I'm Coloured from South Africa . Yes... we are called "coloured" but it's more culturally based than skin colour, which is useless because you get coloured people darker than black people and as white as white people. Traditionally and culturally we all differ. So technically we fall within the level of being Zulu, Xhosa, Tswana or Sotho which are tribes in South Africa. All with their own languages and stuff. Another thing is coloured is an English word and most colouree people speak Afrikaans as a first language so we rarely have to use it in that context. We acknowledge blackness but we are more than just skin colour. Because of all the tribes and races and languages we have... we use the term "Ubuntu" which means togetherness. Even though we are a diverse nation , our "Ubuntu" is what makes us one. 😃😃😃
