OMG, I'm from the Philippines and also, I love watching and hearing about writer's journey, they're always so inspiring. As an aspiring writer myself, my heart just leaps whenever I see other writers succeed in their passion.
Today is my first year as a sophomore in high school. We did a few ice breakers but one of them held a question asking. “Do you enjoy writing?” Possibly, If I was in 9th grade I’d put a big X on that. I have always been told I was a good writing but no one ever told me what it meant to be ‘good at writing’. So I stayed far away from it until I had to do it again for reports. It wasn’t until I read a few books, (one of which being ‘leaving wishville’) which sparked my creativity. ‘Maybe books aren’t so bad.’ I thought. ‘But no one writes nowadays. Only old people do it.’ I put myself in that mind space for awhile- but still enjoyed reading regardless. It wasn’t until I was looking on reviews for my favorite books. Then stumbled upon your channel. ‘A teenage author? That’s incredible! Almost unheard of!’ I was immediately whisked away into the wonderful style and the fact that you’re a teen writer- just like me. Now it doesn’t seem as abnormal anymore for me to write a little story on characters I made or request a writing assignment instead of multiple choice. Now, going back to that question from earlier. “Do you enjoy writing?” I put “Yes, I do.” On the text. The teacher who received it probably doesn’t read those and if she does- she won’t be able to read my hand writing because it’s so bad. She probably didn’t think anyone was thinking as vividly about that question. It was probably more of an academic thing than a hobbyist thing. Though, Never the less- thank you for creating content here on your channel. I was able to find like minded authors thanks to you and as well as see anything I write as not something to consider- ‘weird’ or ‘abnormal’ but it stead see it as just like any other hobby others do. Your channel has really inspired me to write and create in ways I never had before and be more open and transparent about my work, even if there’s problems with it I’d take those problems and spruce it up; good as new So thank you, Mel. This book is surely going on my reading list.

When I was 14, i made a rough plan for a 6-book crime urban fantasy series split into 2 3book eras. VERY ambitious, too ambitious perhaps I was. Regardless, the following two years I completed book 1 of each era. Book 1 of era 2, the first one I wrote, doesnt work at all. Its horrible. Book 1 of era 1 I think works pretty well, but needs a lot of work to be actually good. I have temporarily abandoned the series to work on other projects, but I am definately going to come back some day and flesh it out.

a similar thing happened to the project I'm working on right now- I had no experience or knowledge of what I was doing when I started writing a novel when I was 12, and it was awful. It wasn't even my idea, my friend encouraged me to do it and when she moved, I quit. but i picked it up again recently and I'm having so much fun with it, and the new connections I've made really make it all so worthwhile. Being a part of the Belladonna Trilogy is so inspiring, i think I'm so lucky to be contributing to this project. I can't wait to see what you have planned, good luck!

Wow. I'm completely speechless. This is truly inspiring! As a 13-year-old who wants to publish her own book, this video really speaks to me! Since, well, I wrote a 53-chapter fanfic last year (which we do not discuss) and reading it now makes me cringe because there is so much I could fix to help improve it. I've had a lot of story ideas, but when I start writing them, I get bored very easily. I guess I haven't had an idea that has piqued my interest yet. It's funny. I'm older (by quite a bit) but just last night started thinking about the idea of reworking a book I wrote in 2005 and this video hit JUST at the right moment.
This is my fifth attempt at writing a book that I've had in my brain since I was seven years old (yes I started writing it at seven) and I finished it! I hope to publish sometime soon!
I’ve finished and edited the book I originally wrote at 11 and while I’ve been nervous to enter the publishing world, rejection won’t hurt as much when I can use that age as an excuse.

I don’t get how u did some of the publishing stuff when not being 18. Everything seems impossible when ur under 18. Also I wonder were your parents okay with all the business stuff u do and moving.
