Some context/corrections: The W12 is still in production for the moment. You can order a Continental GT with a W12 until April of this year. After that it's just the V8 for the rest of the year, with a V6 hybrid joining it next year. Despite the engine seeming rather far forward, the weight distribution is 55:45 front:rear compared to 58:42 of the last generation, so it's improved. That 55:45 weight distribution is the same in the V8 and the W12. Part of the reason it handles so well is because this generation was co-developed with the Porsche Panamera rather than being based on the VW Phaeton and the Audi A8. Body roll is minimized due to the active anti-roll bars (Bentley Dynamic Ride in their parlance). It's standard on all W12 models and the Azure (and the S), but is an option in the base V8. The top can be raised and lowered up to 30 mph. Bentley say the convertible with the top up is as quiet as the last generation coupe.
W12 production ends in April, but according to two Bentley dealers whom I enquired with a few days ago (in the UK), W12 orders unfortunately ceased in December and you can only purchase stock... I'd like to hope they're wrong but there you have it. There will also be a hybrid of the V8 which both were keen to ask whether I was interested in with the upcoming facelift (likely a variant of the powertrain in the new Panamera Turbo) as Bentley will be hybrid only from 2026
@@jpl8878 I've heard the V6 hybrid is quite inadequate. Really only there for tax reasons, especially in China where the Maybach S class, Aston Martin DBX, etc. can also be had with a 6 cyl because higher capacity engines are taxed to death. V8 hybrid should be a much more compelling effort that matches or exceeds the W12 in almost every way, although it still feels a shame it's gone.
The way that car was taking those turns says more about the suspension and the tires than anything else. Kudos to all the people who worked on them, because they deserve it
I feel as though this generation of Bentley Continentals are more akin to an enthusiasts luxury car. for something that weighs over 2 tons, it rides exceptionally well with the perfect amount of performance for someone who wants to turn up the dial while on a nice backroad, or empty highway. Definitely a car I would love to get my hands on in the future.
thanks tedward for reviewing my dream car! i remember always requesting you to do a video on a continental gtc v8 and you did exactly that. thanks so much!
Driving through the canyons in your Conti GTC, top down, listening to the V10 in front of you is just picture perfect. The spec is phenomenal even though I've been kinda over dark red paintjobs for the past year or two. I remember a few years back I was talking with a friend of mine and he was on the team Conti, whereas I was team Dawn/Wraith. I must admit, I think I'm team Conti at this point too. 😁This one, the green one Luke from Cars with Luke shot and some other press car in navy blue & cream if I recall correctly that was shot by some other YTber in Monaco or French Riviera are the three most beautiful Conti spects I've seen. Definitely my dream luxury GT cabriolet at this point.
Minor technical point, but the latest generation of the Bentley Continental and Flying Spur are on the MSB platform shared exclusively with the Porsche Panamera, not MLB which the Bentley Bentayga, Porsche Macan/Cayenne, and Lamborghini Urus use that's shared with all the normal Audis. MSB is a true rear-wheel drive architecture that's front-mid engined, albeit admittedly only a very minor portion of the engine being "mid". Thought I'd throw that out there as there seems to be the impression the Continental is a rebadged Audi, when it's actually a rebadged Porsche, which is why it handles so well!
Just took ownership of a 2019 Panamera and couldn’t shake the feeling of its cabin looking very similar to this, especially with the same spec 2 tone. No complaints on my end, but for >$300k, a Bentley shopper could buy a Panamera AND a 911
I love that red - no, I love the color combo itself of that red with the two-tone black and red interior. That is a cool spec. Most Bentleys I see are just black, gray, or silver - granted, I don't get to see the interior if I encounter them on the highway.
I want one of these so damn bad. This spec is gorgeous. I wonder for a reliable also very gorgeous third of the price…maybe a Lexus LC500 would suffice? Hmmm
"I cant understand" its because its a porsche panamers turbo s underneath 😀 Take the best 4 door sport sedan and give it to a coach builder. As ive become an "old" man in my 30s. This is my dream car. Maybe not gtc.
With all the technology in vehicles today making bad driver even worse, it's truly uncanny that the front hood and glove don't come with standard power buttons.
Huge thanks to Grid Forge for sponsoring this video! gridforgemfg.com

Correct, if you now want to order a Conti its indeed V8 only, W12 orders ended on the 31st December to allow production of it to ends in April 2024.
@@user-ei3kz5dv4u I didn't know they were releasing a hybrid V8 as well, I thought it was V6 only. That's good news

Adding this to my list of dream cars. The car is perfect in every way!
...almost 500K! Great job. Great video as always. Bentley's rock.
Beautiful car. Thank you for taking the time to film these awesome cars for us!
You and Harry are my favorite car reviewers. I got hooked on your work when your reviews the old panamera gts and I bought one because of it.
That is incredibly kind of you! Thank you
Missing those roads rn! Also that’s an ideal 3 car garage right there
I worship these english gts, db12 ,spectre, continental etc
And what about Ariel, Caterham or Lotus
That interior looks good

So sick together with the DBX 🔥🔥
I had this playing in the background while doing something else and thought it sounded like a Huracan, it's a good thing I rewinded a bit
u ROCK Ted
That is an exceedingly luscious car...
love the classic audi buttons on the wheel
Almost at 500k subs!
*oodles has been added to vocabulary*
Two British beasts with two different German engines😂. I’ll take the GTC 👏🏼
Backroads in states kinda cool ngl
good job
It's impressive how the same it looks to other generations while looking dramatically cleaner and more modern

Have you ever looked into driving an Eagle Talon? Recently got one and I'm surprised how rare they seem to be.
What? The wind screen doesn't auto fold down when the top goes up? I'm out! LOL like I could even afford it. Glad you got the chance to drive it!
The engine is a Porsche product not audi, exact same specs has the Panamera turbo.
It was a comment about placement.

I loveeeeeeeee youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu tedward❤❤❤❤ you are the best car guy❤
Actually te EA825 V8 is a Porsche-developed engine and is built in Zuffenhausen.
Im taking my azure admin az 104 course tomorrow and wanted a break from studying... azure leave me alone
azure gang rise up
Just need the Bentley girl to complete the experience haha
However, the wind diffuser is straight from Audi a5 convertible. I wonder what else’s from Audi )
What's with the floppy glovebox? I im also sure the floor mats are standard vw with a Bentley logo.
It's missing the beautiful wood of the old Bentleys, but it is still very nice!
You can still option wood veneer. It would replace the piano black everywhere except the center area around the gear lever.
With all the technology in vehicles today making bad driver even worse, it's truly uncanny that the front hood and glove don't come with standard power buttons.
Ted you can’t compare the Bentley to Aston Martin, 4 x 4 that’s unfair lol is that Aston the 007 version, they say its the fastest SUV in the world
Sounds like the perfect comparison
@@TedwardDrives love the videos brother
@@TedwardDrives just brought a bmw m3 to go along with 2014 gt speed Bentley love them cars
We have an abandoned criysler New York or town it is a v12 It’s not our car but it’s abandoned from Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 so ❤❤
Honestly idc how many cylinders there are as long as theres good sound and power lol
How does one elevate to this cash level please?
So basically it’s a 2dr convertible Audi S8+
Is it an Azure? Doesn't the Azure have vertical grill slots?
Says azure on the car and the build sheet and Bentley corporate gave us the car and calls it an azure
Interesting, thanks for the clarification
For 2024 onward, yes. Prior to that all variants had the same mesh grille.
I take 12 of those :D
3:12 Cost cutting in a Bentley lol
Never liked the VW-era convertible Continentals lookswise and this one is no exception. The old, „real” Azure was the thing…
That's not a hard-top, isn't it?
its certainly reinforced and solid but not technically a hard top no

Gotta have the legendary W12. The generic VW V8 is a bore ...
I think this proves it is not a bore...
I understand a W12 is more special, but if the car is overall more balanced and more fuel efficient, it's not a bad choice.
@@TedwardDrives it's not the same, but I get it
Awesome as always! ❤️
