  • Named after the highest mountain in the Alps, this fountain pen actually comes from Hamburg and is more than just a writing instrument. Mont Blanc's fine nibs are still symbols of style and taste, even in the computer age - just like the original "masterpiece" from 1924.

I recogize this and feel the same! The craftmanship is wonderful. I have owned many, many quite expensive luxery pen’s but fell in love with Mont Blanc. The nib, the feeling of the entire pen is wonderful. The deep feeling that it’s my pen and personal handwriting. Wonderful!

The good features of this pen are its a very good nib, the style, and the filling system, but unfortunatelly is not so good pen, the beautiful precious resine breaks easily and the reparation of the beautiful precious resine is more than 80 euros, I will never buy this pen again. If you want a durable pen, don't go for this one, this one is just to sign important documents once in the life time and then keep it in a box. Maybe better you can rent it.

Those precious resine is basically plastic, not even as good as acrylic resin which is kinda disappoint in its price range

Why, I got a 149 and a 146 from my father who passed away some years ago; the 149 is from the 1960s, the 146 from the 1970s. Both are still shiny and pretty and without cracks, etc. I enjoy and use them quite often, and I am very pleased with them.

Para firmar documentos una vez en la vida,no hace falta comprar nada, cualquiera te deja un boligrafo de plastico.Si coleccionas estilograficas y eres caligrafo entonces tienes una buena coleccción como tengo yo.

I though Meisturstuck meant something else.
So I bought a 159 as I thought with the higher number it must be better. Jinhao rules nowadays. More inclusive. Less Exclusive.

David R. I have a Mont Blanc fountain pen which I have owned for some years. It has suddenly decided not to work and dries up very quickly. It has turned out to be a big disappointment. I have many other different makes of pen which I have had as long or even longer which give me no trouble. Mont Blanc is NOT the best!!!

*I have 9 fountain pens and I can tell you that montblanc is overpriced for nothing. I have less expensive pens that write way better than montblanc.*

Some high end pens are unique enough to be worth the price tag, for example, I would definitely pay 500-600 dollars for a Visconti Homo-sapiens because there simply is no other way to get a pen made of volcanic rock. But I agree, the Montblanc does not bring anything new to the table that warrants such a high price, It's literally a resin pen with a gold nib.

RK NINE I disagree. I own 75+ fountain pens... Among them 15 Montblanc, modern and vintage. I also have several other high end pens like the Homo Sapiens. I will state that the build quality and nib performance of the modern Montblanc's is superior to all other pens I own. As a package they are unsurpassed. They are expensive, but to say other pens are way better is not true. Its up to everyone's personal value system to decide whether to pay or not...

Agreed. I recently purchased a pre owned Visconti HS and can't imagine a better writing experience. There are no doubt "better" pens out there...more than I'm willing to spend the money on...It just seems to be a point where you start to see diminishing returns outside of the construction and materials of the pen.

I guess they have to write well at that price because from a distance they're barely distinguishable from a jinhao.
