My son has a road train, pulled by a big Kenworth, based at Kalgoorlie. Of course, they're all side tippers. It's just a basic tool. of contracting. There are also a couple of large Dump Trucks, and three other large low loaders pulled by Kenworths, for shifting Caterpillar Bulldozers etc, and a fleet of large Excavators as well as innumerable other unique stuff. It all started with a 843 Bobcat, when he was about seven years old.
The Caterpillar 798AC IS NOT an electric vehicle, it has a 3,500 Cat C175-16 diesel engine (5,187 cubic inch displacement) which turns a generator which provides electricity to electric motors at each wheel, just like every diesel railroad locomotive on earth.
yu mean diesel railroad trains with electric motors - a lot don't have them - only the elite rich can afford those - some have them that get 500 MPG - so the diesel motors are only idling almost all the time - same as the dump trucks - it is said - Deisel is only Secord to coal in being what is killing our planet - HOPE the hell they hurry up and do away with petroleum motors all together - DAMNED killing machines - The dumb ssholes have to start somewhere -- before the damned planet DIEs !
I was particularly intrigued by the military-oriented vehicles, like the INKAS Huron and the Marauder. It's unsettling to think about how engineering is often directed toward creating machines that serve in war or conflict zones. While these trucks are built for protection and tactical advantages, it makes one question the moral implications of such advancements. Are we prioritizing military innovation at the expense of other fields, such as civilian safety or environmental sustainability? How can we redirect some of this impressive engineering talent toward solving global issues like climate change or public health crises? It’s a complex issue that deserves more discussion!
As an OTR truck driver, I believe the U S. could benefit from the use of similar truck trains. as Australia, but limited to triple trailers. it would cure our supply shortage issues. however the rest of the video was stupid.
Where on earth do you get the silly notion that "being an Australian roadtrain driver is one of the most dangerous jobs on the planet"?? That's just bullshit mate... Nothing dangerous about being a roadtrain driver. They're just truckies - with a long load.
Actually… You’ll be surprised that its common that the trucks that tackle the outback break down often, and there is a chance that you might be bitten by something…
Ok, while I enjoyed the video, I had one gripe. I wish you'd have focused either on super dump trucks or on suv/hvy duty trucks. The ones you had rocked both mine and smaller trucks. Still great vid, just more focus next time 🙂
You wished he had focused on super dump trucks, or SUV's and heavy duty trucks? Why? You seen one super dump truck, you've seen em all. All the other trucks fall into the other categories. Do you own a truck? jk. who cares.
These large trucks are not allowed in the Philippines. The government says it destroys the road and therefore the road contractor will have to spend more in road construction. Why? What's wrong with that?

1:50 I call BS on drivers getting stranded for weeks or months. Certainly many people know when and where the load was picked up and when and where it's scheduled to be delivered. If it doesn't show up on time do people just say "We'll give him another month, then we'll go out looking for him"? I would think, after a day or so late, people would start to wonder where the driver is. Also, are there really roads in Australia that no one will use for a whole month?
+1, I was just coming on to say so, total BS, plus he said locals dubbed them "Roadtrains", well yeah!! , That would be because we all do. The dude just gathered up a list of info and likely knew nothing bout trucks before that 😂😂
Yeah you're right and fleets of those trucks are going to continue to deliver fuel across the United States instead of a pipeline because my presidents an idiot
“Powerfully primed movers” I think you mean “powerful prime movers;” the term refers to the vehicle being the primary (in these cases only) source of power for the entire road train. The term is also used in the railroad industry to refer to the actual diesel engine that provides the power to generate the electricity that runs the motors on the axles. “Dumpster truck” They’re called _dump_ trucks. Did you really say “dessert” instead of “desert” while talking about the Inkas Huron?...

My 3 year old grandson throughly enjoyed it. ❤
Incredible work! This video completely changed my perspective on the topic. 👏👏👏
Don't drive next to a truck, or stop next to a truck at an intersection. Its tyre exploding from air pressure can kill and write off cars.
Those shares cannot be replaced. We are strong and open to vision
This guy always makes good videos with good sound info

Good for you mate!
It also seems that hardly anyone gives a rat's ass concerning where the electricity comes from. Oh! Electricity also comes from coal and oil?

wow. amazing 😍
$120,000 doesn't seem unreasonable for that truck. I imagine the mileage is poor.
Are their tires able to be penetrated or are they too thick to blow out?
Love the voice and the reporting of the man in the video
So wonderful
Bigger and better. loving these machines, especially that Cat 798
