When Heber seen his family at around the 30:00 mark I began to tear up, just that he stopped his run to send those few precious moments with his kids and wife.... Then he started his monologue at 30:08 and i was litterally a sook! It is how i have viewed every CF class, and every run race. I needed that reminder though! Thanks mate!
Great video! I'm 40 this year and tried to beat a bunch of old PRs. I'm calling this year: "Forty, Fit, and Fabulous". I was at this Ironman too - my first - and I'm happy to see the race covered so well! That swim was brutal for a bunch of us.
Congratulations! I'm in awe of anyone who has the mental strength and stamina to finish one. I would always volunteer and watch Ironman Canada here in Penticton and I always meet the nicest people from around the world! Well done y'all!
Wow!!! Congrats Heber, Billy, Tyson, Sam, West and Cole! Extremely extremely impressive! Incredible the base that CrossFit provides you seeing you guys take this on and Sam beat some more experienced IronMan athletes. Truly a testament to how the training makes you prepared for anything.
man, Billy reminds me a lot of myself. He's a little more fit, funny, and better looking but i TRY to bring that attitude no matter what! it's harder to do than it looks! You guys rock.
What an Epic accomplishment to you all. Hats off to the Buttery crew for challenging yourselves in to doing something that most people are terrified of doing. Great episode as always
I come from a swimming and triathlon background that just started CrossFit 2years ago. Seeing you guys do and document this is such an inspiration for athletes, Crossfitters, DADs etc 🙏🏽 I enjoy all you guys content. It was awesome meeting you all at Madison last year
Nicely done dude! I’m 21 and I did my first full Ironman this year with just a month of training and that is partly what makes it so exciting. I had done 3 half Ironman races and always knew I could do a full but just hadn’t. One of my races had gotten canceled so I decided to go all in on a full that was a month later and I’m so happy I did it. I finished in 12h 26m and I will never forget the feeling of crossing that finish line!
Love this!!! Thanks for sharing your journey! Def felt some type of way watching y’all enter the water after witnessing in-person what we did this summer. Way to honor the emotion but not let it hold you back 🫶🏼 I could feel the gratitude. So cool. Congrats!
Thanks for the inspiration! I need to try something hard now. I can’t imagine what challenge you guys will do next, but I’m certain it will be as awesome you guys are.
Great job man. Keep it up. As our age goes up, it's a war to keep ourselves fit and even better than some old days, I can see you are winning this war.
Well done on everyone finishing and awesome job on the video, it captures exactly what these races should be about. I have been doing Ironman's and longer since 1991 and the jaded old bastard in me sometimes needs reminding of how special race week can be.
What an amazing accomplishment and video to document it! Great job gentleman! I turn 39 in a couple weeks. I was toying with the idea to do a marathon when I turn 40. Not in the best shape now. But This video just inspired me to commit to this goal. Let the training begin! #fortyandfit
Absolutely awesome to be able to see this. A little disappointed I got there too late to wish Heber good luck but cool to talk to Mars during the swim a bit. Hope you guys make it back to AZ I get where you guys are soon enough, awesome content bros! 😎
Awesome achievement guys! 🎉🎉 Loved the video! Please come to Estonia next year! I’m doing my first Ironman and I would love to meet you guys and perform the honorary litter box 😂 P.s please start sell the buttery tri suits as merch they are awesome 🤩
Sam Dancer - Ironman Wisconsin has the best spectators! The bike is brutal but the crowds are electric. There might be some ptsd from the games being hosted in madison but i promise it's amazing!
For anyone about to do their first triathlon, here’s what I’ve learned. Never use gear that you haven’t used in training. A wetsuit could be too tight and restrict your breathing and you don’t want to learn this on race day. Bring a space inner tube and c02 so you can change a flat if needed. Know how to change a flat. Sometimes support vehicles aren’t around Always get your wetsuit wet and soaked 10 or so minutes before the start of the swim so your body can heat up the water. This will keep you warmer at the start of the swim. Warming up for the swim is key Unzip your wetsuit and get your arms and shoulders out before taking off your cap and goggles. You need two hands. If you’re already holding your cap and goggling in 1 hand, taking off the top and prepping during the bike transition is harder. Jog all transitions. You won’t feel like doing this after the swim but it will help flush the legs. The bike leg is your leg to catch up on hydration and fuel so start immediately. I like to slam a gel in transition once I’ve tossed the wetsuit. Be purposeful about fuels and rehydrating on the bike or you’ll bonk on the run Speed laces for your running shoes are nice because you can slip them on quickly. Jog out of transition into the run and keep jogging. Be mindful it’s also super easy to run too fast for the first mile. You may feel dead and want to walk. Keep a steady jog the whole time to flush the legs from the bike leg and focus on slower pace. If you feel great it’s tempting to go too fast and forget you have tons of miles left. If you feel great then reserve that for halfway through the run. One the run, use almost every aid station to grab water or electrolytes to consume or water and ice to pour on your face and put in your shirt. The run is at the hottest part of the day and it’s easy to overheat. Just some tiny tips that I’ve learned from 2 sprints, 2 Olympic, and 1 half Ironman. So much is about living in the moment and taking it one mile and one step at a time.
"Race Brain" coming out of the water is so real. All those hard-to-explain moments were perfectly captured. Down to someone else using your supplies... well done, all!
I’ve been waiting for this video, and you guys did not disappoint! So incredible and an amazing inspiration! Big question.. why didn’t mars do it with you? 🤣

Great video! I'm 40 this year and tried to beat a bunch of old PRs. I'm calling this year: "Forty, Fit, and Fabulous". I was at this Ironman too - my first - and I'm happy to see the race covered so well! That swim was brutal for a bunch of us.
