SURVIVOR CAR? 1968 Chevelle SS 396 Convertible w/ TEST DRIVE!

- WOW! In episode 95 of ‘Cars, Shops & Collections’ we visit Mike Cimino to see his 1968 Chevelle SS 396 Convertible. This Chevelle is impeccable condition! Is it a true survivor car? We find out!
Mike is the owner of Collectors Dream Cars in Boulder City and has shared a few rare cars with us in the past BUT this episode is a little extra special as we head to Mike’s house to see part of his private collection!
This 1968 Chevelle has been garage kept its entire life and free from any accidents and features its original 396 engine! And talk about rare? A total of 365,800 1968 Chevelle 300’s and Malibu’s were produced and another 60,499 SS 396 coupes and 2,286 SS 396 Convertibles were assembled. That comes out to 383,085 Chevelle's built AND less than one-percent (. 059) were convertibles.
PLUS: Stick to the end as Mike gives a peak into a few more cars in his personal collection, including a 1966 Emberglo Convertible (the color was only used for one year), 1953 Buick Roadmaster that was owned by Mike Dikta, 1957 Thunderbird, and a 1967 Ford Torino GT Convertible!

My fav Vette yrs is the C2 1963-67 Stingray Coupe. Looks like your in Arizona. In 1973 I bought a 1968 Pontiac Beaumont. A Beaumont was the Canadian version of the Chevelle. Both Chevelle and Beaumont were built in the same plant in Oshawa Ontario Canada. Mine had the 327 4/bbl, but you could order the 396 which would have a side stripe emblem stating SD396.
