    We kept finding we needed a folding table. This is so easy to store. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxStL0QRChBju4aQlnTrRgBZvafFog0KU3 Opening and closing is easy as well. It has a great handle for carrying around the house. Its pretty lightweight and slides around easy. We bought it for our daughter’s first sleepover. Breakfast was a blur - but 12 7-8 year olds fit at the table with room to spare. We used it at thanksgiving and 6 adults fit comfortably on each side plus 2 on either end for a total of 8. Super easy to clean up afterwards as well.

    super duper idea.One point is the health and safety issue.People can bump into the handle when they are walking close to the table.So a small cut into the wood for four fingers will solve that issue.but it is super project.Love it.

    Sprinkle a little table salt in the glue spots to prevent sliding.

    Great build, one 'little' problem. When your kids/friends kick one of the stands, you or even worse your beer will be on the floor. :))

    I like this, it is really simple to make (once wood is cut) BUT unfortunately I bought almost non of the items, including wood, at Builders as they had a a FOUR week waiting period for cutting, I went around the corner to Buco they cut this and the Sun Lounger SAME day (Saturday 21st December)

    how will this work indoors? I have very limited space in my kitchen, and actually very seldom eat in there unless I have company over. what adjustments would I need to make if I we're hanging it to drywall? And say wanted to use the legs as a spice rack or something useful when it wasn't being used? do I just need to make sure I'm hitting some framing ?

    • @sxg40oz
      @sxg40oz 4 года назад

      I would definitely Mount to this into the studs.
      A spice rack sounds like a neat idea. Make sure it’s not in the way when you raise and lower.

    • @marytramp5678
      @marytramp5678 4 года назад +1

      @@sxg40oz I was thinking that by making the leg simply a little narrower that I could add a side piece that was just a little wider than the leg. just enough to create a self wide enough to hold the spice jars with a dowel to hold them in. that way it doesn't add to the width off the leg and yet continues to be part of it. Also the more I thought about the wall hinge, after installing them into the wall, is there a way to for me to install say a piece of wood over the hinge? I'm just worried as to the security of hanging it on drywall and it being so heavy.

    • @sxg40oz
      @sxg40oz 4 года назад +1

      Mary Tramp - I haven’t felt the weight of this yet. But I imagine it is pretty hefty. I’m going to install mine onto wood paneling, so I haven’t given it much thought.
      Without seeing your specific situation. Possibly a different, more durable hinge might be a little better on drywall. Try going to the local hardware store and describing what you’re doing. They might have a better suggestion.

    So, i have a small doubt, so its 2 hinges on the table conection then 2more on to the wall.l? Asking since i see 2 moving joint ( the wall side and the table/table union) .

    I wonder how long that hinge will last when you lean on the table?

    • @BuildersFan
      @BuildersFan  5 лет назад +4

      Hi Digital Mole. The hinges used are 75mm in size. Thus they will be more than strong enough for the table and the benches. Regards. AD.

    All you need is a drill and a sander? That is assuming you can get someone to do all the cutting and measuring for you. Something not commonly available in many places.
    Come to think of it - why didn't you get them to put it together for you?

    Great design, shame about the ugly wood treatment. Using waterproof ply made from rubberwood instead would be easier to maintain .
