Does that mean that using just one monitor display port doesn't work? I've tried its display port to hdmi it doesn't work, does that mean only hdmi and vga only work?
I just got one of these monitors as a gift. Looks good so far, but the documentation is really lacking. There's a single page "universal pictograph" kind of thing, and that's it.
I found the support page for this monitor (www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/product-support/product/dell-u2415/drivers), which hosts a REAL user manual and drivers and the "Dell Display Manager Application", which looks pretty useless to me. At least the manual describes all the gazintas and gazoutas, rather than leaving it to your imagination. I guess the USB ports are really a hub that lets me connect the monitor to the computer, and then I can connect a keyboard and mouse to the monitor, saving me a couple of cables. Why couldn't they have included this stuff in the box with the monitor? And an HDMI cable, too, for that matter?
Im thinking about using a usb-c to displayport cable to connect this monitor to my macbook pro, will this usb3 ports be usable for connecting peripherals to my macbook like a usb hub?
Display port, i think that the one on the left looking from behind (it would be the highest DP on this vid), its input, and the minidisplay port and the one under/on the right of the miniDP can be used for daisy chain, but for a more accurate info check on the dells web for the info, if its not there they have a rather good Q&A section on their web, aaand if thats not enough i think they have forums too.

You should have mentioned that the second DPort is an OUT Port only, not IN. People tent to connect their PC and wonder why its not functioning.
