I bought a used e6d about 3years ago for £500. I had bought a used Hummingbird just a few months earlier for £1500. Whilst I was playing the e6d my wife said it was the best sounding guitar I had and asked, like wives do, how much it cost. I replied, "a third the cost of my most expensive guitar" the bird. "Oh," she replied, "and how much did the most expensive guitar cost?" "Three times as much as this" I swiftly replied. She's still none the wiser but still loves the Eastman e6d the best.
i know this is a late comment, but that may have been one of the alpine spruce top models. if it were, thought, they should have put the little brochure stating that in the case...which i believe you would have mentioned. the lighter top makes me wonder. thanks for the good video.
What a difference a tiny twist of the tuning machines. Once you nailed it, it really sings! Those guitars kind of make me wish I hadn’t dropped so much money on my Martin dread. I do love it but…no campfire play with that one.
I played an E20 at a bluegrass festival campground jam last weekend and it was a great guitar. If this model sounds and plays as good as the E20 than it is a keeper. I was also playing a Martin D28 but that guitar is 3 times the cost of the Eastman. In my opinion, Eastman makes the best bang for buck guitar.
I know you have a ton of work with presenting, recording those fine instruments and with editing but some fingerpicking would be to die for. This E6DTC is a strong contender for my first proper acoustic.
Have you tried the E8D-TC? I think the only difference (other than +$300) the E8 has Rosewood back/sides and the E6 Mahogany back/sides. I would like to get your view on these differences and if it's worth paying the extra bucks for the rosewood?
Hey, do you by chance remember what gauge of strings was on this one? I've been testing this guitar yesterday at my local shop, and it was way brighter and had less mids, but there were maybe 11s on there.
Played an e20d. Used. Blown away by its playability and obvious no bull crap quality. So I went home and thought it over. And did some more research. Andddddd, it was gone. How would you say this matches up to e20d, vs e8d
This one one of the Eastmans with Alpine spruce top. Some E6 & E8 models got thermo cured Alpine spruce tops by mistake. A batch that was bought for Bourgeois Guitars. The just sold them for the same price under the same name. But you get a paper that gives some info about Florinett Alpine spruce. A very nice upgrade. I bought a E8OM Florinett without hesitation
@@KommammoK I see. Please tell us about it later. I just sold mine yesterday. It was a phenomenal acoustic. Very touch sensitive, punchy and with a lot of overtones. Almost reverb like. But I njoy my electric more so I sold the Eastman and kept my setup as simple as possible. A strat and and 57 champ amp. Does it for now. I’m sure your going to like yours 👍
You obviously haven't played one. Saying they are made in China is like saying a Larrivee or Boucher guitar is made in Canada. There is significantly less automation in their construction processes than in the Taylor or Martin factories. These are hand-built instruments.
Who cares, if it's beautifully made, sounds and plays fantastic then it is what it is, I own an Eastman but had the choice of big boy names.....I still chose it because it's great 😅

Ha love that!
Going between plectrums was brilliant! More reviewers should do this! 👍
Really does make such a difference. I find myself preferring much thinner picks on acoustic than electric.

Sounds great... Guitar and your playing
I love it. I have one of these, but it has the Alpine Spruce.

Buy a md60 Alvarez....2 friends of mine with 28's bought one after playing mine
Sounds great.. I'm torn between the Maton S60 or an E6D/E6DTC help!

Sorry we didn't do that enough in this video. We couldn't agree more that these Eastmans are truly amazing!
They do sound great finger picked, some beautiful overtones.
Did ya end up getting it?
@@kamarienedwards1757 yup. The quality is there. I like it. Although I must say I don’t have much experience with acoustics.
@@xkukubax I’m thinking about getting one of the alpine spruce if I can find it lol

Love your videos
Nice!

these come with 12's.

Hi! Great sounding guitar. What mics did you using recording it?
From what I can hear, it will give a D18 a run for the money.
Is it lighter because it isn't a torrefied Sitka top, but actually a torrefied Alpine top?
I think so. I have an alpine top e8om. Looks about the same
