    Amazing find Abandoned Church, vintage Toilet Bowl 1910s

  • @Restroomsandtestingvideos

    There’s no privacy and pretty much all the toilets are out of order and one of the highlines does not have a seat and the urinals are gone. What else could happen?

    • @OCC_Plumbing_and_Restorations
      @OCC_Plumbing_and_Restorations  3 месяца назад +1

      I think what's going to happen is they're going to tear this entire restroom apart. Hopefully they just fix what needs to be fixed, raise the walls, and put in stall doors.

      Well, I get it. I hope they keep the standard things and vintage things, but I doubt they will.

    A beautiful bathroom but I bet nobody used the toilets unless they had to. It looks like the urinals were washout with exposed traps below since there are no urinal flanges.

    I wish this facility was still in use, with all the original fixtures. I believe the forward-trapper is from the 1910s, and survived a 1940s renovation.

      @OCC_Plumbing_and_Restorations  3 месяца назад +2

      I looked online a bit and it was built in the 1880s. When I was there, I remember hearing about something happening in the '40s like a renovation, but I don't know for sure. I can't find anything online saying that it was renovated but I sure looks like it.

    The 1920s toilet is cool!!!

  • @janeroseloave1201
    @janeroseloave1201 3 месяца назад +6

    Basically almost nothing to see here except for the 1920’s forward trap toilet, not sure what disused means and why. I don’t know if there’s a sewer issue we don’t know about or this church is closing down. There’s no privacy whatsoever and don’t know what urinals used to be here 😔🤨

    • @OCC_Plumbing_and_Restorations
      @OCC_Plumbing_and_Restorations  3 месяца назад

      The bathroom in itself is a sight to see. Disused means it used to be used but isn't anymore or hasn't been used in a while. I think that toilet doesn't flush right because it hasn't flushed in a while and it doesn't have good pressure. The church is not closing anytime soon.

    I wonder how that 20’s toilet ended up in here. I think the original fixtures were “standard” maderas or something.

    • @OCC_Plumbing_and_Restorations
      @OCC_Plumbing_and_Restorations  3 месяца назад

      The 20s toilet was probably installed before the renovation and then they just kept it when they redid the tile.

    Only one original and awesome toilet (the forward trapper). The others are modern crap, but I really like the tiles and design of the bathroom.

    • @OCC_Plumbing_and_Restorations
      @OCC_Plumbing_and_Restorations  3 месяца назад

      I think something happened in the '40s that caused this church to need renovation so I'm guessing that one survived it.

    Other than the five unused toilets mentioned, the flushometer pipes indicate seven ghost stall urinals that were previously present in this particular men's/women's toilet.

    Looks kinda like a bathroom that would have been in one of the several early 20th century elementary schools I went to as a kid in Boston. Maybe this was meant for private school/Sunday school use only? Does the church have a more modern, functional men's room somewhere now?

    • @OCC_Plumbing_and_Restorations
      @OCC_Plumbing_and_Restorations  17 дней назад +1

      It has a single user men's room in the gym with a Peerless McKinley and then another restroom near the entrance with some 1960s Kohler Bardons and Kingstons.

    You know, the drain pipes for the missing urinals are awfully *_LOW._* Trying to think of what was here and how it would fit from the 1930's and 1940's and my mind draws a blank. I'm from the 1950's era and I should know this stuff, but I reckon something is really wrong with that plumbing arrangement, just like that wierd last St. Patrick stall layout in the other St. P. video you did, aka "the sideways terlit" with sink...

    What a fascinating old bathroom. Unfortunate to see it neglected like that. I take it they just have it setup right now to lock the main door and be a single user bathroom?
