Sound is fab. Can't you just try a bit of tape first before potting , like the lollar? I think the "G" is an indicator of which direction the pickup were wound(check it out) some were wound with top to rhe left/right, top or bottom of bobin , magnets facing away from operator or towards them, just can't remember specific "G" mark on the bottom. Mine has same. March 65.
I think the tape on the Lollar is just to protect the winding which is a great idea. I wouldn’t have damaged my pickup if it had that tape. I think the Lollars have to be potted because tape would not stop the squeal. Light potting is the way to go. I also did a video on that process even though I did two videos, one showing how not to do it, 😂, and one the successful way.
I'm not sure if he is still doing it. He had my pickup for 2-1/2 months because of other life issues and making his pickups for special orders. I think he charges $100 for a rewind. Just contact him and see what he says. rumpelpickups@gmail.com
Rusty, yes, I've been working on them since I got the 1960 in 2007 I think. It has been a great learning experience with a lot of ups and downs. Right now, I'm pretty sure I'm on a permanent up until I wear out the NOS tubes that are fairly new in both amps.
Thanks for that. I noticed it and couldn't figure out what was going on. It's a new Rode Wireless Go II so I better go back and figure it out. It was working fine on previous videos.
Yeah, it's a dual channel wireless system and I apparently set it in split mode when it should have been in merged mode. Thank you for pointing it out. I'm surprised the guitar sounded okay. It was on split mode too.
Hey man, apparently you have videos of a bassman/vibroverb together. Could you by any chance email those to me? I would love to see them, thanks so much!

That was some electrifying playing! Glad you didn't get shocked!

Do you fix and maintain your ‘59 and ‘60 Bassmans?. Hitting a brick wall on my ‘60 4x10 Bassman

Did he use the original wire, or new wire.
He used new wire. He tried to get the old wire unwound but it was too brittle. We were hoping we could just take off wire until we got to the break.
@@millstap bummer, yeah they are really brittle
Your voice can be heard only from left ear and it's pretty low too so, i think it was on mono? Just saying so you notice :) Guitar was fine.
