Funny seeing the tip about supressing after that huge score you just got on stream with no supression. GG X, keep up the great work!
I tried hardcore supression myself, and is NOT the way to go. It appears that the total stuff generated in the "supermarkets" increases regardless of the ammount of supermarkets appearing... so less buildings end having to move more product each (or something like that). I lost a game that went into max-zoomed out map where I only had 3 yellow supermarkets and yellow houses. I asumed I could go easily run that one for an infinite amount of time time, as everything was isolated, super-well connected with very-close-by houses... Yet the cars couldn't keep up with the demand. I know (from experience) the houses I had and the way I had them connected should have been more than enough (under normal circumstances) to easily take care of it... So yeah; apparently, if there are 3 "supermarkets" by the time you should have 9, they same to produce triple product each (or something along those lines) and you can't keep up even with several houses connected 1-2 roads away without intersections.
I personally only supress very briefly early on, just to try to get the 2 second house of each color closer to the road (as to avoid having to spend 4 roads and a weird curve to connect the second house to the closest route possible), and that's it. I have over 3K on every stage. My current best is 6K in Moscow (just increased it from the previous 2.7K earlier today).
@@Kaemonarch Yeah. I always thought that Xisuma was suppressing too much since his houses and destinations appeared on opposite sides on the map (not really in this video but usually in streams). The most important thing is not just to keep all colors separated, but to have a specific set of houses for each destination and to separate all of the roads.
Traffic lights makes the cars go faster one way on crossroads and slower the other way and roundabouts make them go faster from all ways
But roundabouts need more space to use
Mini Motorways... I've got so addicted because of your original video. Best addiction ever! It's such a great game.
The video is 9 minutes long you posted it one minute after the video has been released
@@catmixer4450 Very true...
This is a pretty good example of my gripe with the game a.t.m. where I seem to be doing really well with everything as seperate as possible but then I still get overwhelmed by the demand, sometimes I'm just not paying attention to all the destination but I also run into the problem very often where later in the game it become really difficult to redesign part of the network with disturbing the flow.
Also it really does screw you over with the spawns at time but I wasn't using the suppression technique so that will definitely help.
that sounds like more of a skill issue than a gripe bruh
I love when you said "I'm gonna put the roundabout right... here" because growing up in Los Angeles I swear if there were any roundabouts in l.a. it would be put right in the middle of chaos.
Suppression needs to be carefully managed to shape where destinations appear, but not reduce the number of destinations. The number of calls the destinations make is consistent, so if you block off too much too often, you'll have your fewer destinations making more calls than your population can handle. It's a balancing act for sure!
2 things
you don't want 4 way crossings because cars slow down on them
minimize the amount of changes late game as that can make you lose it due to a pile up/change in traffic flow
Yeah. Whenever possible, turn all the 4-way crossings into T-junctions, even if it means some cars from a couple of houses have to drive 1 or 2 extra road pieces.
great video love the mini motorways content
Yeah using roads to "shape" the expansion is a good tip, but you have to use more the roundabouts when the city expands too much
X, please upload more Mini Motorways! I’ve fallen in love with this game and I love your approach.
Thanks. That was very helpful
I've been having a think, what if you were to... no, not playing this... I refuse to be drawn in... it's not going to... damn.. curse you X! Lol. Love it!!
Yes thank you X I love this game
So helpful! Thank you. :)
Damn those destinations were popping travels faster than the cars could get them even when the parking spaces were all filled
Sometimes I've found that there is demand for cars that haven't yet returned home.
Is there a Konisgberg in this game?
I would recommend not having the cuts from the full city to being zoomed in. Perhaps pause the game, bring attention to the area you are going to zoom in on, and then zoom in on it, do the changes, zoom back out, and then let the game run.
Hi
I find the "suppression" kinda feels like cheating ngl
I mean, all he is doing is manipulating the spawning mechanics for his benefit. If that is cheating than doing something like creating an iron golem farm (in minecraft) is cheating. Of course, it is just a game. You can play it how you like.
Bloody heck, you died cos your yellow shop overloaded, meanwhile just a couple of squares away there were 3 or 4 yellow houses not even connected up to anything! Does anyone know how to get the 4,500 scores that the players on top of the leaderboard get? Cos I'm apparently better than most RUclips "guides" and I get stuck around 2,000 or a little more.
Blockading off areas using bits of road is over-used. It has a purpose but it's not some magic game-winning trick. If the game can't spawn a shop at all, then it won't. But shops are where points come from, and the point of the game is to score points. Ideally you need new shops not to pop up next to old shops, ideally you need them where they can have their own road that won't cross into existing ones, at least not busy ones.
first comment
Nobody cares.
I agree with the comment above me
This game is horrible and great at the same time
