Exfil really shines a light on the problems tabor has. Especially with the lackluster healing mechanic where bandeges prevent healing and it takes way longer to heal in tabor than if you have to fix a blacked out limb in exfil. The lack of modularity for armors and weapons, the lack of parts for weapons and diffrent variations of weapons. The quest system being bare bones even after the overahul, due to a lack of random items and miscellaneous trinkets. Hell even the prices of stuff are similar. Streamer items are all 20k and the only other item to really look for is keycards or gpus. Weve had 2 years with tabor and then exfil drops an alpha with waaaaay more content. I cant help but feel sorta cheated by tabor when most of the content is paid dlc, or skins. Like sure you can get the dlc items off other players but the taran pistols are op as hell compared to the base game versions. (Not like pistols are even really viable now with the aim bot scavs lol)
My biggest issue with the tabor comunity how they always get pissy over bringing up Valid criticism. Its a coin flip wearher or not you get told "skill issue" or "your a troll". Its annoying as hell.
The community isn’t even part of the game, bug submissions aren’t an interaction. Who cares if a kid tells you skill issue when you criticize. I don’t even see this nearly as often as I see it get repeated lol

I think after exfil zone people have been just ignoring any good or genuine response from the devs, the devs have been working hard and have been showing it, they even gave back any loot you brought in raid and lost to scav on day 1 before patch when they were extremely op. Updates are always slow. No weapon attachment updates. I don't understand why there are so few attachments, and the choice of weapons is almost non-existent. How far can our patience go?
I personally haven't experienced anything wrong with Tabor. My personal opinion is I like Tabor a little more because Exfil Zone on Quest 2 is insanely laggy. Again, it's an "opinion". Also, all of a sudden people are hating on every little thing that happens. Before Exfil Zone came out, no one cared at all when that stuff happened At 14:56 in the chat theyr'e like "The VSS is too loud" like calm the frick down. Everyone's trying to find every little thing that's even remotely aggravating to them and then they'll go to comment and rant about it. Like everyone needs to calm tf down it's just a game

I play both games but I like tabor better because I get a good feeling when I have good raids, I also prefer the map design and (personally) graphics of tabor and the simplicity, I don’t know but tabor is better for me too. I found my first gpu today after playing the game for a year, walked out of the tech store in mall, and got ambushed by three scavs coming from where I already was. I killed 2 of them and shot the last one with a whole smg mag and I died. Some of the new scavs are basically invincible.
I love the game. But there’s certain things with it that are quite frankly bullshit, and should’ve been fixed a long time ago. Not to mention new bugs like the audio in one ear thing that is taking DAYS to fix for some reason, and has gotten me killed multiple times, by the way. The worst part of it all has to be the devs being childish about it for no reason, other than the fact that they’re likely butthurt because an alpha is doing what they do better, and with less bugs.

You were the one who got me and my son playing tabor together after I first watched your tabor vids back in the day...but I've always had alot of issues with tabor and it's lack of stability or just being able to play 2 rounds back to back without any major issues and CWS just doesn't want to fix said issues or listen to it's customers without saying skill issue! Exfilzone is a breath of fresh air and i personally find it alot more fun just not having to worry about all the game ruining glitches! Personally, my problem with the recent hate is its incorrectly directed, mostly coming from people who have little experience in game dev, deciding shitting on the devs is the correct way to deliver the criticism, I also think some of the complaints are blown way out of proportion, they added two DLCs this wipe, one is a cosmetic skin DLC and the other is multiplayer PVE, neither of these are overbearing and would have had little to no effect on development, and bugs on release are to be expected with every major update in ANY game, there were only a few bugs added relatively speaking and the original fenix weren't bugged, they were just overturned (i personally preferred hotfix 1 scavs but if people like the current state then cool), I can go into more detail about this but it's not as black and white as people have been painting it and the game is in a genuinely pretty good state at the moment other than a few balance changes like certain tasks and the EXP yield My problem with CWS currently is the way they handle the community, they can be very unprofessional and often respond to questions with more hostility than is necessary. This does NOT excuse the bomb threats or anything like that, however, I am of the belief that your community is a reflection of how well you manage it, and the GoT community currently has been out of line on both the CWS and player base side IMO, it does seem like they're trying to learn though, and I would like to see them build their community back to the point it used to be Being cynical about the state of the game does nothing for us and only slows the feedback loop this game is currently so desperate on, being overly hostile gets us nothing, and that's my exact criticism of CWS rn, we shouldn't be hating on them or calling them horrible devs, that only serves to cause division rather than help the game we all want to see succeed, to use your analogy, yea tell the kid they aren't ready for X Factor, however, don't tell the kid they're a bad person and have no hope of ever getting better, and blowing every mistake up to make it seem like they're incapable of doing anything, because that's equally if not more harmful than just lying to them. Tan has a really good mentality and perspective when it comes to this. I think both sides are at fault. The devs released an update that had many more bugs and was unbalanced in certain aspects, like the Fenix. Have yall noticed certain items spawn more now? I did one island raid and pulled the newer pistol optics constantly. Wire spools. Knives, and rope are everywhere.
I love this video. I work in tech and could never imaging treating my users terribly because of a bug my team released. The whole point of criticism is to treat it as feedback for bug fixes and feature requests. The hardest lesson I ever learned working on codebases is that "you are NOT your code", and CWS needs to realize this. They put out a broken, severely broken, product this wipe and people raised concern, they took it personally and mismanaged the community. The L is on them this time.

Let’s consider whether Tabor will actually change and add even a fraction of the features that Alpha Exfill has. I believe it won’t. Both games run on Unreal Engine, so there’s no technical advantage apart from the developers’ skills. All the changes in Tabor over the past year have been purely cosmetic and haven’t addressed the game’s core issues. They also haven’t fixed the severe bugs that have been present since almost the beginning. It looks like either they don’t know how to fix them-because the game’s backbone is so patched together that it’s barely holding-or (for the same reason) it’s no longer even possible. Why do I think that? Because whenever they add something (and I emphasize-it’s only minor tweaks and new assets), a ton of new bugs immediately appear-and always fixing them cost long time (or not fixed never like buzz sound at Island and turned 90 degrees scopes added by last wipe) This makes it seem like the project is too much for them to handle. Just look at the maps-at first glance, they look nice, but they’re really just based on rectangular shapes. Collisions for any object that isn’t a cube are practically impossible-this is a sign of semi-amateurish skills. Personally, I think the developers know full well that they can’t change much anymore, so they’re trying to monetize the game as much as possible (constantly releasing DLCs with unnecessary gadgets) because they know it will collapse sooner or later. And I believe that moment is approaching with Exfill, which is several levels better.

At 41:15 ive had the same thing happen i threw a grenade at a scav and the sever lagged i didnt know my friend went close to the scave it was a crazy throw and i killed him and the scav

The "X Factor" analogy is a little corny, but the most cliche sounding things feel cliche because we have to keep repeating these lessons over and over to people; if you don't show people that they need to improve, they never will. I've been playing tabor on the quest 2 basically since it came out and have been pretty into it. While ive been impatiently waiting for my quest 3 upgrade however, I was genuinely wondering if giving exfilzone would be worth a try because I was thinking about getting it.
I've played both so far and I like both for different reasons. Exfil has a massive number of features out of the gate but still has a different type of jank than Tabor has (shifting terrain, other interface oddities, and the guns feel like plastic toys in Exfil, which is weird, and on and on). The Tabor team needs to have more confidence in the quality of it's product, because despite it's flaws, it's still a great game. All VR titles are weird, because it's a brand spanking new media and there's a lot of negotiating going on. Scott needs to take a step back from community engagement. Founder syndrome is evident, which isn't a knock, a lot of leaders go through this. He's obviously driving a great team, but he needs to get out of the way of his advocates.
That's because an alpha has more content, more missions, more loot and more mechanics than tabor which has been out for over 2 years now. We still dont have individual healing, or leaning which were talked about over a year ago. It took tabor 2 years to give us slightly better missions. Dont forget the bunker in tabor has less, and cant be upgraded as extensively. All tanor has going for it is the gunplay and sound design. Which will only be for now. Ohh wait dont forget all the PAID dlc for an EARLY ACESS game.
Combat listened to its players. The game is still bugged for sure, as I was gunned down the other day wearing T5 Alpha by a Phoenix full auto Makarov. Not a fun time. Luckily I was in a Training raid, so yea. Game needs work but its better since wipe.
Combat listens to players-but only to what they happen to like. There are MASSES of bugs that have been with the game for over half a year , reported all the time and nothing happens.... Not to mention the additional elements.... I get the impression that they just can't do much with this game anymore (this wipe showed it- it was supposed to be a revolution , there is only a new map and dozens of new bugs, rest is cosmetic)

@@JoshyyV2 they've "overhauled" the ammo loader like 3 times, and "fixed" it about 15 times, for example. So even if they try and deliver on bug fixes, they still fuck it up.
Many people are fine with them being more difficult, but they were in-human. Seeing through walls or things humans wouldn't normally try and shoot through (but at the same time, you could shoot at them, and sometimes they wouldn't notice bullets flying past their face). Running while full auto'ing with only one hand, with perfect accuracy the entire time. Day 1 had 360 degree detection radius, from 200 meters initially, meaning even if you were far enough away where there is no way they could hear you, they'd still detect you. I've stopped playing since update, maybe I'm over reacting but the game feels broken since the new map update. Sounds are terrible and AI using aimbot 😅 but sound is main issue. I can here 15 scavs that feels like they're right next to me yet a player can run up 12m behind me without me knowing
me personally i think tabor is better. I feel exfilzone is just not my thing and i dont like how big the map is and how the guns feel and some other stuff with exfil zone. But, tabor is just a better game to me atleast. I do see that exfil zone is more realistic and more like tarkov. I do see why people like it over tabor. In some aspects i have understanding that tabor is worse is a lot of aspects than exfil zone. What I like about the dynamics in exfilzone is that you don't just shoot everything that moves if you spawn as scav. It gives people reason to not shoot, to talk, etc. The first 2 days playing exfil as scav has shown me that a large part of the community will actually help new players and team up organically. In Tabor you could go weeks of play without finding another person who will talk to you or team up. Exfilzone, I'd say if you were looking for friends in game then you can find a few every day. Tabor has far superior audio, but that's about it. My gripe with exfilzone has to be map size. You spawn in as scav and you basically have to dead sprint to exfil, and then you have maybe 4 minutes to look the entire round. The rounds are definitely long enough, the map is just too big. Too much empty open space, but I prefer that to a map that feels too small and chaotic. A little boredom from walking is better than constantly being frustrated dieing 5 minutes into a match. What I absolutely love is that you don't need to give up an arm and a leg and 4 months of your time to get a useful backpack or gun to buy, and raise have items and guns stashed evenly and you never leave a raid thinking "the map seemed pre-looted before it even loaded the match"
Just started playing exfil and i think GOT still has it's own advantages. It feels like GOT has more consistent PVP encounters and progressing is a little more straight forward. Exfil has better aiming/gun mechanics/less general jankiness. I find exfil's healing to be a little annoying and I'm a little overwhelmed by the complexity of the progression system.

Personally, my problem with the recent hate is its incorrectly directed, mostly coming from people who have little experience in game dev, deciding shitting on the devs is the correct way to deliver the criticism, I also think some of the complaints are blown way out of proportion, they added two DLCs this wipe, one is a cosmetic skin DLC and the other is multiplayer PVE, neither of these are overbearing and would have had little to no effect on development, and bugs on release are to be expected with every major update in ANY game, there were only a few bugs added relatively speaking and the original fenix weren't bugged, they were just overturned (i personally preferred hotfix 1 scavs but if people like the current state then cool), I can go into more detail about this but it's not as black and white as people have been painting it and the game is in a genuinely pretty good state at the moment other than a few balance changes like certain tasks and the EXP yield
My problem with CWS currently is the way they handle the community, they can be very unprofessional and often respond to questions with more hostility than is necessary. This does NOT excuse the bomb threats or anything like that, however, I am of the belief that your community is a reflection of how well you manage it, and the GoT community currently has been out of line on both the CWS and player base side IMO, it does seem like they're trying to learn though, and I would like to see them build their community back to the point it used to be
Being cynical about the state of the game does nothing for us and only slows the feedback loop this game is currently so desperate on, being overly hostile gets us nothing, and that's my exact criticism of CWS rn, we shouldn't be hating on them or calling them horrible devs, that only serves to cause division rather than help the game we all want to see succeed, to use your analogy, yea tell the kid they aren't ready for X Factor, however, don't tell the kid they're a bad person and have no hope of ever getting better, and blowing every mistake up to make it seem like they're incapable of doing anything, because that's equally if not more harmful than just lying to them.
Also, to be clear, I think most of your feedback has been fine, Tan. I can't really blame you for joking about the "biased feedback" bit because that was pretty insane.

I think both sides are at fault. The devs released an update that had many more bugs and was unbalanced in certain aspects, like the Fenix. There’s also many things that were said by representatives of CWS that were super unprofessional. I’m considering anyone with a position of power in the Combat Waffle Discord/Facebook community a representative.
The community pointed out the problems, which is good. However, I think some of the community started slinging hate towards CWS. Nobody deserves to be hated. Hate doesn’t solve any problems. Hell, it’s the reason I created my channel. The internet has made it really easy to hate behind a screen without feeling consquences.
I think both sides could have handled things way better. If everyone went in with the same mentality that Tan has, I think things would have gone way better. If you like the game and want it to improve, great. Tell the devs what you think are problems, fill out the bug reports and suggestions box, and try to improve the game. If you don’t like the game, you shouldn’t stick around just to sling hate at the devs. It’s like my family always told me, if you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything. But it’s also like Tan said in the video, you shouldn’t tell the devs that their game is perfect and flawless when it isn’t.
There’s a fine line in there. If all you have to say are hateful things, don’t say anything. However, to love something is to want the best for it. If you have things to say out of love, whether it be positive or negative, make your opinion heard. That’s the best you can do. It’s hard to respond to love with hate.

I love this video. I work in tech and could never imaging treating my users terribly because of a bug my team released. The whole point of criticism is to treat it as feedback for bug fixes and feature requests. The hardest lesson I ever learned working on codebases is that "you are NOT your code", and CWS needs to realize this. They put out a broken, severely broken, product this wipe and people raised concern, they took it personally and mismanaged the community. The L is on them this time.

Let’s consider whether Tabor will actually change and add even a fraction of the features that Alpha Exfill has. I believe it won’t. Both games run on Unreal Engine, so there’s no technical advantage apart from the developers’ skills. All the changes in Tabor over the past year have been purely cosmetic and haven’t addressed the game’s core issues. They also haven’t fixed the severe bugs that have been present since almost the beginning.
It looks like either they don’t know how to fix them-because the game’s backbone is so patched together that it’s barely holding-or (for the same reason) it’s no longer even possible. Why do I think that? Because whenever they add something (and I emphasize-it’s only minor tweaks and new assets), a ton of new bugs immediately appear-and always fixing them cost long time (or not fixed never like buzz sound at Island and turned 90 degrees scopes added by last wipe)
This makes it seem like the project is too much for them to handle. Just look at the maps-at first glance, they look nice, but they’re really just based on rectangular shapes. Collisions for any object that isn’t a cube are practically impossible-this is a sign of semi-amateurish skills.
Personally, I think the developers know full well that they can’t change much anymore, so they’re trying to monetize the game as much as possible (constantly releasing DLCs with unnecessary gadgets) because they know it will collapse sooner or later. And I believe that moment is approaching with Exfill, which is several levels better.

The "X Factor" analogy is a little corny, but the most cliche sounding things feel cliche because we have to keep repeating these lessons over and over to people; if you don't show people that they need to improve, they never will. I've been playing tabor on the quest 2 basically since it came out and have been pretty into it. While ive been impatiently waiting for my quest 3 upgrade however, I was genuinely wondering if giving exfilzone would be worth a try because I was thinking about getting it.

I've played both so far and I like both for different reasons. Exfil has a massive number of features out of the gate but still has a different type of jank than Tabor has (shifting terrain, other interface oddities, and the guns feel like plastic toys in Exfil, which is weird, and on and on).
The Tabor team needs to have more confidence in the quality of it's product, because despite it's flaws, it's still a great game. All VR titles are weird, because it's a brand spanking new media and there's a lot of negotiating going on. Scott needs to take a step back from community engagement. Founder syndrome is evident, which isn't a knock, a lot of leaders go through this. He's obviously driving a great team, but he needs to get out of the way of his advocates.

That's because an alpha has more content, more missions, more loot and more mechanics than tabor which has been out for over 2 years now. We still dont have individual healing, or leaning which were talked about over a year ago. It took tabor 2 years to give us slightly better missions. Dont forget the bunker in tabor has less, and cant be upgraded as extensively. All tanor has going for it is the gunplay and sound design. Which will only be for now. Ohh wait dont forget all the PAID dlc for an EARLY ACESS game.

Combat listened to its players. The game is still bugged for sure, as I was gunned down the other day wearing T5 Alpha by a Phoenix full auto Makarov. Not a fun time. Luckily I was in a Training raid, so yea. Game needs work but its better since wipe.
Combat listens to players-but only to what they happen to like. There are MASSES of bugs that have been with the game for over half a year , reported all the time and nothing happens.... Not to mention the additional elements.... I get the impression that they just can't do much with this game anymore (this wipe showed it- it was supposed to be a revolution , there is only a new map and dozens of new bugs, rest is cosmetic)

Many people are fine with them being more difficult, but they were in-human. Seeing through walls or things humans wouldn't normally try and shoot through (but at the same time, you could shoot at them, and sometimes they wouldn't notice bullets flying past their face). Running while full auto'ing with only one hand, with perfect accuracy the entire time. Day 1 had 360 degree detection radius, from 200 meters initially, meaning even if you were far enough away where there is no way they could hear you, they'd still detect you. I've stopped playing since update, maybe I'm over reacting but the game feels broken since the new map update. Sounds are terrible and AI using aimbot 😅 but sound is main issue. I can here 15 scavs that feels like they're right next to me yet a player can run up 12m behind me without me knowing

me personally i think tabor is better. I feel exfilzone is just not my thing and i dont like how big the map is and how the guns feel and some other stuff with exfil zone. But, tabor is just a better game to me atleast. I do see that exfil zone is more realistic and more like tarkov. I do see why people like it over tabor. In some aspects i have understanding that tabor is worse is a lot of aspects than exfil zone. But i think tabor is more fun to me and I think exfil zone is fun but i just dont have the same connection. I see why you like exfil zone so much and i see where your coming from. I think CWS has a lot of work to do and for exfil zone being in alpha and already better than tabor is wild. But i think tabor is better and many people will disagree which is fine. I think i might need to play exfil zone a bit more but yea. I think tabor is almost more unrealistic but realistic if you kinow what i mean. It doesnt have the features exfil zone offers. I think tabor is an amazing game and I have 4000 hours on this game, but I dont understand the majority of the criticism and also people are now "hating" on tabor just because exfilzone is out, like people are now focusing on all the bad instead of looking at the good. What I like about the dynamics in exfilzone is that you don't just shoot everything that moves if you spawn as scav. It gives people reason to not shoot, to talk, etc. The first 2 days playing exfil as scav has shown me that a large part of the community will actually help new players and team up organically. In Tabor you could go weeks of play without finding another person who will talk to you or team up. Exfilzone, I'd say if you were looking for friends in game then you can find a few every day. Tabor has far superior audio, but that's about it. My gripe with exfilzone has to be map size. You spawn in as scav and you basically have to dead sprint to exfil, and then you have maybe 4 minutes to look the entire round. The rounds are definitely long enough, the map is just too big. Too much empty open space, but I prefer that to a map that feels too small and chaotic. A little boredom from walking is better than constantly being frustrated dieing 5 minutes into a match. What I absolutely love is that you don't need to give up an arm and a leg and 4 months of your time to get a useful backpack or gun to buy, and raise have items and guns stashed evenly and you never leave a raid thinking "the map seemed pre-looted before it even loaded the match"

Just started playing exfil and i think GOT still has it's own advantages. It feels like GOT has more consistent PVP encounters and progressing is a little more straight forward. Exfil has better aiming/gun mechanics/less general jankiness. I find exfil's healing to be a little annoying and I'm a little overwhelmed by the complexity of the progression system.
