I have made videos to cover each type of animal. If you are starting from zero, the first 2 types of plants you need have to be 4 nodes (branch levels) tall or taller. One type being simple leaves (thin, mostly look like branches,) and the other type being complex (more full, look like what most tree leaves look like.) This will get you fish and crustaceans.
Evolving plants is mostly waiting to find a random mutation and taking a cutting. There is a way to brute force them by editing DNA though. Maybe I will make a video about that...
What intrigued me about this game was the slight element of realism with the genetics, although with you talking about a global size gene, I'm guessing its more superficial than I had hoped.
The global size gene is just one possible gene. There is also a separate gene for leaf size, for example, as well as many many more. I am not sure how realistic you were hoping for, but I'd be happy to answer any other questions you might have.
Is it possible to have scorpions, reptiles, silverfish, insects, flatworms, fish, horseshoe crabs, amphibians, slugs, snails, and crustaceans all in one tank?
I believe so. Species that get eaten by other species don't completely die off. I think the main challenge would be making sure animals are only eating the right things to evolve into what you want them to evolve into.
I think the developer changed this so that reptiles don't need such a small plant anymore. If it is still not working for you I can try and find what type of gene it is.
@@TycoonBarnaby thanks and ive tried normal size plants its a 4 node or taller complex leafe with stems going all over the place right like a bush?? also thank u for reply
There are a bunch of different genes that affect all the parts of the animals. You can't completely make a custom animal, but for example with the fish, you could make a long skinny fish with 3 different color sections or a small fat fish with all sections the same color. Over time though, animals will mutate on their own and change as well.
Thanks! If the idea of evolving animals and dna editing plants to create a great looking aquarium appeals to you then yes I do think it is worth it. I currently have 62 hours in the game, and I foresee many more to come.

Hola aunque ya ha pasado mucho tiempo, comentar que el gen que reduce el tamaño es el codon 1
My animals keep turning into slugs and crabs. Which plants do I use to get lizards and bugs, and how do I get them?

Thanks bro
Maybe you could make a vid on how to evolve some of the plants into trees n such?

@@TycoonBarnaby I take cuttings of colored algae, but when I plant it, it reverts back to non-mutated?
@@af4237 That sounds like a bug to me. Are you grabbing the algae after it shoots out the see to replant itself?

"Who doesnt like bees?"
people who are allergic to them
Does this game has natural selection?
Can i make “custom” animals, like changing the shape of the flippers or customizing leg shape and size

Great vid! I’m thinking about buying this game, would you say it’s worth the 18 dollars it’s on sale for right now?
