When Nigerians stop obsessing about South Africa and rather concentrate in comparing themselves with their regional peers, they may just turn the corner. Nigeria operates from a very low industrial base, in absolute and relative (per capita) terms so it doesn't help to compare it to South Africa.

Nigeria is just a paper tiger. The only reason they are number one economy in Africa is because of oil. Other than that what do they have. Their infrastructure is no match to South Africa and South Africa has a diverse economy.
Your economy needs to be three times the size of South Africa for things to work but then you will need better roads... something that SA has and better transportation system, also better electrification, education, housing, less importation of goods and small, medium and big businesses. The confusion has to stop and also proper markets need to be in place and training physical and in online spaces.
