I was thinking the same thing! I keep a sponge filter in every tank tank I have with a battery powered air pump that kicks on when the power goes out. It's not a lot of filtration but it does keep the water aireated and some water flow until the power comes back.

Christian, once you add fluval tap water conditioner during a water change or when starting up a new system we advise leaving the skimmer off for at least 4 to 5 hours. Then when starting adjust the level accordingly.

With a full drum of fluval bug bites and flow set to max and set to once a day, how long would it last until it is out of food ? Could it last 14 days ?
Ok so why is it the lowest setting is so small but the next one up is one quarter of the drum ? I’m using fluval food and I’m using a flex 15 gallon. Is my pf2 defective ?
The second setting will disperse a relatively small amount of very fine granules, using flake it would be very little, perhaps try and set the position more accurately, it sounds like you are at higher setting or switch to flake if it is smaller granules you are having a harder time adjusting for.
Is there a warranty on this item ? I have a trip in one month and need at least a week or two to ensure this item will be sufficient to feed my fish. I just purchased this item and there must be some sort of defect. I’m using fluval bug bites and a flex 15 gallon. There should be no issue. I will reach out to your company tomorrow on the 24th. Please ensure a speedy resolution and I will make sure to reply on this thread so all potential consumers can have confirmation that fluval fully backs there products and will ensure end user satisfaction. Thank You,
Absolutely you can set and forget for two weeks :) That said, it is best to replace the battery every 6 months regardless, it is difficult to predict battery life due to a number of variables, therefore regular replacement is the best preventative.
Hi! Not really - the first version of the Edge aquarium doesn't feature a feeding door, and the second version's feeding door wasn't designed for use with an automatic feeder.
Hi Tom, there is no way to input time. When you hit P1, the first feeding is scheduled, and the PF2 will activate at that time every day. If you wish to add a second feeding, hit P2 at whatever time you wish for it to occur, and the PF2 will activate once more at that time every day.

Yes, you can use this auto feeder on the Fluval Flex 57L. You would have to position it perpendicular to the feeding slot and align it carefully, using he M (manual button) is recommended for some trial runs before affixing the bottom of the unit to the canopy with the double sided tape provided.
@@fluval I want to start by saying that I use and love your filters but why bother making a product that is not cutting edge? Hi, does this feeder work on the Fluval Flex 15? I am planning to buy one fish feeder and use it in my next vacation.

Hi Roberto! The PF2 does work with the Flex15, you'll just have to attach it using the double-sided tape that's included with the unit.
I have the fluval saltwater version.. is there pellets that saltwater fish eat? I thought majority only ate frozen or live or seaweed
It depends on which species of fish, but many do consume pellets.

Ian, 1 to 4 mm in diameter generally work best, the adjustable sliding feed door allows you to dial in how much food is distributed.
Very nice. But never used for long time on Flex. The feeder starts to be wet and humid. After a 2 weeks the entire food was moist and corrupted....

What’s the best way to take the feeding door off the hood?
The feeding door can simply be snapped out of its location, just pull up on one side, then the other.
Why is it so loud?
To train your fish same principle as pavlov's dog.
