  • Some men make a decision to move in with the family of the woman that they met online as soon as they get off the plane. Is this a good idea? Thanks for watching.
Disclaimer: This vlog is not a knock on Filipino culture or anything negative or demeaning or implying that foreigners are above Filipino standards. It's about the difficulties of trying to adjust to a new culture directly off the plane.

No! My wife actually says we need distance between us and the inlaws to keep a happy marriage when we make the move. End of discussion 😊

Guys, you don't want to do this too long. It's okay for short time, but as soon as you can, take your lady and get out on your own. It's one of those things that are just not meant to be. You need distance, and in case you have not realized, your LADY needs the distance as well (too much family/neighborhood pressure). Peace out!

No, NFW, nyet. After 5 years together (53 sqm condo Cebu City) we lived with her family while our house was being built. Worst 8 months of my life.
They're nice people but there were up to 14 / 16 people in their house at any given time. 10 living there. With the dried fish smell , other cooking smells, and just plain noise it was terrible (kids / music - TV on full blast).
Once house was built, (to Western standards - master BR 24 ft x 16ft room includes private bath) we started having LOTS of visitors all day every day (mothers and their kids) . We have 3 TVs and they'd turn the all on.
She always made them food (tradition here). After 1 month I gave her an ultimatum - either she goes to back to big house to visit / eat the dried fish or I'm moving back to Cebu City.
Now we don't have nearly the number or frequency. 1 maybe 2 for an hour a day.
She does go to big house for a total of maybe 7 / 8 hours a day which is fine with me. I don't need her here simply to have her here. When we were in Cebu City we'd visit family at their INN on Mactan 1 day a week and she was on phone to Bohol several hours a day.

Definitely not, if you have to move in with her family when you get over there you might as well just stay in your home country and keep on saving your money. moving in with your lady's family in any country is a terrible idea, especially in small quarters.

I’m actually moving to Colombia 🇨🇴 in two months. I will be moving in with my girlfriend and her mom there. But I’ve already been there already at her place on vacation, plus we’ve lived together in the US before she came back to Colombia. But at the same time, Colombia is not the Philippines. Definitely don’t have rats and large spiders there though.

I think if the place is real big and not bumping heads with each other. My wife family is my new family. A place with so much room you meet in the cooking area. The privacy has to be super super great.

The main attraction for me in the Philippines was the great family connections, I came from a very broken home. It wasn't all peaches and cream when we built our home and lived there surrounded by family, but there was plenty of good times too! After a year, we moved to Dumaguete where life was less hardship. Water is/was a house running down the side of the road and you have 2 hours a day to fill your water jugs from the trickle of water, and that was for drinking. We have gutters to catch rain for washing clothes, diskes, showering, and toilet. No rain, then it was down to the small stream behind the house and down a very slippery slope, or going down the road to the big river. Then theres the brownouts that can last for hours or days and can occur multiple times a day. No internet, even cellphone services are spotty.

I will finish watching this video later. But the immediate answer is no! Hell no! No way! I'm sure when I come back to finish watching this video you will have the same answer. NO! If only more guys would listen to you, and take your words to heart, and research the things you say, they would get into far less trouble and suffer far less heartache and disappointment. Good luck always with your channel, Calvin!

I stayed in a hotel room for the first week and then I decided to say F it and stay at my ladies parents house. The only person put out was rhe kid to the living room couch. They don't mind me being there and I'm sure they hadn't eaten as good everyday until I got there. I plan on staying there for 6 months when I return hopefully next month. The tabo showers is not that bad and flushing the toilet reminds me of growing up poor and getting the water from the neighbors hose. I'm one of the 3 Calvin was talking about I think. Renting a 2 bedroom apartment is not expensive in the city where I was in is 7k pesos or 120 USD a month. I already have her room set up for my return. Aircon and water cooler. She won't use that aircon tho while I'm not there.
