I honestly have been timid to buy the Remaster for Switch, because of its technical difficulties. But this game is a masterpiece and it’s refreshing to hear kind words in regard to this remaster, than people still complaining about it being in 30 FPS.
It’s such an important game to a lot of people, the characters are incredibly developed and charming. Im glad to see this and I’m glad to hear your love for it.

i think i do value the remaster a bit more than others who own/ have played the gamecube version since i haven’t played the gamecube version myself. i do like having physical copies of games and i only have a switch, so getting the remaster was quite nice.

I bought the PS4 version and am currently playing it on my PS5. This is one of my favorite games and I played through it multiple times on GameCube.
Overall, the GC version "feels" better, especially when it comes to framerate, and some animations, but I'm really enjoying this version. New Unison attacks, titles/costumes and some dialogue changes. I feel like I'm getting the complete experience, and it'll be fun to (hopefully) complete all the PS achievements for this game, one day.

Havent watched the video yet but let me just say this. The 30fps isnt a deal breaker at least not on xbox and playstation. it plays fine and It is still one of the best jrpgs to be ever made in 30fps as it was on the gamecube in 60.

ToS is probably in my top 3 games of all time but I just can’t give my tacit approval to Bamco for such shoddy work, in fear of them lowering the bar with each subsequent project they do. I’ll buy if they patch out a lot of the issues or a deep sale, which stinks to say, cuz I love this game.

I'll get it when the price drops down to $10, but in reality I find this unexcusable that Bamco practically rushed this port since it's based off of the ps2 port. Even when Square enix lost the source code to the original kingdom hearts, they were able to get it running 60 on PS4. I really wish the team delayed the game and took more time to work on it and make even more changes to make the game look different instead of a straight on lazy port.

    • @TheDavisWIN

yeah i will say the remaster probably could’ve been priced lower, the steam version goes on sale all the time for $10 and it’s essentially the same thing

well i have to say i enjoyed this video ! because honestly i stopped watching "review" videos quite a while ago because i got tired of sitting there listening to someone complain for 30 mins ! for some reason they think that is professional ! but this video was very enjoyable . you pointed out the bad things but you focused on the good things ! i love Symphonia also and will eventually pick it up for switch and play it yet again lol !

thank you! i’m sure there are others like me who prefer playing on console over PC but don’t have a gamecube. you can’t tell everyone to just get the gamecube or PC version (though the PC version is more affordable and convenient) because those could be outside of their preferences. so i do want to extend my audience to those who want to get into the franchise.

I'd love to see you do a review of Tales of Berseria or Tales of Arise at some point.
Symphonia was also mu first entry point into the series and my friends and I played it together. Because my friend always played as Lloyd, I played as Colette and got scary good as her. So good I did a solo Colette run and crushed the enemies as her. Hardest part was healing but when she's spamming her attacks for 2000 damage per hit and hitting five times in mere seconds its kinda broken. Any fan of the game, try playing as Colette, Sheena, Presea or even Genis for a fun time.

I want to play Tales of Symphonia, but I have no respect for Namco for making this ‘remaster.’ I can find it on PC for half the price. I refuse to pay extra for “it’s the exact same game you remember, but worse!”

Should've bought the steam version patch it with the PC fix a texture pack and bam Remastered experience for 5$ and if you have a Steam Deck or just a laptop bam portable for 5$,
Not crapping on the Switch or the game just the fact that this "Remaster" ain't worth the 40$ price tag, you have full blown remakes that are cheaper than this and all that Namco did was poorly port it to current consoles and ran the textures thru a auto sharpener not to mention the fact that it doesn't include the sequel.
At most id pay for this port is 15$

I bought the ToS Remaster on PS4 to compare to the Gamecube version i own too. Since Bandai Namco lost the Gamecube sourcecode and only has access to the PS2 sourcecode we get these Remaster problems and yeah probaply laziness from Bamco. Yes Tales of Symphonia on Gamecube was my first Tales of- game and my introduction to it that this series even exists.

Can't tell people what to do with their money but this isn't worth $40. This port is AT BEST a $10 game. They had forever to redo this and this is what they give us? Unacceptable!
This was a lazy cash grab to take advantage of the uninitiated. I would wait until this game is at least half off or just emulate it. Bandai doesn't deserve anyone's money for this.

    • @TheDavisWIN

I'll stick to my Gamecube version that I bought when my local video store closed it's doors.
Glitches and frame rate are one thing, but cutting dialogue? Yeah, that's a deal breaker.
I don't blame people for playing remaster, but for me it would be like settling for McDonalds after having filet mignon.

Where is tales of symphonia dawn of the new world, why is it not included?

    • @Sevent77
      @Sevent77 Год назад +3

Because that would require some actually effort, ToS was already ported to pc so they already had a version that would be very easily and more importantly cheap to port, while Dawn is Wii and ps3 exclusive with most likely no source code existing, Namco would have to pay a hefty penny to have it reverse engineering and ported.
