You really think that is why? There is a lore reason for it. Traveler is always acquiring the leftover authority from the amount HP didn't take when the power was taken from the dragons (PO not wanting the Archons to be strong enough to band together and overthrow them most likely is the reason not all was taken). Even when Focalors gives Neuv back the hydro authority she can only give back what she possesses and Traveler has the change. Just so happens Focalors had a better extraction than Buhr or Haborym and thus a bigger share of power, probably owing to the extremely corrupted state the Pyro and Dendro sovereigns were in when they were defeated and their power stolen. Much of their elemental authority having turned abyssal (which MC is naturally able to purify) made it so a smaller amount was obtainable by PO. The Hydro sovereign died prior to being so thoroughly corrupted. The reason the Geo traveler has utility but no real "power" is because Morax... same goes for Beelzebul and Barbatos, the only 3 Archons left from the Archon war (even if Beelzebul wasn't technically a whole archon at the time) and the only ones who directly acquired the Authority from PO (or possibly never lost it to anyone, even PO in one of their cases, not 100% on that though). TL;DR Hoyo makes or loses nothing by HMC being weak when DMC was so strong anyways. They won't sacrifice story for that, they aren't Bioware. The only people who care about little power variances like that are f2p players, and if Hoyo can't convert you to dolphin or whale then your job is done. Enjoy your free game but don't expect a whole lot of attention.

I just hope the bloom interaction doesn't get patched out. With some smart positioning, good build and just bloom cores they still push out more than respectable damage.

It'll probably get patched, there was something similar with Xingqiu a long time ago that got fixed pretty quickly. I guess they ignored this because lanterns were a limited item from long before hydro traveler existed, but now that you can buy tons of them... They don't even need to change Traveler, just put a short cooldown on using lanterns, it doesn't make sense that you can release 100+ at once and cause massive lag.
It took the whole Update for Adventurine because it was caused by the Upcoming Remembrance Class. Specifically Empty slots for The Memosprites. In short. It was going to be fixed anyways once Remembrance and Memosprites were released.
Nah this has been around since Hydro Traveler was released day 1 in Fontaine and people have showed it before, it just got viral this week. They probably won't fix it since it's only usable in the open world and is technically advanced and not free to do as it takes mora.
Lol yes, it seems there is a break point in between 20 and 50 where 1 Xiao latern increases ping by 1ms. You can even see it in the @dhcwsp clip, ping increases by like 200ms.
500k mora for 1000 lanterns is not too bad of a deal. I have like 115 million mora at the moment so it's not a big deal to buy a few thousand. If you can oneshot some local legends for easy achievements, it's pretty worth it.
@kejow. You have to level up every character's talents to deal good damage? Those were level 1 talents on Mavuika, Citlali, Bennett, and Xilonen that he used in the video? The Traveler should just start with maxed talents just because? You already get c3 and c5 talent levels for free.
You don't need Xiao lanterns. You can do this with Dendro Cores and thus it's a lot more legit. Like Traveler will do a lot of damage, but since you'll only have like 6 or 8 cores at most it will be more reasonable, but also usable in Abyss, Domains, and Events. And it's just a very sane amount of damage. Like a real rotation you could think of doing.
Lol for the dawnstar totem boss, you kinda need Amber. She absolutely demolishes its shield in like 3 seconds bc her burst comes from the sky and has a lot of application.
The ‘bug’ might aswell stay as an incentive for players to spend their mora if they want a chance to enjoy hydro trav ( I think it’s a part of travs kit tho since they interact with blooms )
Re: Everything happening around 11:45 -- So idk if it was related to this or not, but I've noticed certain newer domain areas will have weird amounts of lag when switching characters, even when on PC. I run into it all the time during Imaginarium Theater (but never Abyss), and it's been present during certain Local Legends who use the totems too. Something about those areas makes the game lag a bit more than usual, and while generally not noticeable unless you're looking for it, I imagine the addition of the xiao lanterns is making it much more pronounced, which is why it wasn't working.
I think you need to be on traveller when you release lanterns so you can burst the second you release lanterns. Switching chars after lanterns gives them too much time to float away.
11:28 this happens because Kazuha and traveler have different heights and, therefore, different hitboxes. because you are touching the enemy with Kazuha's hitbox, the game detects that you don't have enough space to change to another character, so the game doesn't change. Try changing Qiqi with zhongli in a space where Qiqi fits but zhongli doesn't, is the same reason

I wouldnt say that this makes hydro traveler broken since its not really hydro traveler doing the damage. It's the Xiao Lanterns. This could probably work with a few characters who have a burst that does something similar.
11:28 You can see with your ping you lagged out. I thought it was because you were standing too close, as that can also prevent a swap, but you get a text pop-up that says you can't swap "right now." While your ping didn't hit 999, you still lagged hard since your normal is 17. You def got packet loss.
Hydro MC is actually the first traveler element I've C6'd [yes even before anemo and geo] Honestly the only reason why I have Hydro on is because I think the gameplay is fun and goofy I honestly prefer to keep my traveler on Hydro [doesn't matter much anyway because I rarely use them unless I run out of resin or smth xd]

Hydro MC is actually the first traveler element I've C6'd [yes even before anemo and geo]
Honestly the only reason why I have Hydro on is because I think the gameplay is fun and goofy I honestly prefer to keep my traveler on Hydro [doesn't matter much anyway because I rarely use them unless I run out of resin or smth xd]

don’t even have to actually finish the burst animation u can open your bag in the middle and the game pauses 😭 it was bothering me so much watch him try to use the lanterns then switch and burst

11:25 this happened. Your ping got higher after you clicked so many lanterns. Besides Genshin is getting a lot buggy for me these days and my usual ping is always 270, which makes it worse. WuWv is working better in SEA.
