Well done Luke, well filmed in the circumstances, couldnt be easy restling with that monster. Love your reports, much better than the staged TV fishing shows. Looking forward to your lure fishing for bass.
Thanks mate appreciate you watching, yeah these can be a handful haha, going to be spending some time in North Wales soon so I'm hoping to get to grips with a few more bass before the season is up :)
Nice fish mate. Just abit of advice that life jacket won’t do you any good if you go over with waders on bud. Generally you don’t wear waders on a boat 👍🏼
Thanks mate, and yeah I hear this a lot but if you look at tests the waders actually don't flip you upsidedown or drag you down in the same way the rumours would have people believe, although I should still take them off, I just like being waterproof up to chest level its quite handy :)
Some nice tope there biggest i had was 25 lb are you off gut buoy there it was good for tope skate and sometimes mackerel, do you ever see a wooden boat going out called wonder my mates boat from Tarltan it was the old ferry boat from fleetwood to knot end
That's a great Tope buddy but do the right thing and use barbless hooks. It's so much better for the fish and dose less damage to the fish and it's easy to take the hook out. Well done.
Cox and Rawle Mutso circle extra. That's the hook. And crush the barb. I use 2 feet of wire as I have a friend who had a tope on estimated going on for 70lb. and it bit straight through 200lb mono. Ever since then I use 150lb wire, It doesn't hurt the fish, and it's better than leaving the hook in it's mouth. Good luck in getting your 70lber.
@@clarkson7777 I agree and basically use the same tackle 👍 I have been tope fishing for donkeys years and caught them up to 56lb. seen quite a few people get bitten off using J hooks and heavy mono! pinched down circles are the way to go in my opinion
@@fishingandherping7681 If you are going to be doing a lot of tope fishing may i suggest a leaver drag multiplier, i have used the ABU 7000LD,s for many years now and have found then to be a excellent choice, but sadly no longer available, the LD,s allow you to either increase or decrease the tension very easily for different states of the tide run, there are some good leaver drag reals out there today by shimano and penn,,
Hi mate, can't say which the best spot in wexford in other than clean ground around 50ft deep but bait wise I'd always recommend a mackerel flapper personally :)
The only boats round here are the 2 that work out of fleetwood mate, one is the blue mink 2 which everyone seems to rate quite highly and the other I believe is called the Kingfisher but I don't know much about them. There's a youtube channel called life of gaz and one of his videos is a tope trip out on the blue mink so maybe that will be useful to watch, tight lines 👍🏻
Blue mink 2 with Captain Andy is best. 53lb Tope was caught on Blue mink 2 this year in Fleetwood. You will have to book 1 year in advance to go on his boat.
It would be great if you offered day experiences..Maybe a little side business. It Its something that is lacking for sure. And i would certainly be happy to pay.
Sorry mate didn't realise I'd missed your comment, I would be up for doing that to be honest but I think it gets a bit sketchy with liability insurance, the boat has to meet certain safety standards etc, if I could just take people I would haha
Magic, one of the best and purest angling videos I’ve watched, thank you 🙏
Thanks so much! Really appreciate that :)
Nice video and cracking fish. Keep up the good work, treating the fish properly and returning them safe and sound. Great job.

Superb, would love a go after tope around Lancashire.
Thanks mate, yeah underrated coastline for the sea fishing in my opinion.

Thanks mate, yeah gut buoy area and yes I think I've seen that boat anchored out there sometimes :)
Tight lines baby 👍
Same to you mate :)
epic man! savour the moment! I bet you're still walking 3ft off the floor !
Haha yes mate, still buzzing off this one for a while I think, cheers for watching :)

Thanks mate 👍🏻
Great fishing. You over reef or sand?
Cheers mate, over sand this, very clean ground, sorry for the late reply.
@@fishingandherping7681 no problem buddy. Good fishing. Hoping to catch one or two myself soon.
Lads what rod do ya recommend im gonna be fishing of me boat thanks in advance
Nice fish but may I suggest a decent bait runner reel no messing with the drag I use a Penn spin Fisher liveliner never any problem 👍
Thanks mate and yeah I really need to convert to multipliers for most of my boat fishing but I'm lasting the fixed spools out as long as I can haha.

@@garyellison3589 Thanks, very useful because I am going to swap to multipliers so its helpful to know which ones people have found to be gooduns :)
What van is tgis mate i love it and im lookin for new van
It's a mitsubishi delica l400 mate, great 4wd adventure vans, 2 videos ago I did a video all about it if that helps :)
Thanks for the Reply 👍
Where would be a good spot in wexford to go tope fishing and what bait/lure would i use?

I've been looking for boats who take guests out for tope but cant seem to find any Luke. Do you know anyone please. Cheers.
