This song will always send chills up my spine. Not to spoil anything, but I honestly think this captured the moment in the game perfectly. It's beautifully made, and the one song I think shows Takada's ability to capture the emotion perfectly.
"We tried so hard, yet failed. A great and irreversible incident happened in the world and we were powerless to alter the event. In the end, the cycle goes on, we are just expendable casualties and alone in the rain". That's the emotion evoked from this powerful track, at least to me. Suits the tone of the ending too.
NoFairPlay now that you mention it, that seems like another layer of the story thats worth looking into- we have so much info / discussion on nearly every aspect of killer7 except for Mithra's involvement. There isn't much on that front (most likely because MS was never fully translated) and I think having more insight into it will lead to the unraveling of yet another layer to the "spiritual / supernatural" aspect of the story. Or all that info has been found out and is just lost in time (like many pieces of info on TSC and FSR) Crossing my fingers for a full MS translation and some kind of movement in the community
"That wonderful smile is gone for eternity." God, that hit me really hard. At this point Garcian is dead. Even though Emir returns, the character we've enjoyed, whether it was his cool persona, or his wisdom in the world, this was when Garcian Smith truly died. I don't think that Garcian was a mere personality distracting Emir from the truth, but rather a real person, and seeing him break down to realize that he was the one to kill his friends and "father-like" master Harman, really shows how much depth this game really had. He tries to say that it wasn't him, that it was all a misunderstanding, but when he opens that breifcase, it hits him, and just like that Garcian fades away, now awakening the long asleep devil Emir. This is the reason Emir's eyes glow in the final chapter. However, I don't think Garcian's struggle was in vain. Even if he did fade, a part of him was still in Emir, because for the first time in his life Emir was free. Free from the West and the East, neither a pawn of Harman or Kun Lan. However, there is one last issue. One last Smile. One country to choose in the everlasting war of East or West. Even though it doesn't matter in the grand scale of things, the moment that Emir decides Matsuken's fate is truly his full character development, because now he is fully aware of it all. Without the lies and deceit of both sides, Emir can finally choose for himself who should be the victor(for now, at least). As Matsuken says, "Better be prepared, because blood must atone for blood. So, which will you choose? Your own country, or watch our retribution? Your fuckin' decision."
Speaking of that final decision: "Hello Mr. Smith, the election is drawing near. Have you decided on your vote yet? If you havent please let the Republic Party make the most out of your precious vote."
I don't think Garcian is actually dead. He knows what he did and clearly regrets it. People still call him Emir but if he really was that crazed 13 year old he wouldn't still be on his mission to kill Heaven Smiles 3 years later. But he is, and doing it to honor his syndicate and to help the world. This time though, he belongs to no nation or person. Now he's independent and to quote Linda Vermillion: "A protector of the country".
you have it backwards. Emir is dead: Garcian Killed his past self so he could build his own future. He Became his own person. Also Harman is not a good father figure; he was manipulating Garcian for his purposes with the chess game against Kun Lan. there is no good or bad here
This isn't from the game, but rather supergreatfriend's playthrough of the game "That smile is never gone, as long as we remember it." I just think that's beautiful.
Best song in the whole game. I love this song so much. If you havn't played Killer7, you seriously need to get it, great deep deep deep game that just comes right to you.
One of the classiest tracks in videogame history, this paired with Garcian's genuinely distraught performance leaves such a poignant feel to a game that up to that point just seems like incoherent madness, every time the credits start rolling with this playing I just have to stare at the tv until they're done. What a game ._.
holy fuck this track sold the moment so hard, I thought the revelation itself was predictable but the emotion and impact leading up to it was insanely well crafted this melody is oddly upbeat with melancholic tones to really emphasize the freedom, and sorrow that came in those final moments.
What an amazing game, holy shit.. When this scene played out, man.. I couldn't believe my eyes. I can't believe I never saw that coming. It's been so long since a game has taken me by such surprise. Killer7 is such an amazing gem, and I'm so glad that I got to experience it. Such an amazing fucking game. ♥
I could die to this song, walking in the distance as I fall apart into cosmos dust, cold ice stars, brittled away from entropy into an infinite merging void.

One of my all time favorite games... shame it never got the recognition that it truly deserved... just listening to this beautiful piece brings back the memories....
His eyes turn green when he knows everything because his father is Kun Lao(Who also has green eyes), its suppose to represent his anger awakening or something like that.

Garcian: 🔫 Always has been
Even Garcian is fake. The truth is. Emir Parkreiner.

"That wonderful smiling face will never be seen again."
Amen brother....
I cried after the credits ended. I think the song and the "now that beautiful smile is gone forever" message got to me.

You put into words exactly how it felt hearing this the first time. The ending to Killer7 was so impactful to me. Such an amazing experience.
Every time I listen to this, I either cry or get very close to crying. I love Killer7 so much man...

rotenaka this existed since Moonlight Syndrome, each protagonist meets a sad humiliating end. It's all part of Mithra's little game.

Yeah, we need a MS translation ASAP!
The world won't change, all it does is turn.

I love Killer 7. I sometimes wish more people would pick it up and play it. It's really fascinating and beautiful as a game.
I did. I can't even, my soul is shattered at the end, and i played Lisa.

@@DylanBelievesInTheNet It's at the credits of the game after beating the penultimate chapter of the game.
Man, imagine if Garcian Smith got into Smash Bros
His final smash would literally be the Killer 7
i've been thinking about that too! it would be pretty awesome
That sounds so badass
Best song in the whole game. I love this song so much.

the game that ended the dispute on whether or not video games can be art.
This is the last song I want to listen to before I die.

God, if NMH3 can come to fruition, Shadow of the Damned 2 and Killer 7² can too.

Wow there's a massive spoiler in the description of the video....Well done....
Honestly if you havent played Killer 7 before listening to this or by this year there is something wrong with you
Really tho. How you gonna find the song in game to look it up if you didn’t already finish it.
Played this game years ago and I STILL don't get it.

Because he IS the other person?
@ieatpeephole The only game that can compare is Illusion of Gaia for the superNES. The story is incredibly deep.

Sad to see the spoiler in the video's description, not everyone listening to the OST has completed the game...
K7 and nmh all involve hotels.
And Flower Sun & Rain for that matter
You have it backwards, anyway
hm... i prefer Super smash bros melee... but its a good game, fuck yeah
@Catmangamer That's irrelevant
@nothingness36 Killer 7 was so good, every game after it seems like a waste! Arkham Asylum is good though
