  • When You Come Home
    I’ve seen canyons and mountains
The big ones and the others.
I’ve been on rivers and the bottom of lakes
I’ve been in cities large and small.
    I’ve seen the Northern Lights
    And the Tasman Sea.
But when I step back inside my home
Is when I’m happiest of all.
If you go wandering cause it’s in your blood
Then get on that plane and ride the old bus.
Walk until your feet are sore
And the sun is blinding you.
Take in the deserts and the glaciers.
And don’t forget the markets and museums.
    Eat everything on your plate
    Don’t care about tomorrow
    For it will surely come.
    Just remember to come home
When the time is just right.
And when you’ve seen it all.
And nothing is a surprise any more.
You might find a friend next door
Or a girl or boy in the next town
    That makes coming home
The best thing you’ve ever done.
