Hey Doc, Sorry to hear about your mom. My mom would have been 93. She passed at 38. My aunt, my mother's sister just turned 90 in Feb. Good job on the Palomar.
Good evening TramDr. That is beautiful your mother is 92. I lost my mother 88, 2019. God bless your and your family. BUG aka 654 Las Vegas Nevada. BUG 🐛 🐞 in the Desert 🏜.
I had a Palomar 350Z back in the late 70's and even then the output caps were trashed (seems to be a thing with Palomar). I had to replace those and two of the four 6LQ6 main output tubes. The drivers were still ok, and it would easily do around 500 watts on a 6 element beam antenna. Pretty nice old amps!😄
Prayers for your mom. You’ve been saying for a couple years no more working on other peoples stuff so this customer must be special. Thanks for the video. PS that fan noise was annoying.
I’ll pass along prayers and best wishes for you and your family. As the saying goes, nobody will get out of this life alive. But it don’t hurt to have support when it does happen! Re the Palomar amp, I’ve owned several of their products thru time. Amps, antenna current meter, and my prized HF direction finding amplifier/antenna. Good stuff!
Wasn’t Palomar known as Bramco in the 70’s and 80’s? I see the are at the same address in northern Ohio. Bramco specialized in add on signaling equipment and selective calling decoders for public service and private companies.
That noisy fan would drive me mad! 😮 I lost my mum nearly 3 years ago, to cancer. She was 76. I still miss her every day. ☹️
THAT TRANSFORMER WAS ONE NOISY PUPPY 😂🍺🍺
It’s the fan
Pretty sure that was that noisy little shaded pole fan motor you were hearing.😉 Nowadays you can easily replace them with an 80mm computer fan or 2.
