Hello Mr. Koifish! Thanks so much for featuring my RICE mod! The Greenland struggle perhaps the crowning feature of the mod and it's great seeing your trademark colorful take on it. If I may be as so bold as to suggest you may want to check out RICE's Normandy and to a lesser extent Sicily flavor packs/struggles if you want some Norse adjacent flavor from RICE. In fact, Haesteinn could make for an interesting playful for the Normandy struggle as later Norman propaganda IRL portrayed him as the evil Viking foil to Rollo, the "good" Viking.
I thought at least the initial Icelandic viking records didn't start talking about the "Skaeling" locals till Vinland proper. I'd thought they had little if any contact with the "Dolmen" natives of Greenland. DO I have my order completely mixed up? Man I really screwed up if so.
@@DIEGhostfish I typed up a long comment but accidentally deleted it 😭 Basically the TLDR of my original comment is there's some evidence beyond the sagas about Vinland for contact between Norse and non-Norse in Greenland, not to mention the sagas are, while useful, a limited source since they were written long after and have their own biases. The extent of such contact, however, is debatable, with scholars proposing anything from the rare occasional encounter to full blown regular trade on another extreme. I did my research for this a couple years ago based on what latest scholarship I could find, so I might be forgetting something and/or am not aware of any newer scholarship since then.
@@cybrxkhansmods2848 hey bro can you make can you make a small mod for me and other people? If so can you please make a mod where you can form ottoman empire from sultanate of rûm also add some Turkic tribal seals such as the seal on the golden horde and sibir Khanate please 🥺.
I love your mod in so many ways, but Greenland struggle and colonization of Vinland and the expeditions really made me feel like I was exploring an unknown land that's unreachable for my character, each decision to support and explore always kept me waiting for the results to see what new information or strive in the colonies would turn up. It really makes you feel immersed to a degree that I rarely feel in video games.
@@Exocrotic-yn2ck In the future I might make some content related to the Turks and other steppe (or originally steppe) peoples, but no promises if and when. I know atm I don't have a lot specifically for the Turks and steppe peoples in RICE, just some general stuff from other flavor packs.

Depends how big a dildo you are carving from the tusks to be honest. Horker tusks are smaller and probably better for a normal human, mammoth tusks are just a bit too big although you could quite efficiently get two or three times the dildo yield. Horker tusks are also a bit denser so will probably last longer assuming daily use.
10:27 The whole native timeline is odd, because there was apparently a group a bit northwest of where the initial Norse settlers icelandic people etc were. Not aware of evidence they had much contact with the Icelandic settlers though IIRC their settlement periods did overlap. And then the Icelanders left or died out, the Dolmen died out or got killed off, and the Inuit showed up *possibly* they were the ones who killed/drove off the other two cultures. And then the Danish showed up.
With the new DLC I’m hoping we get some off map content for landless adventurers, like you can move your camp off map and experience events unique to where you left from, visiting China or discovering the new world or risking your life in the jungles of Africa

There's actually some evidence that Christians were among the earliest settlers to Iceland, particularly but not exclusively among the Gaelic slaves the Norse brought with them. Many of the Norse settlers in Iceland had ties to Gaelic nobility/royalty and some would've converted by then (hence why Koifish's starting character had an Irish mother, the daughter of an Irish ruler). You also see this represented in vanilla as one of the starting Icelandic rulers in 867 is Christian. It's believed these ties with the Gaelic world may have played a role in the "official" Christianization of the island, which was overall a very gradual process.
