- Battlefield 1 - I rack up a score of 81-1, by flying the Fighter Plane with the trench fighter loadout. I faced a high amount of air resistance. In this video I share tips and tricks on how to win in air combat.
This is on the Operations game mode. The map is "ST Quentin's Scar"

attack planes could actually be the best if the tail gunners could FREAKING STAY IN THE PLANE.
@Jean_Napoléon Takes too long to switch, and if the enemy pilot is as competent as Niccaman, you won't have a chance to hit him much.
I jump in every chance...and the pilot always waits for me to spawn in after we OCCASIONALLY get nailed.....it's a blast being the gunner on the plane that lets you swivel round for forward firing as well....woo hoo...lol.
i never get any tail gunners when i play but my enemies always do.
double kills at an AA means there was a line waiting to kill you.

When I'm playing operations and notice the enemy pilot is very bad, I usually just let them fly around being useless. If I shot them down, there's a chance a better pilot will hop in a plane and come after me. I'd rather let the bad pilot do their thing and keep killing his teammates myself

Guys, I forgot to mention, unlike previous battlefield games - there is no speed control in this game. Stay at max speed at all times, if you slow down, your turn is tighter but you take longer to turn full 360.

@@afj810 It's changed. You can see in the first demo that he uses E-Repair on a dogfighter, and it doesn't have the "Extra speed and agility" ability on #3.

Couldn't even stay in the air before and to mention didn't even know the spoting and when to release the darts.

How do you kill other planes so fast? On console it's impossible to consistently shoot a plane that's ahead of you

MeowHaze The mechanics are different in the campaign for some reason. I practiced on Just Cause 3 which has similar mechanics to Battlefield's multiplayer.

Wow I remember that fcking name I was just a newbie Pilot and was Annihilatied like 4-5 times in my Plane Ballroom Blitz Map by this Epic Fcker In his plane.
Didn't touch planes for 2 months and Became a Camping Sniper.

I've been flying since BF3. Got to say that dogfighting in BF1 is a bit different. Can't tell whether t's easier or harder tho.

Tyrone Jackson at the same time, spotting flare is harder to us than air radar. With radar it's easier to execute advanced maneuvers such as switch and scissors.

If you think lock ons was part of dogfighting in bf3 you are completely clueless. The dogfighting now just got a lower skill ceiling as there's no speed control. In bf3 a pilot who had mastered speed control would win 100 times out of 100 against a pilot which was not perfect in that part. In bf1 you just hold space and yaw and there's nothing else you can do other than outsmart your opponent with maneuvers.
@@HDuser100 And having an artificial skill gap means...what? I'd rather be defeated by being outmaneuvered by actual flying skill and tact than beat just because someone had better muscle memory. That's just stupid.
I think this guy really deserves more subscribers for his contribution. Kinda teaches me how to be an better and more effective pilot. Keep it up man 👍definitely would recommend for beginners ✨

Pretty good dogfighter myself. I use the trench fighter loadout. Best tip besides listening for engine roar, keep your minimap up and constantly spot the enemy plane, you won't lose um

I don't know if it would work for anyone else, but I love going for the wings. I also like quickly passing over back seat hoppers and trench bombing them, though I take some hits I shouldn't take

Yes the dual LMG on dogfigher &trench loadout is the same. IMO the dogfighter is useless, the only advantage is that quick repair option, what can be handy if your tail or wing got damaged. Bomber killer got a heavy LMG, slower but higher DPS.
SO far the only capable loadout is the trench fighter. Bomber killer´s reload is way too long, and the rockets splash damage is not really good for infantry targets.

Yeh it's different and it says in the loadout screen. I've been using the bomber killer lately and it's a lot of fun - will do a video on it soon
I usually use the bomberbuster on the attack plane. the back seat I use as a spawn point for teamates to get a flanking advantage and the rockets are solo effective against other planes, all behemoths, and pretty good at air to ground combat

The hardware you play with definitely makes a massive difference. So for headphones, or surround speaker set up, yeah, it'll help.

There are a lot of moves we can do in dog fights to get behind a enemy plane or to conter an attacking plane... Just look for real dogfight moves. War Thunder is a good exemple and if you use these technics in battlefield you will be wreaking people so much easyer ;)
when fighting bombers with my trench fighter its really fun flying over them and dropping the bombs. i'm an amateur so with your skills you could probably perfect the technique

The Dogfighter variant can be better than the Trench Bomber because it has an auto repair gadget as apposed to a flare.

I like the bomber killer, you get the extra speed thing and missiles to get easy kills on attack planes and bombers.
I noticed when you do donuts you just do the same circular motion. To gain the maximum speed your plane must be going in a downward angle. You should try when dogfighting to wiggle your plane wing as to get a little bit more distance from the ground and then go into a downward angle to cut that donut in half. Ø < like that

I like killing the snipers that lay down at the edges of the maps with the machineguns of the dogfigther variant cause its better with non moving targets, specially using the scope by zooming in first person view its super accurate and a great trolling/enraging method haha
I think battlefield 1 had a update and gave the dogfighter 15 rounds of flame bullets, so my tactic was to use that 15 rounds to first knock out a wing or two, then use the mg to shoot other planes down
Nah that's for losers I like to go above the plane with a trench fighter and knock them out with the rods
I tend to spot oncoming and position myself on their six by cutting the engine and preemptively turning onto their path before they pass me. Timing is crucial because if you cut it too early they'll end up on your tail.
This tutorial left me in the same spot, you didn't explained any maneuvers or speed control while in a dog fight.

Dog fighter wasn't given justice. Could have seen the guy clearly if looking through first person zoom.
It has a speed boost, self repair and a sight that can spot planes across the map. You can fly around their spawn, use your zoom to find spawning plane then hit the speed button to get right on them. Then you have the incendiary rounds to damage the other plane very easily.
Good tips, but when I go in circles with my plane like that for more than twenty seconds then my mouse always reaches the end of the mousepad and then I have to lift the mouse up and bring it back to the bottom of the mousepad, but then the enemy plane can shoot me many times. So... how do you avoid this?
When I spoke about settings in the video - I mention setting pitch up to space bar. All you have to do is hold down space bar !

I go with attack plane.... because I'm new to BF plane flying... so not that good in dog fighting.... with jumping backseat keeps me on air 9 times out of 10..
And just get more ground kills with attack planes primary/bombs

It's funny how many attack planes you still see (on console at least), given that they stand no chance vs a fighter
NHVideoHD only good, sometimes i use the canon on the attack plane just for fun :)
oh and btw, I managed to lower my vehicle sensitivity without knowing, last game attack planes did turn better than my fighter...
honestly, I think a met a few and I definitely have been shot down by some! But the reality is that most of the attack planes I encounter simply don't have a rail gunner... A simple seatswitch doesn't make you survive anymore in an attack plane

too good man... bad luck did not see this before and wasted time on attack planes...
When I use the trench fighter and someone hops in the back of a attack plane or bomber, I use the darts and it either finishes off the plane or the people inside. Takes a bit of practice but it is really effective.
For me pilot any kind of plane is the hardest thing to do in BF1 (PC). I really want to learn but everytime I get in a place I get destroyed in seconds haha.

i only use the dogfighter if i am outnumbered bcuz it have a quick repair option but if u are accurate u can kill infantry with the main guns .The best move in dogfights is switching and losing and scissoring

What settings for PS4? The right stick is too sensitive the way I have it. How do I change it? The left stick is OK, less sensitive than the right one. I used Broken Machine's settings because for infantry works just great, but when I got back in the plane.... total wreck.
Do you use ur mouse when ur flying or do u have any specific key bindings?
How can you do defensive evasive maneuvers with airplane sensitivity by 20%? Isn't it easier for the stalker plane to take down your plane because it turns the plane slower?

I just use the heavy bomber and the behemoth killer assault plane kit, it's pretty good for dog fighting and I'm also accurate with the back turret
Niccaman, have you tried binding the freelook to the same key as repair? I like the combo since you can't maneuver the plane in freelook mode anyway (except for yaw).
I think you're understating the importance of good teamplay, though. Good gunners on attack planes or bombers are clearly very potent. It seems like they're the best way of bringing you down, at least. :-)

have you considered utilizing the trench fighter's bombs on attack planes and bombers, it's a strategy i use a lot to get massive damage
Hey Niccaman, I was wondering how you keep doing those circular movements without reaching the end of your desktop with your mouse? I struggle with this and break my circle when I have to jump down 30cm with my mouse.
Also my game doesn't have freelook "aircraft" for some reason. I only have the left, right, up and down. How am I suppose to freelook? xD

You say in the movie you use pitch up on space, but you put it on pitch down. Which is it?
The one which makes you "go up" (gain altitude)
Can't remember which pitch up or down it is, because i think that changes with inverted flight controls. Just try and make your plain go up when you hit space and ur good ! (thats how I never hit my keyboard)

I drop fighter planes all the time in the attack plane ground support. I hit him with the front gun a few times he's gone.
Trench Fighter is for me a bit to cowardy, as it doesn't risk anything. Attack Plane has high risk and high reward on every map :) It is big difference that main gun of attack plane can snipe out infantries, while fighters should just wait until the bomb gets reloaded.
this is a good tutorial but I'm wondering what you think is the best way to turn the tightest. Is it with no throttle? cutting the engine in for short times? giving a little throttle?
There is no speed control in this game, stay at max speed at all times, if you slow down, your turn is tighter but you take longer to turn full 360. I like to kill the throttle only at specific times, for example when he's about to fly past me and I turn into him but don't want him to hear my engine
I'm pretty sure you can actually speed up past the base speed you get when you don't touch the throttle. There is a keybind for it too. I think you go faster but dont turn as fast at full throttle.
I assume dealing with attack planes that are fully staffed the same rules apply? From what I was watching you approach of attack planes and bombers are always at angles and hit and runs. Is this correct? Also there is this other kat who posted a sick vid of his dog fight and he had like 100 : 1 kd. This dude was flying over bombers and attack planes and he would kill them with his bomblets. It was sick as fuck.
The auto repair ability makes it near impossible for it to die from air-to-air combat. Its the ultimate air-to-air destroyer but it is the worst air-to-ground fighter. Timing is key with the auto repair.

Is the trench fighter any good at taking out bombers? And I'm assuming that taking on bombers is similar to the attack planes. Right?
Shookvinc actually there is a bomber killer loadout with rockets for extra damage. Due to the very slow movement of bombers it's pretty easy to hit them. Their tail and front gunners just do ludicrous amount of damage

My question is; Can you do a hammerhead on BF1? (Climb vertically until you stall and then use your height advantage to turn the tables on a player on your tail) I'm assuming the physics on the game aren't too complicated but it would look very cool if you could!
CoDhunter I guess it's possible. Depending on which plane your opponent has and how much health your plane has as well.

I feel like I really improved my piloting skills after watching this, I'm more aware of my positioning towards the enemy planes and I have a better idea of what to do based on that. And on top of that, you don't even bother with the obvious and boring stuff like "hold x to repair your plane" like bitch everyone knows that already, tell us how to win fights, not how to shoot. Any chance you make an advanced guide for BFV?

Rolling scissors( a wide barrel roll) is the best way to to lose them. they get annoyed and bug out, then you jump on them later.
When I had a fighter on my tail I flew straight towards the ground and he followed the pulled up but he didn't and crashed into the ground lol
I was thinking about exactly the same tactic a while ago... Doesnt work for me though, i am the one who crashes in most of the cases lol
