From Bergen to Oslo: A Majestic Winter Train Expedition in Pluss Car

In this video you will join me on this beautiful train journey from Bergen to Oslo. I'll be in the Pluss car which is the Bergen Line's version of first class. You'll see the layout, comfort, and even learn some history about the famous route. This journey will take us 7 hours to complete.
I will do a quick tour of the train station too and show you where you can get your tickets and food. The Bergen Line takes you through beautiful scenery, the Hallingdal valley, across the Hardangervidda National Park with views of mountain peaks and the Hardangerjokulen glacier at Finse, rocky areas with tunnels, the Vosso river & the Sorfjord between Voss and Bergen. The line makes stops at villages and popular ski resorts en route.
The views from the train are stunning and perfect for all winter travelers. The interior of the train is really nice too, comfy seats and lots of space. The restroom was a good size too and had nature themed wallpaper which was a nice touch. As you’re going along, you get to see how people are living and the small villages.

Matt thanks for the video, we are trying to get the seats for it and were contemplating the backward seats, and I get motion sickness, so your video saved me, thanks again, hope you felt better after that.

Hey Matt, just watched all of your RUclips channel, cool stuff! I did the Oslo to Bergen on that train, then took Winderoe Airlines up to Tromso to see the Northern Lights. I also flew Lufthansa-800 but to and from LAX, our travel tastes are pretty similar!

I was going to be on that train a few years ago, but had to cancel my trip to Norway at the last minute (health issue). Maybe I'll get to do it in the future. It didn't occur to me about getting motion sickness on a train. I've never had, but sure have on a boat. If I go, I'll pack some Dramamine. Thanks for reminding me.
Not entirely sure what got the best of me. I was the last car which was the business type class and it was definitely rocking back and forth good.
@@mattsmoments2 You reminded me of when I went on a whale watching tour in Santa Barbara years ago with a visiting relative. It was the vomit voyage for me. I spent most of the time in the bathroom. After the boat ride I told my relative I have lived in Southern California most of my life and have never seen whales in the ocean. She then tells me, "well, if you didn't spend all your time in the bathroom, you would see whales!" ;)

Just a small comment - The Flåm line is not narrow gauge. It is standard gauge, but I believe it to be the steepest "normal traction" railway in Europe. There are steeper ones in Switzerland, but they use a rack in the middle of the rails to get up the steepest parts.
Good to learn as well.
