I playing a Paladin since the server opening and I really like to share to you all about my perspective about Paladin, so I making a guide for you guys.. :)
I saw some people making a Guide about Paladin (where to hunt, equip builds) but, doesnt suit me well..

I saw a comment from another video and someone was highly recommending this channel for Paladin build - I was not disappointed. I'm so glad this build suits what I was looking for and will keep watching this video to get the hang of it. Hello sir, just in case you didn't know. Dagger for small targets, sword for medium targets, spear for large targets. This also affects shield skills like shield chain and shield boomerang.

This guide is very well put together but I have 1 question. What other skills should you put points into after you become Paladin. You only mention shield boomerang.

Hi just want to ask instead of Goibnes set, would it be okay to go with cat blessing set? The one with shield, armor, garment, shoes and headgear.
Untiered set gives the following stats:
-25% dmge from L size mobs
Def +150
Neutral damage -9%
Movespd +5%
HP +1075 SP +75
Int +5 maxHP +10% maxSP +10%
Vit +3 HPrec +10% SPrec +10%
Plus they're cheaper to slot and add cards.

Hi Victori, when should I start to farm for equipments? Currently I'm a lvl 35 swordman and still sticking around with whatever equipments I found.

Hi papa. Since we hunt dustiness and punk (small size). I guess you can put 1 point only into cavalry combat just for peco in early game to save skill point. Do you think it is better? Cos we dont need aspd.

Yeah, Bash Build also a Great Build..
The damage might be on par with Shield Chain or even higher..
But Bash Build not that popular..

hi love your vid, for spear Ivory, Cardo or Saint? How bout shield? Saint too?
Ivory is for Attacking..
Cardo is for Tank..
Saint is good for leveling if you have enough damage..
About Shield, Mirror Shield for Damage..
Saint for Leveling if you can kill monster without Mirror Shield..
Best for Tank is Imperial Shield
Nice channel sir, may i ask a question? , i am now a level 84 paladin, with vit 99+68, dex 40+20, and the rest is on strength. I got 3 pieces of goibne set except for the greaves. Got a +6 light saint shield and +4 level 2 cardo. With 2 vit necklace. I also have 1 shield boom rune activated. But my shield boom output damage is still low, around 18k against Punk. Is there somethings wrong with my items?
No, thats good enough.. You need converter anyways..
And we will buy some cards that add damage in the end..

In the mid of the second row from the map..
Auto Attack-Melee character will going to the left or right of the map..
But SB delay will make you stay in the mid.. (bottom of the swamp)

No.. Shield Boomerang not affected by Size Modifier

86+, go to Orc Lady try to 1 shot or 2 shot Orc Lady using Shield Chain

Sir. For this build, which skill is the main attack (Shield Chain or Shield Charge or Bash) while SBoom is on cooldown? And why shouldn't we max Shield Charge instead of Shield Chain since some of its damage is from VIT and DEX?
Bcoz shield charge damage not that great.. xd
Hello. Is this mainly for a shield chain/boom build? How about for a bash type? Isn't the upgraded cutlus sword better rather than a spear?
Yeah, Nagan is the best..
But its a bit odd I think..
If you want to go for Bash build, better you playing a Knight/LK since LK have more Bash Rune than Paladin..
@@PapaVictori88 yeah I just thought it's really good. My crusader is level 72/36. 4 more to be paladin and leveling is tough as fuck.

Just changed job to Paladin. I tried grinding back on Dustiness after resetting to Dex 60 rest Vit, but SB is missing sometimes. It wasn't mentioned in the vid that 60 Dex is not enough to avoid misses on Dustiness, or do you have Hit bonuses from other sources?
Yeah, SB have a bad accuracy somehow..
But Total Dex 60 is enough, at least for me..
I'm very new inthe game, how would the stats work for the DPS and for the TAnk?

Use Saint Spear.. It give more value than Lance.. Help you a lot in leveling..

Papa, I have another question. I am already a paladin now and I have +8 Ivory lance will it be better if I change to +4 cardo in terms of grinding using shield boomerang?
No, ivory is better in term of damage..

Gan, bash build vs shield chain build menurut agan gmn? Paladin juga ada rune bash kalo ga salah, digabung dengan cutlus dan bongun card, damagenya lebih besar dari shield chain bukan? You need to be a LK first..
after that, you can go to your Status (Tab 3)
You need 500k to change to Crusader
Can you still continue to paladin if you change job? example from LK change to crusader.
You can change anytime with a fee of 10k zeny.
For spear can i directly buy Ivory Lance or should i start with Lance? What is Lance used for later on?
Yeah, this guide is made when Ivory is still quite expensive..

Your guide is very helpful but i am having problems with the equipment. The goibne set is hard to get and the shield. Is there any equipments that i can get easily instead of buying them or killing mvp's!!.
Goibne's is still pretty cheap compared to other..
Better to save some money and try to buy it one by one.. :)
Goibne's is cheap the most expensive part is the Shoes (3m). You can grind and buy the set one by one. You can get it pretty early.

Thanks to your guide, i just became a crusader. Refining lance until lvl 4 is expensive esp for new player. What is a better way to farm zeni or getting lance?
You can make Lance on Morroc,..
and you can refine it later in the game when you feeling like you need more damage.. :)

I'm a lvl 49 crusader, and Im only doing 3500 dmg at lvl 8 shield chian on lvl 5 spear mastery... how are u doing 6k+? I have +3 Imperial guard and +1 Ivory Lance

I'm lv 62 and wanna be a pure tank (70 vit, 30 dex for now)
But i still need damage for quest or farm, so i use spear mastery & quicken for it(only using basic atk) an the rest skill goes for tanking

I think your build is a bit slow for leveling in earlier game..
But its okay.. This is a grinding game after all..
Try to reach rank E so you can hire 2 cat mercenaries..
It help you kill monsters faster..

hello, I also would like to make a pure tank paladin but i have concerns stopping me from doing so. regarding the looting system during boss hunts and and other party related activities that gives loots, my question is, how are tankers going to receive the loots (when you are with a hunting party of course) since as a tanker it's more likely that you have the lowest DPS? thank you very much I hope that you can make more paladin/pure tank guides like this, may I suggest that you make a guide about paladins in pvp, I really enjoyed the last minutes of your video (pvp) but it was a little short
There are 2 looting system in party.. Make sure it is on "Assign" Mode..
In Boss or Mini Boss hunts, the loots will be given to the one who give last hit..
Not the most player who give damage..
If your party give the last hit, the loots will be randomly given to one of you.. XD
Need luck for that..

I also have a question regarding sacrifice skill, I have seen players using sacrifice and doing auto attack with the said skill but the HP deduction is very minimal, almost as if it's not 9% of the total HP per hit ( like what the skill description said) . Is it because of the runes or a card maybe? More power to you Papa Victori ^_^

You dont need it.. You can distribute to other skills if you want..

Sir im a LK lv 93 before i go job breakthrough do you suggest i try to build pally. Im just confuse bcoz i have to ditch all my items from Lk bash type to a pally tank. Ps all my equips are basic. Thanks
You can use Bash type to hunt as a Crusader till you are a Pally..
Same equip, Nagan, Bongun Card and Bash Rune.. It is quite viable..
Basic Equip for Paladin not that expensive though

Hi, i multiclass changed from Wizard to Crusader. My problem is he is lvl 82 but currently job is 20 as Crusader. Do you still recommend at Dustiness?
Wow, thats a hard question.. The exp you got will be lower due to penalty..
But, at your level.. Lv 82 is still good at Dustiness until Lv. 83..
So, yeah I think..

I am confused why you don't mention Metaller. I would recommend 2x SC Dustiness -> 1x SC Metaller -> 1x SC Dustiness for that 60-80 range.
Also, why max Cavalry Combat over Devotion? You only need one level to outrun the non-Knight/Paladins to get the one-hit kill in. Attack speed is mostly irrelevant. Devotion becomes valuable for tanking when the boss has AOE.
My recommended skill order:
1 Cavalry Combat
3 Shield Charge
10 Shield Chain
10 Spear Mastery (10 Divine Protection after reset for SB; 10 Heal if you are pure VIT/INT; switch back after Breakthrough)
10 Auto Guard
5 Devotion
1 Shield Charge
Well, this guide is a bit outdated.. :p (about cavalry)
But, I personaly still prefer on Dustiness than Metaller..

I want to reset my skills and get the spear mastery.Problem is I got the saint sword but not the saint spear.Currently in sword mastery. Not sure if I am changing my saint sword with ivory or other good spear. Is it worth it? paladin now tank shield build.

IMO: Dex first.. Going up to around 40..
You need that for no cast Shield Chain (Total Dex 60) to hit Dustiness

Hey Papavictori! I have been following your guide since i was a swordie, im a Paladin now. Vit99 and Int16. I just noticed that my SB misses 50% of the time.
What level are you?
In my opinion, the minimum Dex that we need is Total Dex 60..
And at level 80, it still misses a lot.. Maybe around 80% Accuracy
wanting to know is it 60 dex overall or 60 dex base for levelling?

You need to make your own hybrid build..
Vit 99 for tank support purpose..
A bit of agi for aspd or you may push aspd from buff..
Or better reset your build using ymir whenever you want to change your build.. XD
In your experience as a paladin. Isnt it hard to build up your gear those goibne sets if you are a pure tank paladin? Starting from 0 no premium or bcc top up?
Don't think so.. its still quite easy to collect a set.. the hard part is on refining and make a good status from enhancement..

Cardo is a Spear.. So no need for Sword Mastery..
Yes, it is.. Ivory is a good gear for Attacking

Green Pike for Tanking.. Ivory for Damage
Why is holy cross pointless until you get the lance from own MVP?

Goibne armor is a must, you can change the other based on your current zennys..

I do have some question from watching all videos and im hoping you can answer all off them.
1. in your videos about the final skill build for paladin you said that you need 1 for magnum break. may i ask why? (because i was thinking that instead of magnum break just put in Increase Recuperative Power to make it 10)
2. Correct me if im wrong but i saw on one video that you put spear mastery on one video and cavalry mastery. and on the other video you did not. so which one is most recommended.
(i prefer the skill point allocation on one of your video where you put
3-Shie.
10-Auto Guard
10-Shield Chain
5-Cavalry Combat
5-Cavalry Mastery
10- Divine Protection)
3. Regarding stats distribution the purpose of VIT for paladin but not the int can i just put in on str or what alternative stats can i put the stat points

1. I need Magnum Break to canceling the effect of my converter..
And I also can use MB to change my weapon Element to Fire property (even only for a while)
2. It really depends on how you want to build your character..
Cavalry Combat Lv 1 is enough if you only attack using skills..
Cavalry Mastery Lv 5 when you are in Shield Chain Build..
If I'm on SB Build, I only take Lv 1 Cavalry Combat..
3. I recommend you to put a litle bit on INT for SP Pool..
You may put it on str if you want to use Shield Chain..

1. for Shield Chain, spear have the biggest Atk base compared to other weapon..
But the main reason here is because we need to use Ivory..
Ivory's Ignore Def really good both at PVE and PVP..
and it increase Shield Chain and Shield Boomerang Damage pretty much..
2. Depends on your Build.. and what you like
Shield Chain Build will take 10 Retribution
Shield Boomerang Build take Lv 5 Bliss, (and may take 10 Faith)
Reflect Shield and Defending Aura good for PVP.. So yeah, I'll max that

Monster Resistance EXP Limit are based on your Level..
So with higher level, you will have more x10 EXP..

It will be.. Use 1x Shield Boomerang followed with 2x Shield Chain
I’m gonna mix the accesories to as long as i have ivory lance and mirror shield. If I have ancient cape, tights, vit necklace, frozen rose ring, craft cat beret, what else can i add? How about the greaves for farming? I’ll try to maximize my vit and str by mixing accesories/equips

Sacrifice need more HP for that.. and that means a good Gear with extremely expensive gear.. XD
But, I will try that build in the end game..

Does the skill (idk what its name ,the one that give 20% dmg to big monster ) affects the dmg of holy cross,chain shield,shield bom or grand cross?? Im pal 68 atm.

Yup, you can ride a peco when you are a Crusader or a Knight..
I literally just started on becoming a Paladin just now at level 70. I reset my builds and stats. My question is, what amount of Dex do I need? I am planning to be SB type, I am thinking maybe 30,40, or 60?
At least you need 60 Dex..
At the first level (70 to 80) you will feel that your SB miss a lot..
Thats why you need that Dex

1- Do I complete all main and side quests on south prontera before changing my job to swordman or do I only follow the main (red) quests and change it?
2- After changing my job to swordman, do I go straight to kill Willows or do I complete some quests to get some level to be easier to kill it?
3- Since it will be a fresh new server I won't have much money/materials or itens from other characters. When should I craft the Haedsomething sword? Which level, I mean.
4- Is the leveling build still the same? 40 STR, 60 dex than rest str 'till I'm paladin?
