I had a noisy tranny once back in Thailand but that's another story lol. What type of crank case breather do you use and which side do you recommend putting them on? Do you have single or double ball bearing idlers? And Which Brand?
@@JerkVegas86 Sorry for the delayed response, I didn’t get a notification for your comment🤷🏼♂️ Anyhow, I run a K&N 3/4” push in chrome breather on the passenger side valve cover. It works great but it does get just a little bit of oil on it. Most guys throw a wristband on it to soak up the oil. As far as the pullies, surprisingly my cobra still has mostly stock (I keep on eye on them) except for the supercharger pulley and the pulley tensioner which is motoblue. These 2 were already on the car when I got it but when I do change them all I will go with the Metco Double bearing Pullies. Hope that helps✊🏼🏁 Btw, I supported your channel. I watched your cobra dyno video but couldn’t add a comment as your comments feature is turned off. What did it make?
@@PaulDaFox Thanks man! It made 477 last summer this Feb it made 505. Those cooler temps really help! I've got a new wheels since then. Bassani catted x on the way aswell as a afco heat exchanger and the 5 piece metco pullies. I'm thinking of doing an oil seperator instead of breathers.
Hey Sergio, I agree with the head cooling mod being a must, but I have gotten away with no catch can. Appreciate the comment and for you watching. Have a great Sunday! 🤙🏼🏁
Awesome video! You said a lot of what I would say. My car in particular makes a clunk sound sometimes when I’m at a stop and I go to put it in 1st gear! I think I rear of you have Motorsport bushings back there then that can happen. And that’s what I have. Along with full IRS bushings etc. Drives great tho!
Thanks Everlasting SVT…Yeah, the clunk is annoying and mine only disappeared after I swapped everything to the FTBR setup. It’s a pricey setup by the time it’s all done, but to me it was worth it and it significantly improved the handling. That said, thanks for the comment and appreciate you watching! Have a great week!! 🐍🏁
My alternator smoked out when I went to go get mine registered. Right after purchase. I'll keep these tips in mind. Seems like the less she sits, the better she drives lately. A lot of these sit for awhile. I would also watch out for wheel hop, if they hop when spinning tires ease off 😅🤟
Thanks brother! Even with the little things mentioned this has been the best Mustang I have ever owned. Mine use to wheel hop but once I did the Full Tilt Boogie Racing setup that went away. Thanks for watching, have a great weekend🙌🏼🏁
The air pocket in the intercooler resevoir develops when you open the lid for fluid top up Take a jumper wire and run the pump pull the relay out and jump the pump ( few videos on youtube showing this ) then blow air in with by mouth and hands over top of resevior keep blowing and the pump will start to circulate some times it takes 4 or 5 tries if it doesn't circulate then you know your pump is done !
Thanks for the info, really appreciate that!! The way I got rid of my air pocket was by removing lid and then I squeezed the hose rapidly 5-6 times and it started to circulate - maybe I got lucky doing like that but its been good since🙏 Thanks for watching, have a great day!!
My 03 with only 11k miles has the "clunk" with the Full Tilt Boogie rear-end. Drives me crazy. Only does it taking off in first gear from what I can tell and hear.
Hey Kevin, after I swapped in the FTBR bushings and then set the pinion angle my clunk went away. I can recall mine having a very minor clunk initially and then when we set the pinion angle it went away. Did you have your pinion angle set? Thanks brother✊🏼🏁
@@PaulDaFox I'll have to put it on a lift and check it out. I bought the car in February and it already had the rear-end done. Still got all the stock parts so trying to avoid swapping it back. It doesn't bother me that bad but I'm OCD and scares me something is gonna break everytime I hear that clunk. I really wanna do that head cooling mod too at some point. I see people never doing it, racing it hard all the time with no issues and others ruining their heads from not doing it. Guess it's a coin flip so I'm gonna do it to be safe.
@@kennethdurbin3385 If the FTBR bushings are already done I would leave them. Make sure there’s grease in the zerks and double check the pinion angle. As far as the head cooling mod - I did it just for peace of mind. It certainly won’t hurt any to have that extra cooling in the head. Just heading out to go check out my new motor being built; have a great day brother✊🏼🏁
I am currently looking at a 03 car with 51,000 miles. Rebuilt engine because he melted a piston so he had to have the cylinder bored 0.020. Will that ruin "integrity and or value" of the 4.6? I am just getting into these cars and am not sure what to make of a motor that has been bored. Thanks for the video, super helpful!
Hey Caden, I personally wouldn't buy it myself; especially if your looking at keeping it long term. These motors are super tough and will hold a lot of power so I'm curious as to why it melted a piston. In my humble opinion - Yes, the motor being touched will hurt the value of the Cobra and will scare some buyers aware such as myself. I would say keep searching for a Cobra with an untouched motor with the usual bolt-ons and you will be very happy! I hope that helps, thanks for the feedback and for watching; its much appreciated! Have a great day brother!! 👊🐍🏁
I’m looking at a 2003 cobra with 52,000 original owner had it for 17 years and only put 48,000 on it in Colorado. Car was maintained and I plan to drive it back down from Colorado down to Texas: anything you’d recommend?
These are great cars and I don't see any issues with you making that drive. Other than checking the obvious, check all the fluids and ask the owner if he has an extra belt. I always carried an extra one with me just in case. Good luck with your purchase and drive safe. LMK how you make out! Thanks for watching, have a great weekend 👊🐍🏁
Hey Jason, the head cooling mod on my Cobra was custom made and done a little bit different then the ones out on the market, so sorry brother I don’t have a part number for you. That said, I appreciate you watching, have a great night🐍🏁
I just bought a 04 cobra and i think i have the valve tick. Havent got the chance to scan the code for engine does it trip the service engine light. Sounds exactly like mine
@@Flogrownfishin What I will suggest is for you to take it to someone who knows these motors inside out and that you trust! A friend of mine bought a Cobra knowing it had a head tick and it’s been a nightmare for him as the damage was much worse than anticipated. That said, I hope yours is nothing major and wish you all the best! 🤞🏼Keep me posted brother🏁
