    When the wolf attacked the baby, the little bison was just like, are you playing with me?
    He/she was not impressed by the wolf!

    Must be a very young baby buff. I was thinking the same thing. How did it nurse? Well, just guessing that the bite wounds must not have been that deep. At 4:51, that calf just senses no danger. I watch a lot of buff videos as of late. This one was very good. You were at the right place at the right time, and now have captured on film memories that will last a lifetime. Thanks for sharing your video!

    Actually, wolves, as apex predators, are very important to the ecosystem. Wolves and their prey have evolved and lived together for millions of years, and the population control of ungulates is important for the persistance of natural vegetation.
    If you would like to have a civil conversation, what are your reasons for hating wolves so much?

    I don't think the wolf was trying to kill the calf for some reason,it looked like he was just practicing his killing skills in a playful manner. Thats what it looked like cause the calf wasn't even knocked off balance when wolf was biting his neck. Definitely strange right

    That was a very inexperienced wolf. Usually they can subdue a calf in mere seconds and mortally wound it. In this case, the wolf didn't really know what to do. It also was very late to take advantage of the calf being alone.

    What is the point of taking some video from National Geographic, substituting some crude voice-over, and reposting it in crap quality? From Season 1 Episode 5 of National Geographic's series: America's National Parks.

    I'm confused about this video. I saw a documentary about this calf a couple of years ago. The calf was separated from its mother and washed downstream when it tried to cross the Lamar River. Further down the river, the calf was able to climb out of the river onto this gravel bar. It spent the night there. The documentary just like this video, shows the calf, the next morning, being attacked by a wolf, but the mother was on her way to save her calf. The quality of the video in the documentary was superb. The quality of this video is grainy.

      This calf was there in the area for a few days with lots of people watching to see if the herd or predators would find it.
      The National Geographic videographer had a $100,000 camera I was using $5,000 one. At 9:15pm there isn’t a lot of light hence the grain on my equipment.

    Wolfs are over rated they aren't that ferocious a man would beat one in a fight.

    • @samm-dj4zz
      @samm-dj4zz 7 лет назад

      so, you think wolves would fight like humans, maybe in a ring, with gloves? Or would they be doing Fight Club? Normally wolves are pack hunters, which helps with large prey. This wolf could have been the Omega of his pack, and thrown out (not a good life as the omega), or just decided to leave his pack, likely there were many male wolves in the pack.

      Yeah, But ever since the American Lion, Saber Toothed Tiger, Mammoth, and Flat faced Bear came extinct... They've become the dominant predator... So it ups their coolness... Hopefully scientists bring back some of those... I'd love to see that eco-system again!
