The Samurai despite today's romantication of them were actually hated by most people in Japan.
They were known to be very arrogant and brutal towards others.
Especially against innocent civilians.
They would randomly cut down innocent people on their travels along the roads they walked.
Just to test their swords sharpness.
They would dine at restaurants then refuse to pay.
The Bushido isn't really a warrior's code of honour.
It's more a set of rules that Samurai were meant to live by with one another.
Everyone else was just fair game.
Very few lived up to the Bushido code.
Apart from it's kill without mercy in the name of honour aspects.
It was fundamentally a brutal and evil code to live by.
