    haven't listened to 'worship' music in years, but had to purchase their albums after sampling them on iTunes a few months back.
    SO REFRESHING. reminds me of the kids in Asthmatic Kitty (and maybe Mumford & Sons).

      Since when is loving your brother or sister considered NOT loving God? Im kinda of put off by your comment. I know you mean well, but dont try so hard to find fault. Damaris is clearly blessed by this music and appreciates what they've created. Telling the band he loves them in no way means he's not worshiping God through their music!

    Actually, (and I don't mean this to be rude) but the "piece", which is called a Jingling Johnny, is actually pretty fundamental to the overall sound of the song(s). It accents the kick drum and adds a "clapping" sound. Plus all of the personal touches and pieces he added to the Johnny really is the glue that holds the sound quality of the song together. Plus it's just stinking cool.

  • @OmnigearsWE
    @OmnigearsWE 12 лет назад

    Use your wrist ;) It just sounds how because of the double strums. You can try to practice on a flat surface by using your thumb for down strums and the other fingers for up strums (following the drum helps!)

    Mumford and Sons has never said they are a Christians. There music is certainly inspired by religious themes and terms. Mumford makes great music, and their lyrics are super poetic. They wrote the songs and their word choice (even the f-words) add to the emotions of the song.. (example: "broken crown" is such an angry song, the little four-letter-word adds strongly to the emotion)

    I don't disagree. I love Mumford and Sons. I would even say they're my favorite musical group. And my point was that they had never said they were Christians, actually. And I don't think that the f-word has a place in a song whether you are trying to convey emotion or not.

  • @pblathers

    stomp fiddle

  • @Airconditions5
    @Airconditions5 11 лет назад

    Totally respecting your opinion, its just a difference in mine I suppose. Not a fan of the f-word itself, but I'm a huge fan of word choice, and there just doesn't seem to be another way to convey "it was not your fault, but mine. and it was your heart on the line.. I really [MESSED?] it up this time.. didn't I my dear?" Messed up seems tame. Softer for the ears. But i think they wanted the harshness of the word. He totally spits it out, full of regret and sorrow. Just some thoughts..

      @Doug20VT 10 лет назад +2

      Fortunately, your take on christian music is not the way that it works. If you and I have opposing views on the christian faith then its probably negligible to try to mutually agree on this here and now. But even if it were the case that christian music, or worship music was just a feel good thing, why not be happy for those that feel good? There's enough in this world to feel bad about! Feeling good goes hand in hand with having hope, and hope is what these songs are all about! Wooo! feelin good!

    • @Yesica1993
      @Yesica1993 9 лет назад +3

      Never. Since your statement is false.
      Now, anything to say on the entirely BIBLICAL content of this song?

  • @voyagerfanatic
    @voyagerfanatic 11 лет назад

    Well, cept Mumford puts the f-word in at least one song per album which kinda ruins the Christian aspect of it for me....
