Only listened to perhaps about half and it’s kinda weak. It’s become surplus to the genre. You wouldn’t know you were listening to ‘velvet meadow’, but you wouldn’t care either as it just sounds like whatever else. You wouldn’t ask who you were listening to because why would it matter when you can just play anything from that genre. Catalogued.
There’s an upload called “a moment with velvet meadow”. It is sublime.
I think there’s a change in creativity. Perhaps a band has been allowed to insert their own melodies and fillers when before it sounded like a freshly plucked homage with a distinct creative drive lightly pollocked in influence that listeners would only understand if they knew.
I’ll listen to it completely when the opportunity comes but so far it’s just mediocre, trendy wallpaper music.
Thank you for the feedback Randy! I’m bummed you didn’t like the first half. I think the 2nd half might give you some of the old school sound from my previous work! It’s crazy people like the older stuff more because I always thought it was my weakest stuff. This album was written completely by myself in my bedroom with the only influence being my drummer Micah and his production tips. I got into synthesizers and wanted to try something different as you can hear with the majority of the vibe throughout being different from my older work. I will say the next stuff I’m working on will be heavily guitar based like 60s psych garage. I want to go back to my roots again, but better than I have ever done! I really appreciate the feedback and hold much love for your support. You wouldn’t tell me if you didn’t care❤️
