As Ben stated, I don't understand how killing Taliban in Afghanistan makes Australia safer. Surely, what makes Australia safer would be keeping the Liberal party of out federal government (they just changed the rules for fire assistance, so all those poor Australians who lost their homes can no longer claim assistance).
If you don't understand what the Taliban have done in Afghanistan, nor their stated aims for other countries, then of course you won't understand why his actions make Australia safer.
why didnt the apache gunners help? and why didnt he pick up the RPG gunner from the guy in the shed that he killed and use that to neutralise a machine gun?
Loves a pose with people drinking from a prosthetic leg of a defenceless man he is alleged to have murdered, and hiding images of himself doing so from authorities conducting investigations into his alleged misconduct. What a disgrace and utter disappointment. Counting down the days until his arrest.
Decorations and promotion are two different things. In his regiment, there are few sergeant slots, and the sergeants are the main leaders in the unit. If he had left SASR he would be at least a sergeant by now, but I doubt he would want to do that.
His career is basicly over in the sense of having any sort of active roll in operations over seas. He would be involved with training and other activities but as far as being on active deployment with the SASR he is not aloud, he is the poster boy for the regiment a public figure now, his identity and stuff have been compromised. That's what I've had made out to me by someone I trust and I know has more insight into things of this nature.
Also apparently ranks aren't a big thing in the SASR, the mentality is alot different compared to the average army. It's still important but alot to do with experience.
I remember when heroes were everywhere they were non- assuming individuals whom led quiet lives and after war went back to their daily 9-5. Now we seem to have press conferences, parades and magazine coveres for the professional soldier.
That's because he's a narcissist who relishes the spotlight. I always thought there was something off about him. He was always so keen to stick his face on tv like some kind of celebrity which isn't normal as none of the other vc recipients wanted that kind of attention. Now these murder accusations have come out and his behavior is even more questionable. He's saying it's un-Australian to investigate soldiers". He's hiding something
This way I always visualized a Superman with a pea for brain. In his rehearsed script I was astonished to hear "protecting the way of our life "?? One day perhaps it will go about our way of life - compromised by digitally enhanced supermen and We will depend on some non- heroic not decorated ,non trained patriots as Afgan Talibanis , from among our selves to be cannon fodder for some TV program. Rosa Luxembourg - said value of our life is directly related with those who can pay it in the least
Yep because so many of our Australian "freedoms" exist in Iraq and Afghanistan. How did he give his life for us (What a crock of shit)? By allegedly murdering innocents according to his former SAS teammates? Cheating on his wife while preaching about family values? I'm getting pretty sick of this big dumb ape splashing his face all over tv at every opportunity. I found it very interesting how keen he always was to get on tv which almost no soldier wants to do, but it's in line with what most celebrities and narcissists/phychos do so it's all making sense now.
@@leonardsargent5888 Cheating on his wife, well,it can be passed off as being a two timer and is done by 90% of blokes. But killing innocent people is very wrong and he should be punished if they are proven
I can't for the life of me understand the people insisting his innocence saying all his former SAS teammates who are coming forward and testifying against him are just jealous. That's not a valid argument. You couldn't possibly know for sure if he's guilty or innocent. It's an extremely weak argument to just assume someone's innocence just because they are a former soldier. That's like assuming that no police officers could ever do anything wrong just because they are police or no doctors could ever do anything wrong just because they are doctors. Ask yourselves, would you still defending him if he was accused of something worse like illegal pornography? And if he is found guilty of the murders, will you all still be screaming his absolute innocence?
Mike Hogan It looks like he is now being abandoned by his colleagues and those in charge. The allegations are too damming and disturbing to be covered up any longer. He may have done some heroic things and fought hard for the army but killing innocent people is very wrong and he should be held to account if he is found guilty
Respect. But if he believes in freedom what was he doing in Afghanistan? Now, don't get all insulting and hysterical especially if you aspire to be SAS yourself.

My uncle served 28 years as 3 and 4 RAR, SASR and 2CDO. He was fortunate to have survived a black hawk crash in Afghanistan that killed his entire squad. He is only paralyzed from the legs down, no biggie. The only support vets recieve is from the DVA and RSL. Let's train individuals to be killers, persecute them for doing the job the government trained them to do and forget about the service given for our so called freedoms. The media are feeding absolute bullshit down society's throats and it is being swallowed by the majority, making inaccurate and false inferences based upon third party information. If today's headline is society are fickle mush heads, it would be believed and accepted as truth.
war criminal and psychopath. should be flown back to the country he helped destroy to face their justice for his murderous behaviour.
It was an honor to watch, thank you for your service.
what a man. true hero
Some guys have got it all. He's a GIANT!
a great man
No probs mate thanks any way.
please make this available on mobile
sounded like a hard fight by all the team, he deserved the VC a cool customer
RIP Mike Willessee.
You can tell hes a actor
He didnt WIN the Victoria's cross. He EARNT it.
He didnt buy a lotto ticket
Fucking, Lad. 10/10
The reason that anyone EARNS the Victoria Cross.... is for VALOR that is way BEYOND what you would expect from a soldier just doing their job.....There are other awards between it and battle bravery.....To EARN the VC......you are SPECIAL...and what you have done is special................Ben Roberts-Smith is a member of the GREATEST fighting force on this planet...(now that the Gurkahs have been disbanded)
I stand in AWE of this man....because Australian special forces soldiers are NOT usually his size and weight because of the training involved just to qualify to be thought of as a member ....
US NAVY Seals would NOT have anyone of his size and yet Australian SAS are trained as hard if not harder!!
Any MORON who has a criticism of him....identify your self to me and I will, at 54 with a terminal heart condition, get in a ring and beat the living daylights out of you!!
He's a psychotic war criminal.
Anyone know the beautiful piece when Ben was honoring the fallen soldiers?
Hans Zimmer - Leave no man behind - Blackhawk Down Soundtrack
Pretty boy think better as an actor !
i can't stand this interviewer, talks to us like we're all slow or something
A HERO RARELY TALKS ABOUT HIS HEROISM --- HE MAY BE ONE OF THE FEW ---- THEN AGAIN.
Ben you are being Hypnotised to shut you up.
Always was and Always will be a hero. Afghanistan trying the Taliban? Nah, too busy executing women for working.
@@mikem9001 you know it all do you inbred twat usa killed more people in Afghanistan than anyone else save the parade
Thats what we do, who dares wins.
He been to Afghanistan so many times, they gave him an Afghan Passport!!!!!!
why didnt the apache gunners help? and why didnt he pick up the RPG gunner from the guy in the shed that he killed and use that to neutralise a machine gun?
Because this isn't Call of Duty.
If the Lunch box story wasn't true, how did anyone find it Ben?
If the enemy is right in front of you with a bloody RPG well you shoot him.
This is how they sell it.
He who dares Rodney! You plonker. Jokes aside bless you and sasr. From all in the uk.
So.. anyone got the latest on the legal issues facing Donaldson VC?
@@leonardsargent5888 I've noticed that.
And now being investigated for murdering an innocent farmer
Loves a pose with people drinking from a prosthetic leg of a defenceless man he is alleged to have murdered, and hiding images of himself doing so from authorities conducting investigations into his alleged misconduct. What a disgrace and utter disappointment. Counting down the days until his arrest.
unfortunately i can't because it has third party content. sorry
This Man earned the VC, yet the Army hasn't promoted Him to a higher rank. Wtf else does He have to do?
Who's the girl in the yellow dress? :)
The media won’t let him get away with anything.
Charlz, you should try looking at what the Taliban has done in Afghanistan and their plans for the future, if you can stomach it.
I could not defend nor protect my Vulnerable Elderly critical ill Mother. The most I could do was to minimized Medical Malfeasance Onsaults.
He got a model of being a murderer
he gave his life for us
Yep because so many of our Australian "freedoms" exist in Iraq and Afghanistan.
His family is in Australia and not in Afghanistan.
He may have done some heroic things and fought hard for the army but killing innocent people is very wrong and he should be held to account if he is found guilty
the vc medal is good but to ben his buitiful wife and twinn daughters far outways the vc medalby along shot
This didn’t age well
Nothing you wrote made any sense.
Respect. But if he believes in freedom what was he doing in Afghanistan? Now, don't get all insulting and hysterical especially if you aspire to be SAS yourself.
Morbius1963 good question dude
Morbius1963 maybe to get reed of the terrorist Taliban/ al Qaeda and give the afghan ppl the freedom to live their life normally for once. I don't no I could be wrong. but I just hope if they do kick out or kill these terrorist I just hope every country that is in Afghanistan that were working together to defeat the enemy could get together and help rebuild the country and the afghan ppl and show them that they can trust us and we do care about them. but once we finish I hope we don't try and tell them how to live their life's or how to run their country but if they need advice then we should be their for them
Morbius1963 sorry I prob don't no what I'm talking about and I prob didn't make any sense what I said
Morbius, he was in Afghanistan BECAUSE he believes in freedom.

Your post fails on all three counts.

Murdering dog
The ABC tried hard to discredit Ben and others in the SASR and Commando regt. Same on them. Ex 5/7 RAR.
I'd like to see the little runt journo from 60 minutes single handedly take out 2 Taliban machine gun posts
