    I'm not sure how anyone could dislike this video. The dancing alone deserves a Love! Thank you for showing me its possible to replace windows with a french door in such a great way.

    Stu I am also in window door bussines. Removing and installing them and also finishing jobs. The only difference is our windows and doors are opening inside the room or place not outside like yours. But very nice job indeed. I can tell u r very precise and meticulous 👍👍.     Another great vid stu I did this a few years back took.window and put oak double doors in
    The old women got fed up so put frame single double glazed door to match everything else. Keep the vids co.eing buddy not forgetting your pops.

      stu crompton great bro! it's good to have a balance between teaching and presenting I suppose because sometimes I do have questions about the specific parts of a job. so more in depth videos would be great for people learning. would definitely pay for longer tutorial videos man. much love

    Why have you put a windowsill on a door? Our builder did this...not practical....need floor running to doors could you explain why...is there a reason why this was done?

    I actually prefer these to the currently-fashionable aluminium bifolds (invariably coloured in anthracite). Especially when used on period properties.

    Can you let us know how to measure the size of the door you should order, say for example if the gap is 2 meters do you order a frame to measure 2 meters or do you order slightly smaller and if so how much smaller? Tia

    I've actually got to build some wall back in, as the new door going in (main front door....composite job), is narrower than the existing window. Any reason what I can't use the bricks that I take out from below the window? Guessing, expanding foam important everywhere???

    Nice video :) how come you don't key in new bricks up the sides?

      Because the cost would be far more and the whole process could not be done in a day as you would have to wait for the mortar to set before fixing the frame. You would also need to board the opening up over night.

    Hi well done on a good job. I am wanting to take out a kitchen window and replace with french doors - i wont need planning permission to do this will i? and roughly how much wud it cost. Wud u come to Doncaster to do it lol do u travel that far

    Is it normal to fit doors with the doors on the hinges?... Mine weigh a ton was thinking it'd be a hell of a lot easier if I take the doors off first?...or is it a nightmare to take em off?

      If you've got flag hinges then they lift straight off, and yes it makes it a lot easier.

      Look to pay anything from £300 per window upwards depending on labour costs

    For replacing windows with french doors, do any structural checks need to be done or should it be fine to just put the French doors in.
    I do have a lintel in place, so should this be fine?

      contact local building control. fill in BN1 form. Did one this week in wakefield. cost £160. For that building inspector comes on completion and signs off work so no problems later when selling house.
