen. Did it on my Compaq CQ56!

Hey MDTech. This problem happened 2 days ago when I was logged into a non admin account on Windows 7. I recently installed an app which was working for the most part but had a slight issue. I also noticed that a driver updated failed to install but only click to check on it and closed the window. mins later my screen went zoomed in and desktop background turned black and missing icons. I did a System Restore to last month and desktop background is normal along w/ some desktop icons showing. Only problem is all my files are missing from my folders and can’t find them anywhere even when I check my C drive and Old.Windows folder under user. Idk what happened maybe a corrupt file also had to Re-install chrome & bookmarks gone, also getting error code 0x0000142 every time I log in. Any help would be appreciated! Also I tried this method but instead of C: Drive it’s on D: Drive.

If your keyboard is plugged into a USB 3.0 slot, it will not work. Try moving it to a USB 2.0 slot.

I too have the same problem of not being able to uninstall service pack 1 from my Windows 7 professional o/s. But I used my pre sp1 dvd anyway and it works, because when the program connects to the internet to update itself, it applies the sp1 update automatically to the installation. After that it ran fine for me after removing itunes from my desktop computer.
When i turn on my computer (this is unrelated to the video) it gives me 2 options. 1. Start system reapir (recommended) or something along those lines. 2. Start windows normally. These both result in the system repair. After the repair ends the computer restarts and does the same thing. My question is can i stop the start up repair from happening.

1) I pressed F2 continuously for almost 3- 4 mins.
2) then setup was going on I almost waiting for 15 mins for this action to go further.
3) Then I restarted my computer after I finished setup process.
And then it asked me for the password for opening.
4) And then I sneezed (Joke)
God blessed me and then it got open❤️❤️❤️😁

The best way would be microsoft media creation tool. Create bootable Win7 usb or CD and reinstall OS and choose to keep files when prompted.
It worked but I'm worried if this a permanent fix or not??? Because this happened many times before and tried this method but it keeps coming back to this condition sometimes. Is there any permanent solution for this?? Pls help.

Don't know if you still read comments or not but my issue is that my laptop will start updating and then go 30 percent then it'll restart and after that it'll automatically open the startup repair menu and keeps doing this process and I can't even open safe mode

Expert help needed! Using windows 7 control panel, back up and restore, create a system repair disc (not system image) the repair disc was burned to dvd. upon placing the disk in the dvd player at bootup, press any key screen windows loading, select next, searching for windows installations, then this message comes up: This version of System Recovery Options is not compatible with the version of Windows you are trying to repair. This disc was created on this machine. i tested the disk on other machines and it works. Why not on the machine it was created on. This windows 7 pro was installed with gpt efi partition, not mbr, and it still is gpt efi. No expert can help, not even microsoft forums.
