    Hey! I did my cae in December and today I found out I passed with flying colors!
    I was extremely lazy and studied a total of 6 hours plus watching your videos.
    I’m studying an Asian language in my bachelors and with that language it’s the same: you study for the exam, not the language. After my 6 hours of studying I did a mock exam and I sucked.
    Watching your videos about how the exam is structured was so enlightening to me!
    I passed with 207, which basically equals C2 level (it says c2 on the certificate) with 210 in “use of English” and reading.
    And I’m above 200 in every category.
    So guys, remember to familiarize yourself with how this specific exam works and don’t rest on being able to speak English well because that’s not enough. Good luck everyone!!

      @meels9 9 месяцев назад +1

      Hi! First of all, congratulations for your CAE! I want to prepare my CAE exam but I don't know how to prepare myself for that. I mean, how did you organise your days? One day vocabulary, another day grammar and so? And in terms of study vocabulary, did you use any technique such as flashcards or a traditional "list" or how did you improve your skills? It's like there is a lot of material on the Internet but you don't know which of this material use. I hope I have explained it well. Thank you!

    • @VaatiMalfoy
      @VaatiMalfoy 8 месяцев назад +6

      @@meels9 Hey, sorry for the late answer.
      So first of all, maybe I was just really lucky and I wouldn't recommend to stick to whatever I did.
      So I learned using a CAE Preperation book for two weeks, doing two chapters every day (taking me 1-2 hours). I did that and noticed there isn't much vocabulary that I didn't know before (apart from words like "quaint!" lmao
      But tbh I feel like book that made no difference at all.
      But these videos really helped me so I would advice you to watch at least one video onevery chapter that talks about how to solve the questions in detail.
      You should know what kind of questions you will be getting and have a rough Idea what order you want to do. This saves you time & prevents you from getting nervous in the heat of the moment!
      If you have time to prepare maybe you could get a book that is focussed on CAE becuase the vocabulary will probably be relevant. But the grammar part just got me hella confused becuase they name the tenses and grammatical things they want from you which we can all intuitively use but don't know what they are called. But you don't need to know that anyways, so don't sweat it.
      I think you'll be fine with grammar aand talking anyways as far as I can judge.
      What you CAN prepare a lot for (and so you should) is the speaking part. the questions for you are always going to be more predictable than the rest of what you have to do so prepare some fancy-sounding sentences for that.
      And for the writing part, familiarize yourself with the difference of writing formal/informal letters. It's always good to fresh up on that beause I personally forgot some of the rules (because no one sticks to them irl anyways)
      and do mock exams! :D Good luck

    Hello Ben,
    Héctor from Paraguay here. I want to let you know that I passed the C1 exam last May with an overall score of 198, which is almost a C2 level. I scored C2 in Use of English (209) and Listening (202), and I credit your videos as part of my success. Your videos played an instrumental role in helping me achieve this. I can say with certainty that the effort you put into creating your videos has had a significant impact on many of us, from those who are just starting to learn English to those who want to master the intricacies of the language.
    My English learning journey began in 2018, and while my main goals remain the same, learning English has also helped me understand how different cultures express their ideas and opinions. Learning a new language is not just about using different words and sounds; it goes much deeper than that. The more you delve into it, the more you start to perceive things from a different perspective, which in turn fosters tolerance - something we need more than ever before.
    I am taking a break now, not from English, but from preparing for English language exams. However, I hope to return soon to prepare for the C2 level and that you will continue your excellent work because I will surely need it in the future.
    Thank you.

The pretest is to be taken in a month from now and only a half an hour ago I started to understand what the CAE actually is (i'm taking the CAE this autumn though). Hello Ben! I studied Italian many years at Dante Alighieri School. Once in my English classes I asked the teacher something I discovered that it could be equal to the Italian language that modifies the pronunciation of the previous vowel when it is followed by two consonants. Recommendation, Apple, Accomodation, among hundreds of other words, for example. She told me that she was going to find out that she was going to find it. At that moment she told me that she did not know. After a week the answer was yes. I would like to know what your opinion is about it. Is it really like that? Thank you very much.
