I just love the lights and twisting the power button, that's cool. Awesome review.
Yes, the design is really really nice, and I do like the functionality too. Cheers for watching, Joey!
Woot! Welcome to the Mini PC club! Thanks for the rundown of Arch Linux. I'm intrigued. 🤔
Try it and never look back!
Outstanding review Shem, especially the Arch Linux installation process as it was very informative for newbies like me. 👍
Thank you very much, glad you enjoyed it!
Its not a review its an ad, for same money you can buy 7th gen SOC.
I got me one of those for Christmas and am very pleased
Nice! Glad to hear it!
How the pc does on PDF, RUclips, browser search and basic tasks?
@@mr.gamewatch4473 IDK but it can play Digimon Super Rumble
Amazing! Great tutorial too. Thanks! I ended up retiring my desktop and swapping over to a beelink mini pc with 5500u in it and I'm super happy with it. I may try out archlinux out on it now too 🙂
Thank you for watching! That sounds like a great setup. I'm going to try using a PC like this exclusively for a couple of weeks and see how it goes. Definitely excited to try oculink for external GPU as well!
Are you still happy with it now after 7 months?
@@JimtonTazer if you are asking me, yeah I'm still super happy with it. Zero issues.
@@cho-v4n That's great to hear, I bought this a few days ago a little on impulse so I'm glad yours is still working well. Do you mind if I ask what you use yours for? I'm primarily hoping to produce music on this but if it's capable of gaming then that's a plus.
@@JimtonTazer I used it to replace my main PC so I do everything with it . I've done some gaming on it it's pretty decent for gaming actually
That’s a neat looking unit!
I'm tempted to 3D print robot arms and legs for it...
@@RetroBreezeYT that would be fun!
now this is how you do a stress test the ones i’ve seen before try the most low requirement games but you have showed games from some of the newest to oldest as to show the full capabilities of the mini pc
Great guide! I'll have to replicate this on a miniPC soon-ish
Mini PCs are the perfect way to tinker around and use as a lab/experiental PC. I think the AMR5 is the perfect price/performance/size ratio for it too. Highly recommended!
awesome video man
Cheers, glad you liked it!
I'd love to see you hook up an external graphics to it
It should be really easy with this model since the M.2 slots ate so easily accessible!
Damn I'm so damn and noob about pc but i watched all the way to the end and i asked my brain did u pick up anything? my brain 🧠 answered me start allover the video repeat the video multiple times till we get it 🤣
Thanks for all the great information. I was wondering will this mini pc run older games like FEAR or half life and Doom and Halo ? My computer is a all in one Lenovo and it's ok playing games on steam.
Oh yeah, older stuff like that will play absolutely no problem whatsoever!
I ran Debian exclusively from 1998 to ~2017/18 Then I switched to Arch, I haven't really looked back.
I'm forced to use Ubuntu (kubuntu at least 🙄) for work whereas all my PCs at home are Arch. Honestly anything other than arch feels like layers of complexity to me. Its son good and the wiki is incredible!
@@RetroBreezeYT Well, to be fair, Canonical's focus seems to be the server. The desktop is secondary. It's always felt like marketing to me. Shuttleworth has an, let's say, eccentric approach to Linux.
Maybe an Idea would be to create a Shortcut folder for these commands which you can copy and paste into console?
WAIT A MINUTE! That says "Plasma Wayland" I had to install plasma with xorg, then add wayland and remove xorg when I set up my newest Arch rig a couple of months ago... Did Arch fix that? Automatically installing xorg should be considered a bug at this point.
Wayland works perfectly for me installed with archinstall! I've got it on both the AMR5 and Loki now without any issue! It's great!
They totally should have an option to buy this without windows 11 installed, itd make this thing an even better deal iml as youd save $100.
I agree, and with all PCa!
Can i put a 1440p monitor on it?
Yes, it supports up to dual 4K@60!
do all those games come free? in pc? or do you have to download them? or do you have to pay for all pf them? and last humble question if possible? do tyhey have gouls and ghost for nintendo switch available to buy or down load here? or kung fu master thanks alot love youre channel
Thanks for your comment! It's just a PC like any other. The games shown were either from Steam or running in emulators.
@@RetroBreezeYT thank you
Promo code doesn't work for the US store, also US version links to device with 5700u which is 8mb cache and lesser graphic card rather than 5800u, I'm wondering how noticeable the difference would be in performance.
Avoid this minipc, its overpriced old crap, you can get modern SOC for same money
@@NoBodysGamerWhat is SOC?
@@arraxidugalde9792 SoC: "System on a chip", is an integrated circuit that integrates most or all components of a computer or other electronic system on one chip. Usually its what you have on small devices, phones, tablets, routers and so on.
Amazing video. Please what is the name of the game controller (gamepad)? Can you leave a link?
Thank you so much! You have a great eye! The controller is the amazing FlyDigi Apex Elite 3. You can get it from the FlyDigi store on AliExpress, but it's gone up in price a lot unfortunately:

The Vader 2 Pro is a simpler, cheaper and better option!
Does Batocera Linux run better with PS3, Xbox360 and switch with this current mini pc
?
Yes I would say so. Batocera has a lower overhead and so generally performs much better.
Buyer beware I bought one and it was faulty tryed to RMA it and ace wouldn't honor the warranty I tryed calling them and emailing them and nothing
So, I could install a second 1TBB NVME, set it up with LVM and have a 1.5TB volume... Interested... Or, I could set up the 512GB drive with the system and put the home directory on the 1TB drive... hmmm.... I'm liking this price point...
To be frank I think the extra M.2 slot and possibility to upgrade RAM is really good value at this price.
How much fps are you getting on Java Minecraft?
How does this compare to the ryzen 5 offering from the same company? Not doing gaming just web browsing and reading PDFs but occasional RUclips watching.
Good review. I have a question. Does the performance and other controls affect how it runs on arch or do you have to install drivers for those modes to work. I was thinking the same thing about installing Arch Linux and just need to know if that will effect Archinux in anyway?
Hi there! The RGBs are not controllable with Linux right now (I tried various methods to get the software to work, with no luck), however the power dial DOES actually work just the same as in Windows!
@@RetroBreezeYT so the program and software that controls thr performance modes doesn't work?
@@wills8869 There's no software for the performance modes- it's a physical toggle that does work in Linux too. The only software that doesn't work is for the RGBs
@@RetroBreezeYT oh wow okay cool then I can use linux. That's why I was wondering. Idc about the RGB that much. That's for letting me know that
How would world of Warcraft and older mmorpgs play on this lil guy?
hi I know nothing about computers.... My computer is well over 10 years old I think running on intel core i5.... can you use these mini pcs to edit videos??? I use filmora
Could this pc run warzone
Simular to my specs
hello do you know if integrated graphics is it working via hdmi to play video stream mvc 3d (blu-ray 3d iso backup) on windows 11 with powerdvd to an old tv3d samsung with hdmi 1.4 ?
Ok i want to use this to play project 06 on the most basic settings. Is this capable of doing so?
Does it make a difference in games FPS by using windows/linux?
What kind of difference are you looking for? In general the OS makes no difference to the game itself.
@@RetroBreezeYT I mean difference in FPS
Can you play VR on this PC
Hey! I'm COMPLETELY New to this and a noob when it comes to computers. Was wondering if this was a little solid machine to do some light editing and maybe streaming? Thank you so much! :)
Is there any fan in this pc ?
Yes, but it's quiet!
10% is very generous? 🙂😊😁😄😆😂🤣
Moreso than 0%!
Fornite fps?
100 around 120
do the games come with it?
Maybe solitaire 😂 it's just a PC!
Computers are like air conditioners. They are both useless you open Windows.
HAH I'm putting this in my next PC review 😂😂
BUYER BEWARE - ruclips.net/video/nwOsvO2uYHA/видео.html!!!
That issue is long since resolved. Not excusing it, but still. Easy way to avoid issues like this? Don't use Windows.
It’s gunna give out in 5-6months. These things aren’t reliable. Had to replace mine twice until I just told them to refund me. What a waste. Just save for a legit desktop
OP i expected better from you, not this ad for horrible overpriced ancient product
Are you able to add a desktop gpu to it?
You can actually, using one of the m.2 slots and an adapter! ruclips.net/video/Rwc_zFvzoWw/видео.htmlfeature=shared
Did you encounter any malware issues?
No, but I immediately wipe any computer I ever get and reinstall the OS. I know it's unusual, but I think everybody should do this.
