That little bolt needs a flange so you can tighten it by hand like a qr lol or a hydronic crank stopper built into the bb shell with a lever on the bars Cam you can do it 🤘
Wait a sec, isn't that hole already tapped? I'm thinking M5 x 0.8 mm? Which is also an extremely common size on a bike (e.g., watter bottle cage bolts). Also, where do you buy those chunks of plastic?
I’m pretty sure if you want to bi-pass knock block and not have the crown of the fork smash your frame, you have to get a thicker lower headset cup. You have to have an aluminum frame though, as the headset cups are built in on the carbon models. I’m not an expert on treks, but I’m giving my insight from working on them/watching this video.
Even if you remove the knock block, the fork crown will slap the frame. I guess they do this so they can make the frame more chunky and more “safe” during a crash.
The 2022 elements came with a high stack headset cup. I’d check compatibility with the treks and if it’s good, go hassle your local Rocky Mountain dealer for one, that should give enough clearance for the fork
I'm sorry to say but this is gonna be one of your most dis-liked videos Cam. Personally, I don't give a sh*t, you're a pro, it's your bike and I can't wait to see you tailwhip it again but it's the internet, and a lot of people are gonna have a hissy fit. Love the videos my man🤘
This is such an underrated channel love you guys
Thank you!
I read the title as 'DRILLING A HOLE IN MY EX' and my heart stopped for a second
I read it as "drilling a hole in my yay-ney" saw that it was Cam and was deeply concerned for his well-being.
Were you able to escape the bike police, I hear they are ruthless
Makes total sense! I didn’t even think about the cranks effecting that. Never had tailwhip skills 😂 but maybe with some mulch 🤔 😂 😂
Love the content and love the channel. You're crazy natural at talking to the camera as if talking to all of us!!
That friction ring looks like high density poly ethylene.
Ooooo - perfect now I know what it is
Good call! I was thinking that or UHMW (Ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene), which would also work
should be POM material (Polyoxymethylen). if you need spare you can get it CNC machined as well...easy task
What’s the piece of vinyl thing in the BB from? Trying to work out where to find one...
"You don't touch the pot until you become dumb again" lmao!!!!!!!
Thanks for sharing Cam!
i've been trying to learn strait to dirt without any practice.
Great video Cam, nice to see you land the tailwhip. I don't think that mod is for me though.
these videos are just to good
yeah do a backflip tutorial that would be epic
Dude this makes sooo much sense

The preexisting hole is there for welding gases to escape (or at least the ones on the chain stays are)
Can you do a ministeps Tutorial for the Whip? Would be awesome
Where can you pick up something similar to the plastic thing?
Why this instead of a rubber spacer or grip flange? Both those options I've tried and apply the needed friction without drilling holes or anything.
I did some serious time for drilling a hole in my BB. Make sure you get a good lawyer and you'll be ok.
Another question if I do this to my bike and bring it into the shop in a heap can I tell them that cam McCaul told me to drill holes in my bike?
Niiice...luv the ending
Haha that ending 🤣. Is the mulch pile at pines nursery?
I can’t be the only person that got the dad joke at 9:09
Cam, how’s the bike pedal with the smaller wheels? Is the bb drop noticeable?
You have to ride with Sam Pilgrim, you'd be the the perfect team 🔥🔥
Has your friend Drew seen this? Does he cry watching this happen or is he on board?
Haha - he’s probably twitching
whats that little red
torque wrench called?????
Where do I get that piece?
Can you please do a backflip tutorial ?

Couldn't you just have tightend the preload lockring on shimano cranks? Would have created friction
Hmm cracking. Bought a new slash and yup it cracked. All the alloy slash’s are cracking.
Smart, but you could cut a lip/tongue, like a U, in the plastic spacer you took out. Then have the screw tighten the lip/tongue down.... Maybe/?
For weight savings? Like a big ol 1 inch hole saw straight through the top tube to save precious grams?
What stroke length and shock size can the fuel ex fit, would it be possible if you could make a video on it?
210x55 it’s on the trek website
Thanks
Using a 9mm drill, to cut with a 6mm thread tap?
He said it correctly the second time: a "number nine" bit (from a machinist's numbered bit set), which is 4.9784 mm diameter.
9:05 I’ve used a c clamp and two plates of metal before heh
can you do a video on removing knock block!?
I’m pretty sure if you want to bi-pass knock block and not have the crown of the fork smash your frame, you have to get a thicker lower headset cup. Cam drills a hole in his bike(not the first time)
15 year old me: Seems legit
27 year old me: Oh please no Cam
Are you sponsored by trek and if so how did you get sponsored
What helmet is that?
Will trek still honour my warranty if I tell them you told me to do it? 😂
WHAT IS TH FRAME SIZE??
I thought you decided that the mulch jump was manure
Why couldn’t you just pull the rear brake
Won't prevent the cranks from turning backwards
No knockblock on that model? My fuel is not whippable
You can remove it
Even if you remove the knock block, the fork crown will slap the frame. I guess they do this so they can make the frame more chunky and more “safe” during a crash.

Why do some of the best riders ride for trek but trek doesn’t care about freestyle mtb?
Wingnut bolt= no tools needed
Cam, would you mind helping me get sponsored

So far only one person cannot operate a drill.
Shieeeeeet
This is illegal
