    Don't forget Jack Dempsey's
    Right-Cross, it's the counter
    punch that immediately follows
    your opponent's left jab,
    your right hand instantly
    punches in a crossing fashion,
right over the top of his jab.

I noticed something here, when using pad work theres no slamming the focus pad into the punch like is the current practice in boxing

Why are these drills teaching: To wait for someone to throw the first punch and then "slip it" and counter?..... Good Luck with that...Bruce could do that, but how many average people can? Finger jab to the eyes before they throw the first punch would be the most efficient and practical...I guess this drill could be for: If you did not see an attack coming and had to try to "slip it"...I guess you better pay more attention next time...

You have to isolate drills to develop muscle memory and make movements instinctual then can start to “freestyle” and then want trainer to try to hit you this type of mitt work way better than what see today. Most ppl stick with set patterns

Attacking someone first is not defensive and can get in a nice prison stint for assault. Hardly self defense if you end up having to look over your shoulder for the next eighteen months in the showers

That is the essence of JKD. It's a counter-attack martial arts.

@@mybluebreeze1995 I would rather plea my case to a judge then possibly end up paralyzed or dead..I'm advocating attacking first if: You can't run or move out of striking range AND it's VERY clear that this person is bent on your destruction. Self defense is about survival...

@@davidletterboyz VERY difficult for AVERAGE ( Which includes most of us ) to do. Bruce had a very fast neuromuscular system and trained like an Olympic Athlete. If someone fits into that elite group than I think Jeet Kune Do is an obtainable method of Self Defense
