Gotta love free boats, they're the only way we can afford the fortune it costs owning them. Just finished turning an old, abandoned sailboat into a crabbing boat for the summer and not sure why everyone is not doing it! small sailboats can be found for free all over the place especially if they don't have a mast, but they make great motoring boats with nicer than average cabins. Dropping her in the Sasafrass Labor Day weekend for the first time she has seen water since 1991. See you out there Luke! Give me crabs or give me death!!
Great job guys. It’s nice to see the younger generation actually do some work. You will do well and since you guys seem to get along when working there was no bickering, awesome. Keep up the good work. Uncle Scott
I have watched a few of you videos before and enjoyed. But this one is my favorite. And I am officially a new subscriber. Keep doing what you are doing, very inspiring. I am glad to know there are people like you left. Gives me some hope.
I done bailed out a 34ft skiff with a 5gallon bucket real talk didn't take long either but had my back killing me that day I went help a friend his skiff sunk an I did that by my self told him to sit back an watch me work 😂😂😂 he was old man
@@dirtybootsfishing me to or 3 Maine lobster boats and I've lost count of lobsters skiffs under 20 foot. either way you put two three guys on a boat with buckets or plastic shrimp shovels you can move some water, yes you'll feel it next-day
Knowing you, you'll figure out a way to turn the boat into something that can make you money in the off season when you're not crabbin. Awesome pickup.
Captain Luke, you made the Washington Post this morning! Photos and a few paragraphs done by Carolyn Van Houten. The article is called A capital summer. One photo has this caption “Crabs are a creature about as stubborn as the people catching them,” McFadden said as he sorted them.
It's a Most wonderful thing is to see a bunch of young millennials benefit from good old Hard WORK! And the risk reward of where there's a will there's a way! 👍😁
Cavitation is when the prop creates a vacuum behind it and it reduces the boiling point of water behind it enough to form vapor, which is very loud. Being air bound is something different.
Saw this on a youtube short, got interested, came to this video, this guy mentioned electrolysis and cavitation and I was like wow he's really smart I'm gonna look those things up. Just got back from a 2 hour deep dive on quantum mechanics and entanglement after steadily traversing further and further into complicated physics topics. Thanks Luke
There are bound to be some Yamaha lower units available at local shops or boat salvage lots to replace the broken repaired one. Once the fuel system is cleared of water you should be good to go. Cool video.
Need to create a twin or quad pontoon boat that uses those fully retractable ladders to adjust the width between the pontoons for recovering sunken small boats.
You just continue to amaze me. Thank you for the awesome videos and teaching me how to engineer things with what you have around. I have a small farm and engineering is what we do. ❤❤❤
I miss the Chesapeake Bay so much and all the Waterman that I befriended over the years. They are hard-working unusually hard partying group of guys. And I have found any problems that they bump into they can solve one way or the other. I was across the bay and a little bit below you guys on the Eastern Shore for almost 30 years . Take care and thanks for the video I really enjoyed it
Now that you are in the marine salvage business, you could convert that boat into a tow boat, and pull people back in that run out of fuel or have a mechanical issue and need a tow back to the marina or their dock. Then you could branch out with a larger boat with a derrick to swing a pump onto the deck of a boat that is sitting on the bottom but the deck is still above water.
A motor sitting in the bottom underwater. It fills with saltwater. Its amazing it started. I pulled a motor off a newly sunken boat to try to save the motor. It was totally effed. Corrosion begins immediately. The wire connections fail. Be careful with that motor or you'll find yourself stranded
JB weld it works on everything metal , you just mix it up and then just spread it out on the repair you need and let it set up for 24 hrs and just grind it off and paint it ;;
I raised a sunken sailboat. I waited for high tide, tied a cable to a piling on one side of the boat abd ran the cable under tge boat up to a piling on the other side using a cumalong to take up the slack. When the tide went out the boat came up. I then used a rental trash water pump to get the water out. Free boat.
A couple of big inner tubes tied to it, with air hoses attached, then turn on the compressor and bring it up to the point that you can pump it out. He didn't need to try and lift it with a winch.
@@egomaniac247 I suspect he’s got a bunch of scripts and video that he puts aside for when in need. He just forgot he used that on3 before. It was a repeat. I found the o5her one. The guy is burning a both ends. We’ll let it slid this once, once! Lol
Seems you arc welded the lower, isnt aluminum supposed to be heli-arced?, when i was a kid i took a welding class and tried stick welding aluminum it acted more like a cutting torch lol, may have been the amperage to hot, I did successfully weld some aluminum with a tig welder, but thats for tiny welds
Congratulations on getting your new free sunken boat that you're working your ass off to get it running . Hey whatever is clever you still got yourself à running boat .
Don’t know how this was recommended to me but watching young men troubleshooting and fixing broke stuff makes my day.
Men doing men things.

Brother. Don't ask for crabs. Lmao
Genius rescue. If only McHale's Navy and Gilligan's Island knew you around you could have saved all these sailors!

I know you can get a whole 5 gallons out at a time.
A paddle can bail out alot of water too lol!!!
@@streamin2605 I've never been in a situation where I needed a paddle to bail water. I'll keep that one in mind, use what you got when needed
Heard it from boat designer Jeff Spira RIP… best bilge pump is a scared man with a 5 gallon bucket
Great work! Now you have a skiff for beer runs to keep the crab boat at sea longer. :D
You did a great job! Way to go, and hope you’re still enjoying your new boat!
A stylish man! And all your crews make it transpire! Best wishes
Nice young guys, with a lot of common sense and hard work...love their competancy.
Most of the boats I’ve worked on have been on the bottom at one time in their lives.
In fact the Carol Ann was nicknamed the sub 😂✌️🇬🇧
Whoever filmed this in portrait needs jail time
No wonder it wouldn’t cast to my tv
Agreed! Vertical video should be illegal.
To be viewed on the phone
@ryanhernandez2414 phone and or TV is shit mate. Works for me and my partner.
For what?

I need a deal like that! What a great boat...FREE, theres no such thing! Hope you guys have a blast on it!

Job well done.👍
And you scored yourself a boat 🛥
Nice!👋
That captures my feelings exactly. 😊. Most excellent find
Nice find of a free boat... Good luck with it. I would fix it up too. I would love the same opportunity some day... Congrats 👏

One of the best videos i have yet to see ever on you tube. Nice boat bro!
Stick welding aluminum is such a pain, JB weld is your friend :)
Hahaha this is the same kid who made videos about making sketchy boat accessories and now he makes sketchy boats. Perfect!

"self clearance" going in the book!
Thats amazing the motor still runs
Good job
Those Yamaha's motor are beast, built to last. That's all I use for my boat are Yamaha and Suzuki's
Love the videos man !!!
@1:25 you need the untangler🔪 ?
@1:32 cant tie a knot, tie a lot.
😂😂😂
It writes itself
Have to appreciate this young man. Great attitude
You guys need to make large floats , how we lift rock when searching for gold, lift the boat right up.
A couple of big inner tubes tied to it, with air hoses attached, then turn on the compressor and bring it up to the point that you can pump it out. He didn't need to try and lift it with a winch.
congratulations, what a great job recovering the boat
water must have gone into the cylinders through the exhaust pipe..
I'm Impressed! Let me know if Lindsey is coming up Stoney Creek and I'll wave.
I never owned a boat. But I always heard. The best days of owning a boat is the day you buy it and then the day you sell it
With all the young guys there, they had to make an old man jump in the cold water..👏👏👏 bravo
" If you can't tie a knot...tie alot"...LOL...my boss used to say that
Luke, having been a welder for 25 years, I can attest how much of a pain in the a$$ aluminum rods are. You done pretty good kid! Much love from NC🤙🤙
I have a spool gun for that welding or a tig. Never in 50yrs have I used a stick lol I have used a torch back in the day.
Isn’t this repeat. I swear I seen this video before on this channel. Hey, I’m not complaining, I liked it the first time and I like it this this too.

It’s nice seeing the assembly of shorts videos
I got a free boat and jet ski, restoring the boat and cleaning the ski. Little hard work and determination go a long way.
Good job, nice recovery.
I like your style kid .
Hey Luke, whats the real reason the red marker bouy is on the right and the green on the left when coming back in?
Red right returning. Tell us why?
The propeller causes low pressure which causes the water around the propeller edge to boil and it turns into water vapor.
He probably knows that, but he was introducing A LOT of air bubbles in front of the prop with the broken lower housing/exhaust manifold.
Hell yeah bumpin some Berner!
Good job Captain Luke!!
Great work! Congrats on boat ownership. --from Coeur d Alene--
A free boat🙄. I am so bloody jealous👌🍷👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Way to go guys !
Great recovery an repair
That cover in the middle of the road was to a thermal king v 300 I do believe
How did the boat sink
Love it! So where is Webo today?
Congratulations on getting your new free sunken boat that you're working your ass off to get it running . Hey whatever is clever you still got yourself à running boat .
I have a question why did it sink in the first place?
Come down and Lee county Florida, there’s all kinds of sunken boats still left over from the hurricane a year ago. Some nice boats!
Cavitation is way more complicated than that bud, love the content and keep up the good work.
What makes the boat sunk?
Nothing more expensive than a free boat…..
The very definition of "free is too much" 😂
Was that berner playing at the end??
