@@cdogg3728 dang, by the way that fish was ripping up river I’d atleast want 12 lb. That’s what I normally run. For how much effort goes into finding these fish, I’d prefer not to break off.
I caught a 38 inch 24 pound chinook on 8 pound line this past September. Craziest fight of my life. Also what’s Jon’s instagram? I know what river you’re fishing and I’ve been trying to find a guide to fish it in January.
WHAAAAAA😂 AND THIS GUY WANTS TO POINT OUT ITS NIT A STEELHEAD!! AND YET CANT IDENTIFY GHE DIFFERENCE OF IF ITS A SILVER OR GO HO COHO. WELL THE WHITE AROUND ITS MOUTH LIKE A RACIAL CARTOON. ITS A COHO. AND SILVERS DONT GET THAT BIG!!! Just to point out
@garystevens1044 LOL, before trashing someone else about silver or coho salmon you might wana Google silver salmon. Silver salmon and coho are the same thing. Silver is just another name for coho! So when he said it's a coho or silver salmon he meant it's a coho or otherwise known as a silver salmon, not a steelhead. This is a great example of a clown trying to call someone else a fool.
8lb leader is what I run and it works just fine. You kind of have to run lower lb leader later season. I might even drop down to 6 in January

Why did you post this fish on the Skagit river Facebook page? Weird
How was that coho not spawned out in mid- late december??
There’s tons of bright fish still coming in December

Oh I was joking about him being a tribal guide😂 that’s my cousin. And I believe that must of been a crazy fight.
By the way that is not a steelhead.... it is a coho or silver salmon.
@@garyfuller-wg6dz I’m aware, the title is “fishing for steelhead”
@@garyfuller-wg6dz the steelhead are harder to target so settled for a coho
