Cried for a boat but not her daughter in law. Great role model.
This is a reminder that nothing lasts forever. This is probably the end of an era. She was and will remain one of the most important people from Britain. Condoleances to the people of the United Kingdom. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Thanks ❤️
This is not only the end of Elizabethan era, but the beginning of end of Britain as the country.
Important for WHAT? Seriously 🙄

We miss you everyday. Still thinking you’re with us, like “normal”. Still thinking you’ll make an appearance or wonder “Where has the Queen been?”. We are reminded of your loss everyday but the legacy you leave lives on in us all. Over 100 days later the grief is still as raw as that Thursday afternoon.

Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
21st April 1926 - 8th September 2022
The Queen must feel very exasperated sometimes when she thinks back to how different the streets and the people were. I notice my town changing in a decade and feel lonely, she has witnessed the whole nation do so many times over. She is of strong will to say the least.
She passed away

And now, she's gone. RIP And long live the king!
70 years on she’s been amazing. What a woman 70 years on throne.
A long reign she had, may her soul rest in peace
At the very end of the 2010s, Elizabeth II is still on the throne at age 93. Her husband is still with us at 98. He just gave up his car keys, but the Queen still drives when in Scotland.

Her majesty has served her country well. I wonder how she was feeling underneath, because I believe she had a really good relationship with her father! I wonder if she felt like hiding in a corner and sobbing her heart out, but her she was composed, and gracious! May the Lord grant her longer life so that she can reign for a few more years (typing this in 2020)!

People I think don't really comprehend the significance of the Queen. She is head of all the tribes, clans and alders., of the British Isles. .
Don't say British Isles its offensive
@@fionanmurphy4107 Why is it offensive ~ and to whom?
@@fionanmurphy4107 Over a thousand years ago the church brought all the tribes, clans and their elders together to a big pow wow (meeting) , and pledge allegiance to one monarch. It stopped them constantly fighting each other.
The reigning Queen Elizabeth II is the 61st monarch from that unbroken line established by the Church. It's why the monarch takes vows in the church at their coronation.
@Fíonán Murphy i understand, but is it intended to include Ireland, or the islands that are in fact part of British territory? Example - Isle of Man. I have both English and Welsh blood, so i feel like i understand both perspectives at once. I don't think it was intended to mean Ireland, but i may be overlooking historic use of language. I'm very tired, on a phone and have cold feet. But i assure you Irish independence is recognised and i don't believe any contemporary readers would regard a reference to British Isles as meaning "Ireland".
@Fíonán Murphy Quite interesting really. Just peered at a Wikipedia page. I have mixed feelings about the semantics of this - it's one of those things where on one hand i feel like is this a storm in a teacup over a couple of letters, because in UK law the Channel islands and Isle of Man are referred to as British IslANDs.
On the other hand, language obviously conveys meaning. i suppose there's only a few letters difference between "yes" and "no", after all.
So on one hand, part of me kind of eye rolls. Because i think the contemporary reader would read "isles" and "islands" as the same thing.. One is said to be offensive, the other is law, yet i feel no one in the 21st century is likely to think "isles" means "Ireland".
On the other hand, who wants to blatantly ignore the historic struggles of a modern nation state to gain independence? If changing a couple of letters is more respectful and demonstrates recognition of history, what's the problem, etc?
Wikipedia seems to suggest that views on whether this term is offensive are mixed. I think the upshot seems to be it's interpretive, but i will be mindful in the future myself that some Irish folk may recoil, so i'll avoid it myself.
That said, and not to make light of the Irish struggle of independence, the Irish often have a great sense of humour. These days we so frequently can hardly say anything without having to make micro-adjustments to avoid offence, and i wouldn't be surprised if it was possible to see a humorous side to this, given that it basically comes down to the letter E.
This reflexivity need not take away from the real history.
Hope that makes sense.
RIP Queen Elizabeth II 1926 to 2022
Gone but never forgotten . Britain would no longer the same without you
