@Essenger Gross use of Dance With the Dead's THAT HOUSE melody...... You might as well just credit them? Same goes for Exopolitan which pumps the melody from SKELETONS IN THE ATTIC of the same album (B:Sides Vol 1)...... Great tunes otherwise!
on second listen the arp does sound very similar to the one in That House, though , that def wasn't intentional ;^; Surprisingly Ive never heard Skeletons in the Attic before, but I do see your point. The problem with the darker style synthwave is there's a certain type of minor arpeggio scale that is very frequently used and it's hard to find one that's not at least similar, I hear a lot of these artists coming up with almost (and sometimes) the exact same arpeggio patterns. In the case of Exopolitan it's just your standard 5th-octave arpeggio with only a few note deviations that happened to coincide. Every time I write these simpler minor scale arps I'm always scared I might be ripping off a song I've never heard in the same genre. While I was writing one of my other songs I came across a PYLOT song I'd never heard before with an almost identical pattern to mine, so I had to change it. But yeah I can assure you the similarity wasn't intentional although i do kinda feel bad realizing this:/

@@prozekutor For sure, i will be careful to watch out for that going forward. If it ever came down to a case like that where my melody indeed was far too similar and the artist believed so too I would probably just suck it up and credit them even if I hadn't heard the song. I hope we're not running out of usable melodies! Thanks for understanding and I appreciate the sub!
