Yes, it confuses a lot of people. The signal is used as an indicator for the spring switch, not for what trains may be on the way. The default aspect is green when the switch is lined for the UP and the signal will display yellow when the switch is lined for BNSF. A red signal is indicated when the spring switch is being used.
