Wow I really love hearing these stories about all the greats...I grew up listening to everyone's records. My momma was 39 when she had me so I was listening to a wide range of music. Music from her time she was born 1927 then my siblings were born in the 40s. My nieces and nephews were born 59 and early 60s then I came along 66 so the music I grew up on was so vast and I loved it. I can't wait for part 3. God bless
Wow fantastic.so enjoying Stan awesome stories .and to think his father Carl had been out to Autobahn drive with Elvis and i to have walked that path. The memories this guy has is just beautiful.Thank you so much Billy.so looking forward to part 3 and wishing you a happy new year ahead of more interesting history coming our way from you.🎸🎤🌈
Stan 'the man' Perkins gave a laid back and country cool interview with stories that drew me in and took me away😁 A great start to this First Day of 2020❤God bless😘
Stan is such a great story teller. I felt as if I was right there as he told the stories. I loved the part where he said the car was longer than the house he lived in. Lol. Another home run interview Spa Guy. Looking forward to part 3. ❤
I was hanging on to every word . I could just picture all of that happening . Amazing stories !! Thank you Stan Perkins and Spa Guy for sharing another great video and Happy New Year !!
Wow how interesting the stories Stan has to tell,Thanks Billy what a great interview, this is amazing I like that hes telling it like it was HAPPY NEWYEAR 😀👍
Brilliant Spa Guy!...Just a note ..in 1990 Johnny Cash played in the hotel where I worked in Ireland..I was a chef..we didn't do room service but I was told Johnny is in his room and he wants a cheeseburger and a Guinness...I said let me cook that for him..and I did!..went and watched the show that night...my claim to fame of The Man in Black!
Wow, what amazing stories. So glad you are getting them down Billy so they aren't lost. Off to watch part three. Hate to see it come to an end as his stories are just so fabulous.
Billy you need to setup a lot more interviews with Stan.... He is just full of wonderful stories. Please book him for a month's worth of great stories.😁😁
Glad to hear Elvis was pondering his future Las Vegas triumph in 1956. I just read Linda Thompson gave her TLC necklace to her son she had with Bruce (currently Caitlyn) Jenner. Linda told Elvis in 1976 she would marry Bruce Jenner. She said Elvis said 'over my dead body.' Elvis was a wonderful individual with great ability to see the future either personally or professionally. Thanks again for your Elvis information. Happy 2020 to all good folks following Elvis information.
I absolutely love these videos with Mr. Stan Perkins. You did great Spa Guy. These are so historical. You worked hard on these, but all of them have been enjoyed and will continue to be. Thank you!
You said at the beginning of video #1 that I’d probably learn something. I never did know that they didn’t cross paths after the MDQ sessions. That’s a damn shame really. These videos are great. He’s a really great guy, & wow is his memory sharp. What a pleasure listening to him tell stories. The way he talks reminds me a lot of Billy Smith. This is a great get....I’m looking forward to more!
Looking forward to more great videos in 2020. Stan Perkins seems like a very nice person with some really interesting stories. Thanks for sharing all your research and info in such an entertaining way! Happy New Year, Billy! 🎉
Carl is the God Father of Rockabilly and Stan is the Prince. What you see is what you get with Stan. He is the real deal, a genuine person. Stan needs to write a book!
Thank you Mr Spa Guy for recording this history. Now it's not lost. This is awesome to learn. It's so inspiring. I have loved learning about all these great young men. Men like them are a rarity now days.
A Million Dollar Trio 🤭😎love Stans humour....some interesting facts here... loved the story's.. Stan seems so proud to be Carl Perkins son and rightly so 👍. Thanks SpaGuy
The Million Dollar Quartet, fizeram histórias!!! Grandes talentos do Rock And Roll. I love ♡. Fico feliz em saber que Carl está vivo e muito bem. Deus o abençoe muito.
I believe that it’s still the million dollar quartet. Sam May have not been talking about that very moment of the photo but more less about the future. He was a very smart pioneer as we all know. Thanks for sharing Billy and Stan!
I heard Elvis went to the Studio that day because he heard Jerry Lee was going to be there playing with Carl and Elvis want to meet Jerry Lee ... I own a 1st pressing of the Million Dollar Quartet .... its the only record I own !!!
Funny how Sam knew to do that pic that day. Think how famous the pic got to be? Wow! Real story, real people. Things happen for a reason! Thank Goodness for Sam Phillips. That pic got to be so famous! I love it. What great stories he has. Thank goodness he told Stan the stories. Bless his heart.
I wonder if the story of Carl recording in Eastview at age 19 are true? This makes me want to make that trip to Jackson I've always dreamed of, just to see what Carl saw. Thanks again Billy, this series is really dear to me.
Yes Stan has several of the original Guitars I have videos of the 1953 les Paul he wrote Blue Suede Shoes and the 1962 Epiphone Emporer used on the Johnny Cash Live at Folsom and San Quentin shows as well as others on this channel..
I believe the 'quartet' reference came from the the local reporter from the Memphis Press Scimitar, Bob Johnson who was there and whose photographer took the photo. In his newspaper article he made reference along the lines of 'if that quartet put out a record it would sell a million copies' - words to that effect. Great stories from Stan
Amazing interviews!!! I like to ask a question? 🤔 Mr. Billy how do you get to speak to these famous people? So cool 😎 Greetings from California State 🌞
I always wondered why Johnny Cash was on the picture of TMQ but we could hearing him but now Stan has clarified that , and I'm very surprised to learn that Elvis and Carl never met in person after 1956 cause I always thought they were seeing each other once in a while throu the 60' and 70's .
Me and Tom Evans took this Million dollar quartet to Nashville. We had it in a suitcase for years One day we took this to Nashville. Tom was in the studio and he turned on the microphone and recorded it. He gave it to me to hide for years. I kept it under my bed until one day when we were in Nashville and met Sonny James and a man named Mr.Wolf.
Tom Evans had been working with Jerry when I met Tom.We hung out with Ken Mc Duffy who was A songwriter and fiddle player with Marty Robbins. Ken saw the tape also before we took it to Nashville. Every record company said they owned it but we had it so we owned it
Barbara private pretty cool great memories had and top artists what a way to go, that’s so cool a. that’s pretty cool, Great memories that was sad never forgotten no doubt that’s pretty cool hair, My dad owed a Plymouth car don’t no. 👍👌👌. pretty cool story’s.... that’s very cool with the record player,
118,000 miles in one yr. Sleeping in the carb, driving all night... CRAZY. Kinda like a factory with how much production did we make today ? Elvis did it...bet Hank Williams did it...others. Now they have your buses. But this had to take a toll on the spirit mind & body. With this schedule no wonder Cash Elvis & others started the uppers & downers. Here's your free car ! ( only one thing you paid for it...& ya never got to pick the one you liked ) Record player in the car! Unreal. ( hey Stan that color in your room your sitting in ,is the same interior color of my 1300 sq ft rancher. ) Billy is so tuned in to every Stan story. Spa Guy is hanging on to every word & sentence. Good stuff !!!
The truth is that this was a once in a lifetime event that took place totally by chance. An unscheduled recording session that has not been bettered by anyone yet imo....
Didn't Billy Smith say on a video (MMK) that he was falling asleep during a performance at Graceland and Elvis kicked him and said something like..."this is a million dollar concert and you're sleeping.."
@@SpaGuy Actually, I think Elvis flew a few people in from Nashville to play at Graceland. Can't remember who they were, but were important and well known.
I can't say this enough, I appreciate the hard work you put into your videos!

my thoughts exactly!!
Good stuff, nice man. I think he played guitar or bass with his Dad in the 70's, 80's and 90's.
He played drums for his Dad for 22 years but he started on guitar.. He also Managed his Dad for 10 years..
Is Stan still involved with the music business these days? Does he have any siblings?
Great story on Million dollar Trio

Sam Cooke covered ‘Matchbox’
he sure looks like his father Carl Perkins , does he sing too ? Did he ever meet Elvis Or The Beatles ?
Yes he sings and plays the guitar very well.. He hung out with the Beatles but never met Elvis.. Beatles stories coming up...
Hey Billy. I sent you a message on Facebook. Would love to chat with you a bit.
I think johnny lang or kenny wayne sheppard sings that song about the matchbox.
